In 1980, I was working at the Brett funeral home, right across the street from the mansion, prior to that the nuns were living in the mansion and they actually painted some of the wood and trim, white, why I will never know. At that time they started to restore the mansion and had asked us if they could park in our parking lot. We had told them they could and they told us that we could come over and see the transformation. I did at least once a week. God that place is unbelievable the workmanship of the wood is mind boggling. Believe me, you need to go there and see it to believe it. It is worth the time and money.
