Here are the names of those who died in Surfside condo collapse 

When I was in church pre-school, one teacher told us to say, "Thank you, God, for waking me up." I'm shedding a tear now.

Its not that life is fragile, its that these people felt safe in a building that those in charge knew was unsafe. These people and their families can never rest until justice is served to those responsible.

Some were very young children. There aren't words to say how sad. God bless them.

So heartbreaking. Those people believed they would wake up the next day... this is why the Bible warns us not to put off being saved, we could see Jesus at any moment. I hope they didn’t suffer . 😢

Yes you are right life is fragile and no one is guaranteed tomorrow which is why Jesus Christ told everyone to repent of sins and call upon His Holy name for forgiveness so they can be saved through Him, for there is no other way to be Saved. No one knows when in a blink of an eye their life could be gone.

My hunch and my true hope is that the majority of these souls were asleep at that time and were taken before they were conscious of anything. I pray for all of them.

Some heard the rumbling first and woke up. Those who didn’t die on impact must have suffered and slowly died. It’s horrible.

Would you blame 'corporations' if a person in a single family home failed to maintain it and it rotted and collapsed? When people engage in co-ownership, it is always a risk they take. Better to own a house. Or when you buy a condo you have to be vigilant about the things that matter and not get caught up in all the marble lobbies and granite kitchens. This is tragic of course, but i hope the benefit that comes out of this for the whole country is that buyers become more savvy and discerning and very very cautious. That's ALWAYS been the case, but this really does drive it home. I am intuitively cautious, and if i saw that garage, i'd go running instead of buying. Not everyone is like that, but i hope this will help those people.

I thought about this too @Honey Finau. I thought about how I go to bed late and rise early.. about how I'm a light sleeper. I can't imagine the horror of being jolted awake by this destruction and no time to run, check on loved ones, utter helplessness. Heartbreaking

Exactly! Every landlord I've had has tried to cut corners to save money and never thinks about the safety of the resident. Things need to change.

Actually, the condo owners refused repairs because they didn't want to foot the bill so...this incident could have been prevented had the condo owners just spent some of their money. They all owned nice cars and condos but couldn't spend the money to make repairs. You obviously don't know how reality works so continue to blame ONLY the landlord. Morons

@TEE PERO that was in Seffner, Florida. The hole swallowed him while he was sleeping in his bed. His brother jumped in trying to save him, sadly he wasn’t able to. I live in Florida and I remember that happening.

One hopes the other complexes are checked out and this does not happen again.

Not only is the condo board to blame for the deferred maintenance and neglect, but also many of the condo owners who probably voted down many of the special assessments (or higher monthly HOA fees) that would have been necessary to build up a healthy reserve balance for capital expenditures/repairs. Now the condo owners are looking to blame everyone else, but not themselves. They are looking for deep pockets so they can get more money out of this, as their insurance coverage and the land value are not nearly enough to compensate every single victim fully. Add to that a corrupt builder who cut corners, plus lax government oversight in the state of Florida, then you have a recipe for disaster. Since Florida residents love the Republicans with their penchant for deregulation, and a hands-off government, they should not be surprised that greed and money comes before human health and lives. Y’all got what you wanted!

Hopefully, they didn't know what was happening and their end was mercifully quick and unknowingly painless.
