I double wick with CDN 2 in the 13.5 Cali jar from California candle supply. I use 90% coconut 83, 5% white beeswax, and 5% SP 487 (just to increase the hot throw). For me, the double wick CDN 2 is perfect and flames are the perfect size.

For me I use white descented beeswax to my rapeseed/soya/coconut blend but not just for raising coconut and soy wax low melt point. It is reallllly good at getting rid the cauliflower tops after burns. I actually find beeswax awful for hot and cold throw but @ 5% it's negligible and ultimately the benefits outweighs it's fragrance retention.

I am looking at the price and seem to get a better deal for beeswax than soy wax on Amazon. I will experiment with the wick size then. I bought some candles that has the unique shape which I like, and they vary from 2.5 " to 4.5". I use the cups to remake my own candles now. I have a votive candle lit all the time so it more economical to make candle in cups that last for 24-90 hours long. Thanks for sharing!!

Super helpful. Been testing for over a year and I personally am really trying to stay paraffin free (just a personal choice) and it's tough to be honest. I *think* I'm finally there with the larger vessel I'm planning to use, but the smaller one, similar size to yours, is the problem. It's a goldilocks situation, too hot and too much soot and jar heat or too cool and no HT or melt pool. I'll give this a try, thank you for your insight and can understand why you can't give a specific recommendation, just too many variables at play.

I use Soy 10 alone, in my 8oz tins with a 6oz fill weight. The tins I use have a 3.5” diameter. I doubled wicked with two CDN2 wicks and on my first burn it took about 6hrs to get a full melt pool. The 2nd and 3rd burn took 4hrs to reach a full pool. And the 4th and 5th burn took 3hrs until a full pool. I’m getting about a 25hr total burn time. Does this sound about right to you? Just as an opinion? The throw is actually really good. I tested in my kitchen and could smell it going upstairs.

I too just started using beeswax in my 434…I use wood wicks. Compared to just 434 alone the wax is harder and does burn slower. I noticed with double wicking, wax does melt faster compared to single wicking….which is why I decided to do a 75% soy / 25% beeswax. In my case, hot throw and cold throw are still on target… no issues there.

So funny, I literally just ordered a bunch of different kinds of beeswax for blending for the same reason 🤣🤣 I use (and love!) ecosoya, because I wanted something that was environment conscious. They pour beautifully, no frosting, clean glossy white color, BUT!!! When the room temperature goes over like 75°, they start sweating SO BAD!! I don’t want to switch waxes so I’m trying to raise the melt point with beeswax to see if that helps the problem! I use wooden wicks so I also have trouble wicking, so hoping that beeswax will help with that as well! I’m surprised to hear your recommendation of starting with 1-2% beeswax, I was going to start with 10% 💀💀

@@MemoryBoxCandleCo It started with co-workers and grew from there, but to be more specific, When I am stocked up, I carry a candle of each scent, anytime I leave the house. When I went anywhere and when given a feel for an opportunity, I ask a very specific and simple question.... "Do you like scented candles?" If it feels right and they say yes, I usually get the response as to why am asking. I respond with, "I make them" You do?! I do ☺️. (Shows the bizpack.) They often ask if they can smell/ look and I say of course! Usually I get asked about the price after and it goes from there. Locally, I sell them for $13.44, but mention the 20% off sale until one month after my website is live. (Reasons explained in video) No box, no shipping cost. Just as is. Sales so far have been to the plasma center I go to, to donate plasma. -A hair solon -Co-workers -Restaurant workers -My wholesale store (retro/tabletop games who are probably sold out by now as they sold half of the 15 I gave them last week) -Random people I bump into -Returning customers from each. I am asked about a website constantly and explain that it is coming soon, but that I am also growing and will give them my business phone number then and there or mention that I'll handout business cards and fliers when the site is live. (I feel like a traveling merchant in a videogame lol.) I also carry a notepad/ order sheet and everything I need to make a Point of Sale, right there... Cash is best, but I also accept credit cards (discover, visa, etc). There are way more advantages to having your products on you. Funny thing. I was wondering how your beeswax impacted your candles, I don’t have experience with beeswax so I was curious! Very interesting, thanks for sharing! I’ve been stubborn and want to make 100% soy work so I’ve been doing 464 with minimal amounts of blended waxes pillar soy wax! I tried a blend with ecosoya in the mix too but felt like that and the BW took away from my hot throw and that the 464 gave me a better scent throw overall so I went back to mainly 464 with little amounts of BW. I live in Hawaii so my candles can be iffy when they set since my place gets sooo hot so I appreciate the soy additive creating a more stable and smooth outcome. I still get iffy candles every now and then and it leaves me scratching my head sometimes but I recently lowered my FO amount from 10% to 7% or 8% depending on scent and that seems to have helped, strangely it also helped my hot throw, sometimes less is actually more! Do you ever get a candle that’s setting and looking almost curdled? I was curious if that means the FO is separating from the wax? As always, thanks for sharing Erica! Love and aloha from Hawaii! 🌺💗

The beeswax seems to stabilize my candles from 1st melt pool to the next. Trading some HT for a pretty candle is worth it to me. I'll also double my wood wicks into one in my 3" vessels.
