I bought a 1993 Ford Explorer for $500 6 months ago with 365,000 miles on the odometer and it was abused by it’s previous owner and sat for a year. The starter motor bolts backed out because of a huge oily mess on the undercarriage and caused the starter to not spin the flywheel when I turned the key. It also had a major misfire issue because the spark plugs were rusted and covered in black oil. The oil also looked like it hadn’t been changed in a long time and the oil filter was loose while taking it off. But after I changed the spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter, the engine runs like a dream. It hasn’t had any problems since I fixed those issues. She’s a strong old girl.

Why are they still allowed to collectively bargain (extort) when they make so much!? If regular guys did that we'd go to jail!!! It's no wonder America can't compete in the world today, and everything is made in China, the unions make way too much money! And the union bosses, and other managers and what not, take a big cut of the pie too; how do you think they can lobby so good in Government for a big chunk of our tax dollars!! Union's time has come and gone, why are they still allowed to operate!!?

If you want some pre 90s junk that rusts, is slow and gets awful fuel economy go ahead and buy it enjoy having to adjust cables all the time adjust carbs all the time enjoy the fact they won't run well on modern fuel. Compared to old cars modern cars are far more reliable as long as you don't buy some stupid luxury car and stick to a good german, japanesse or south Korean car.
