Given what I heard about MBLD at worlds, it would have been really easy to blame outside factors for your result. So lots of respect for not doing that, shows a really good mindset on your part. Hope to meet you in Seattle 2025
Yeah like i watched another vid where i could see organiser walking around takling moving timeres and holder, huge respect to Graham for making the vid and not blanding Them
Yeah like, all of those things did happen, and they absolutely did not *help* lmao. But it happened to everybody else too. I think I probably would DNFed even with a great MBLD environment+the same cutoff.
Really admire your mindset here, obviously it's gonna hurt at first but it's how you bounce back from it that matters. To bigger and better results in the future! :)
if everyone could bat 1.000 100% of the time, then competitions wouldn't be interesting. all you can do it keep truckin along until the next shot comes and you've absolutely got the mindset for it. hoping for a better mbld next worlds not just out of you, but of everyone. keep pushin forward man
Can you give mi a hearth ❤️❤️❤️ Jk, super sad that you choked, and it's not a fun situation 😢 that being said, best of luck in the future and we'll all be supporting you next worlds :)
Mate you even pick up cubes in an epic way (5:33) so yeah thanks for this video and all the best at future comps. Also I still think 4x4 Multi should be an event but that's just me lol
Hope 2025 goes better (I know it's not the sole reason to blame, but I would've expected a world championship to have better organizing for an event). Also, see you at SacQuiet!
I really admire your mindset and perseverance Graham. I hope to become as hard-working and skilled in MBLD as you are. Was great meeting you again and see you in Seattle hopefully! 😄
Graham: I'm not gonna let the ego take control of me. Also graham: I know I'm the best i the world Jokes aside, I think most people massively underperformed at worlds for various reasons, organisatiin aside. For me, kinda ate away at my sadness and ended up just enjoying the food and having more time to talk to other cubers. Its insane meeting you and the other world class blinders outside of Australia which definitely made the trip worth it.
Is it egotistical for me to just state facts :p Yeah I failed to talk about that part -- I think the best part about Worlds will always be meeting and hanging out with so many people from so many varying cultures, often times people youve been friends with online for years but never met in person, it's always such a good time. No amount of horrible official results could ruin that part of Worlds
Wish I had this mindset as a blinder, I beat myself up so much with blind especially officialy because I want the results that I want and patience is something I struggle with. Grinding just doesn’t feel worth it sometimes when I fail officialy like that ig
I definitely still beat myself up a bit over bad results but I used to be way worse about it. Finding the ideal mindset is huge, I feel like especially for events like MBLD. I'm always just trying to remind myself to focus on the fun aspects of it, and to not always try so hard. I think often times, if I can really sit in that mindset, things work out well. For 3/4 of my WRs, I went into the attempt feeling very sure that I would get a mediocre result at best. The other WR was carried by just a crazy level of confidence to the point where I wasn't nervous or stressed at all lol
@@GrahamSigginsat least I know I’m not the only one. Thanks for being an inspiration to me. Got plenty of bld rounds incoming so hoping for some goodies there. Trying to learn 3 style but it’s a struggle, at least I’ve got m2/op
Can you pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase link your blindfold maks? Also if I met you in a comp for how much would you sell it to me and even if not would you sing mine? Pwease 🥺👉👈??
I mean, it's just one comp. Yeah, the most important, most awaited comp in years, but just one comp nonetheless. I guess (almost) no one don't consider you the best in the world. Not to speak about others, but I'll do it: Max lost at worlds, Feliks lost at worlds when everybody was expecting them to win (and in Korea I could name Zayn, Yiheng and maybe someone else) but still everybody consider them among the best ever. Maybe I'm just trying to feed your ego (and there's no need to do it) but hey, did I already say it was just one comp?
It's not annoying -- I think Elliott just hadn't been practicing MBLD at all, was super rusty and didn't feel like going for a good result. I think he's been way more focused on bigBLD, but mostly 3BLD
unfortunate that this happened, but i'm glad to hear you got over it. good luck and have fun with all your future comps and attempts!!!! also nice cat!
By the rule, you mean the cutoff, right? I imagine it was introduced to save staff's time. A really silly way to do that though, if you ask me. The cutoff only saves a little bit of the staffs time, and instead they could just make qualification harder and save way more of the staffs time. Seems like a no brainer to me 🤷♂ MBLD was not just one attempt, it was a best of 2, but if you didn't get more than 14 points on attempt 1, you weren't allowed to do attempt 2. So effectively, for me, it was just one attempt
