Bruh why you want suvs anyways, suv are big and sluggish and they will never give you the confidence in handling. Space? Sometimes wagon even have a wider space than suv anyways.
Shadow WSK Well , for people who just travel in the city , yeah I don’t get them. But if you go to the countryside, drive on some bad roads and travel a lot , then an SUV can save you a lot of headache. Hit potholes multiple times at high speed and no damage to anything on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Also , sluggish? Well depends on the car. And again , confidence in handling? Still depends on the car , but more of yourself.
i am from australia we only get the audi/jag and porsche the suv is killing off the wagon slowly though europe might save the wagon more popular their not sure about asia
As an American with an 80's Volvo 240 Wagon, thank you giving light to this issue. Wagons deserve better. One thing though, I'm disappointed by the lack of love for the Regal Wagon. As far as I know it's the first US produced wagon in a while, and personally I believe they did a great job with the styling.
Manual wagons are probably my favorite thing ever made. That's why rare ones like the 5 series is so expensive nowadays in the states. Sadly the only one left is the mini clubman now that the golf wagon is dead. Meanwhile in Europe you can still get the Volvo v90 with a manual 😂
That is always what reviewers say, and it's the official line, but check Volvo's inventory on their website and you'll find them at bigger dealers. Many.
If you like wagons, but don't live in Europe, and don't want to purchase a Porsche, Mercedes or Lamborghini etc., there is still hope. Kia sells the Forte 5 in Canada, which is a wagon -even though they call it a hatchback because they don't want to turn off the SUV crowd.
I think some kind of "racing redesign" would be a nice idea. For example you take a roadcar and make it into a RX supercar, GT3 racer or a DTM wagon, the racecar of our dreams
I LOVE wagons, and they are becoming way too difficult to find these days, especially in a manual transmission. I relinquished my VW TDI sportwagen in the buy-out from the diesel scandal, and I miss it dearly.
I had a 2005 VW Pass at V6 wagon 5spd, LOVED IT Hugged the road like a GTI on rails and would get another one if I could find one again with low mil. I also had a 2007 VW Passant 3.6, it was more luxury minded than the previous V6, smooth but not as fun to drive. Sadly VW is only giving Americans the option of Jetta/ G8lf wagons and screwing us out of the beautiful Newer Pass at. If VW wants to hang onto or beat Toyota sales, then they better start offering US ALL the cars they give Europe. Yup.

I was thinking about it some days ago. People buy ridiculous Mercs GLS and as we now wagons are better than SUVs, an S class wagon would be a logically better choice.
To Quote James may on his Volvo Estate (Africa Special): "It's a Volvo. This defines the estate car. Nothing else is an estate car, only this." ;) The Merc would be awesome with a better looking rear end! The Audi looks good, but i actually prefer the regular spec version of the A6.
You can tell with Volvo that they look to make the wagon from the beginning. Not make a sedan into a wagon. There is a huge difference! Volvo quality is also proof that you get what you pay for. I owned 2 and I miss them both. Sadly, neither was a wagon.
I just saw the Jaguar wagon pulling out of my sons school the other day and I did a double take. It actually has me wanting a wagon instead of an SUV at this point.
I don’t like wagon I’m more of a sedan or fastback sedan car person. The dodge magnum SRT8 is my favorite wagons so I would love to see a new model. I'm not buying an SUV
Definitely the Audi RS6, is the most bad ass, and the most aggressive looking of the bunch. If its curb weight (4,960) was lower it will definitely out perform the Mercedes and Porche no doubt. I wish Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, will re-introduce a high performance station wagons here in the United States. Great comparison and video. Keep up the good work.
Wagons are starting to look pretty cool nowadays, especially with the increased performance and tech inside. Like if Rolls Royce made a wagon that would be unbelievable! Like you could literally smash in the back with a starlight headliner lo... With that being said, I wish we could at leaset order or instead of it being sold here!
My list: Volvo, Volvo, Volvo, Volvo and Audi (V60, V60CC, V90, V90CC and RS6). The reason I don't swap the RS6's spot with a BMW estate is...well they don't make a 5-Series estate, and even if they did they still wouldn't make an M5 estate. But there's still the 3-Series estate, you might say. Well there is no M3 estate, and if you're like well there's no Polestar V90/V60, that's because I feel that the Volvo's feel great without additional sport features, wheres the Germans need it to compete with each other. Also, if this list was extended I would add the Taycan Wagon (or whatever they call it - something like Sport Wagon probably).
I own a 2001 Volvo v70 xc, 20 years old like new. Previously owned a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT where my love began for these good quality cars. However I am curious about the V90 inscription. I'm not going to give up on my v70 that will be with me permanently. I like your content and knowledge about the different models. Just want to know a little more about the V90 Inscription. Myself i own Mazda 6 GH wagon (i don't think they were even sold in states). Personally i think wagons (or as they say "estate") are much better and much more convenient than its sedan counterparts, and thank god i dont see that type of car disappearing anytime soon in europe, people love them :) My favourite car from this list is Mercedes S213, not necessary AMG variant. I would love to have something like E400d with 700nm from powerful diesel enine :)
I've said for years a luxe station wagon is the sexier option than that of being a SoccerVanDad. I also like CUV's and hatchbacks BMW X6 or Hyundai Veloster
I agree with you on all the wagons EXCEPT the Panamera. I've never been a fan of Porsche in general, so their wagon if overpriced and underwhelming. I LOVE Volvo wagon... pretty much everyone they made from the '80's forward. I owned a 2004 V70 T5 in silver that I adored. Also had a red 1993 850GLT, but not in wagon guise. And for a laugh, the very first car I financed at age 18 was a 1986 Ford Taurus GL Wagon (beige). When other kids my age were tooling around in Fiero's, CRX's, Camaro's, and Mustangs, I chose to drive a wagon. That should speak volumes as to how I feel about station wagons! I can say this without hesitation... I would 100% rather have a wagon than ANY SUV/CUV made. Hopefully, Americans will come to their collective good senses and revive wagons in lieu of behemoth, gas sucking, ozone killing SUV's and CUV's. Fingers crossed!
The V90 is a stunning car. My friend has just bought one here in the UK and it’s beautiful. I also like that it isn’t a German car that litters the UK roads, dare to be different. The Jag is much more elegant than the Audi - that just scream arrogance - pretty much like their drivers.
Hey! I would love to see a redesign of the smart roadster as there’s no 2nd gerneration in sight. I think with the design language of today it would be a gorgeous looking car.

It's a shame there's a few manufacturers that won't export their larger estates and saloons to the UK, such as the Honda Accord and Renault Talisman. Those would be nice to see, but apparently we don't have the market to justify the right-hand conversions.
Btw, I do see BMW 3 series touring here in Canada. So maybe it would be possible to get one of them across the border. I don't know how that works though.

I know they are Non-US cars, but since they do look nice, I was wondering what you think of the Peugeot 508 station wagon and especially the Skoda Superb Station Wagon! The Skoda Superb is imho one of the most beautiful station wagons on the (european) roads today.
Except for that Volvo, these cars are all pretty high-end Motorized and not accessible for the midclass. Are 'regular' motorized Estate cars also sold in the US? And why not? For example the BMW 3/5 series touring, 2.0 I/D or 3.0 I/D, or an Audi a4 avant 2.0TDI.
