saw the under the ramp in Brum , what a night and on stage with Gong & hawkwind as Big Fix, wish this music would come back again the time is right the message is still right ....
lovely old daevid allen, what a kind man he was saw gong at venue in southampton, talking heads or was it the other one, the Brook - might have been - and explained that hubs couldn't make it, had to work or summat... he drew some cartoony bits to take back for him, what a gent! RIP🥲
Saw these twice at westhoughton sport centre around 1985 first time there was a dancer on stage under a japanese flag with two torches second time they did the fantasy shift album bloody brill
The dancer under the flag was a regular of our band's (A Pencil) entourage - we knew him as Cosmic Bob. He used to come on during one of the solos in our set, though I can't remember which song it was. Our keyboard player worked at the centre, and so was able to set that gig up for us and Here & Now. We (A Pencil) all went on stage with their roadies for their encore /Stoned Innocent Frankenstein/ to have an absolute blast. After the gig, we all piled into the pool and had a mock sea battle using the inflatables. Loved every minute of that day, and every minute of the days spent in the company of these diamond geezers. Good times. Treasured memories. :)
