Bought a brand new Z-1 in 1974. Best motorcycle I ever owned. Drove it for 4 years, until a car made a left hand turn in front of me. Spent 13 months in a Navy hospital learning to walk again. I'll never forget that motorcycle. Reliable as hell and a joy to ride.
Saw this bike when it was displayed at the HK bike show 2017. Ordered one the next day and had to wait 4 months for the official release and delivery to Hong Kong. Must admit i bought it purely on the looks i would drool over the 70s Z1 in my youth. Performance wise i cant fault it. I did buy the lower seat as i need to maneuver into Asian style bike parks and the lower seat made it so much easier. The lower seat is sore on the bum after about an hour of riding probably more my fault for being overweight. A 2 hour ride you can cover the whole of HK so its not much of an issue. Great bike and i get the same grin on my face today as i did riding it out of the showroom. For me this is the ultimate dream bike and i ride it more or less daily.
Great review. I had a '77 KZ1000 and it was one of my best bikes. I now have a candytone blue '22 model 900. It is the same color as the 1000. All in all, I enjoy it more than the previous model. I also have a '22 black and blue Z900 naked. The seating and comfort is better on the RS, but the Z is still my favorite. Handles super and is smooth and fast. Either way, you can't go wrong. Thanks for a wonderful video.
Hi I have got one in my garage, its the best bike iv'e ever had. The green and yellow paint is just outstanding and she is so easy to ride. Kawasaki have done a fabulous job, nice vid thanks
Really enjoyed he video on the z900rs I had z900 in the 1980s that I bought from my local motorcycle dealer I remember the guy who had it before had a nice black metal flake paint job on it plus a different four into one exhaust which sounded really nice loved the ride and handling of it and should have kept it but at the time traded in for a new Kawasaki model I’m in my sixties now so may get into biking again.
I really like your review style. I like how you do a voice over instead of just capturing audio from within the helmet. Its much clearer. I also like how you mix the video of riding, specs and still or walk around shots of the bike. This is much more appealing, to me, than just riding, showing FPV and hearing the audio through the helmet. Very nice production quality.
Hello! thanks so much for your appreciation. THis will help me to work more harder in order to give contents that really satisfy all of you and that can also give much fun. Stay tuned! I wish you a great life and great roads!
Great job man. The music is great and the quietening of the music when you talk is perfect. Your English is pretty good too! Ancestor is pronounced like “ansestor” 👍🏽
I have documented the best mods on my channel. - Tires. The OEM tires are crap. Replacing them with quality sport or sport touring tires is a must. - The shock. It's horrible, and what little damping it has, goes away when you ride it hard and the shock overheats. - Forks. Decent, but need more damping if you are a heavier rider, easy to do with heavier fork oil. - ECU Flash. Gets rid of the throttle and ignition timing restrictions. Those simple mods transform the bike into a proper sport weapon, while retaining all of the retro vintage coolness. :-)
The original Z-1 is the best in my opinion, as well as the 77 78 KZ 1000 still had the same look after that they lost it. I think the RS is the best retro bike by far!
Love it. I have yet to see a hole shot on ANY video. Someone? Let me ride it😂my ole 70 H1 500 did not produce a good holeshot. You could but yer chin needed be by the tach
Nice video 👍. Motorcycles are fun on the highway and great for trips if they have good wind protection.. a 900 cc with no windshield is useless to me. If I have a bike with no windshield it won't be used much.
I have a ‘83 Suzuki GS850G with an aftermarket windshield. I can remove it in less than a minute with no tools. I take it off for city use, but put it in while touring. Problem solved! I’ve been cross-country twice now in perfect comfort.
a 900 with no windshield is a problem, so you wodn't wanna get a Duke, or a Z900, or a MT09/MT10, or a Street Twin, or a Speed Twin, or a Monster 821, or a Streetfighters, or a Speed Triple, or a CB1000R, or a Rebel 1000... should I continue...
@@beefquiche national Cycle plexistar windshield on a Z900rs is online in their site. That big shield works great. I had 3 of them on my naked bikes. 👍
Honda beat Kawasaki to the punch and why they delayed and redesigned the Z1 to a 900 , the rest is history ! Everything about the Z900RS is leaps ahead of the old Z1 !
@@mrglock2313 - That may have been true in some circles but none of the Z1s that I personally knew (in the 70s) went 4:1. The twin set of 2:1s pumped plenty of performance.
Hello my friend. Every day more che companies are looking to this segment of the market that is asking even more to affordable bikes that Avery one can buy. And in addition at today this bikes come to be also nice and extremely valuable! Let me wish you a nice life! 👋
Hello Mitsos. If I had the possibility of being able to keep more bikes, for sure I would have at least 5 of those that I have done the review and of the others I would like to have too. I tell you this because I usually try the bikes that intrigue and interest me. And actually all the bikes I've tried have some interesting features that can be related to price, performance or other details. I hope I gave you my honest point of view! I greet you and I wish you a long trip on your bike! Ciao!
Absolutely agree (I used to have a Z1B)...but they have had to accommodate the modern frame/airbox/engine configuration of the radical z900 design so as a modern take on the Z1’s ..it’s not a bad effort
