Other RU-vidrs: I want to be rich so I can travel the world and buy expensive things Lana: I want to be rich so I can buy a farm and host weekly parties for old people How can we not love you 😭
Kevinsaidso better yet, get rich and build an off grid community away from smart cities, where everyone can pitch in farm, grow food, fish, build workshops, hoke school, etc.
@S M Makes me cringe how socially acceptable debt is in today's age. High interest credit cards, student loans on worthless degrees, car payments, phone plans over 1,000 a year (my last plan was $100 a year)... Then people complain that they feel like a slave in the rat race...If someone is doing this, it is their choice, but I'll scoff at them if they whine about "Living paycheck to paycheck" when I can clearly see them throwing away their cash.
@@briandsouza7854 How you interpret need is up to you. Enjoyment can potentially be a need. Plenty of things I enjoy are free, such as going outside and enjoying nature. But I also enjoy camping, so I've bought the things I need to do that. And over the years, my camping gear has paid for itself. So I don’t just eat, sleep work. I also enjoy life but I don’t overdo it on unnecessary expenditures.
@@ReynaSingh You did bought camping equipment, since you "need it" for camping. So I guess that's justifiable for almost anything then, I purchased a movie ticket since I "need it" to watch the movie I've wanted to watch. I've purchased a PS4 since I "need it" play games.
Unless you spend the money on things that will save you time so you can focus your time on earning money. Like housecleaning, or a home cook for example. Assuming you can afford these things lol
In my country we have a saying that goes "you took that from my mouth" which means I was just about to say that and you said it , so yeah you took that from my mouth
I have only been to one highschool that spoke about personal finance out of 6 highschools. It is also an online course if your school offers that. But I agree, i don't think there is enough guidance and awareness in schools, and maybe one day that will be changed
If they teach money in schools then you can't be a slave to the rich. They know that. If US government wanted to FORCE schools to teach finance they would just write up some bills to do so but they don't. The rich don't want everyone to know how to make money. A burger flipper can be rich in 20-30 years if he invests correctly it isn't that hard you just have to have discipline.
I always ask "is it going to improve my quality of life?" before buying something. I read about it in the book Design your self by Karim Rashid and it applies to almost everything in life.
Agreeeeed so much on that! You can tell she’s trying to get her life together even though we don’t need to settle for anything less. We should always crave for self care and self love and to take care of our finances and everything good !
I'm saving up for when I go to university I'm only 14 and I started saving in January I've saved just over 300 pounds and I think for someone who doesn't have a job that's pretty good! (ik University is very expensive but I want to pay some of the chunk x)
Luckily in Switzerland Uni fees are low and free is your family earns low salaries. As long as you have the Academic Level. It only costs between CHF 600- 800. No student debt here.
*My tips:* *1.* you should take a step back/ zoom out and look at the world objectively. Look at what people on your social media and people around you are buying and think about it. Is it really necesary for you or you just want it because everyone else has it? *2.* invest rather than to buy. Purchase something at a reasonable price that will last and be of good use. That way you invest but don't let the prices fool you. Sometimes even though something is expensive it might not be of high quality. Look for something with a high value not high price. *3.* look at what effect something has on the nature and on you. *4.* ask yourself if you need that thing or you just want it. (If you reaalllyy want something try to find it at a lower price) If I think of more I'll wrote them down
Pro tip: Keep a record of all your expenses - even the small ones. I guarantee you will see worrying patterns over a month or so. You may see things $150 on starbucks and $250 on uber. These things pile up A LOT and end up being thousands every year. Use an excel spreadsheet or something.
Investors make up the top notch hemisphere of the wealth. That's the more reason why one should save and invest to secure profit and ensure success....🎲
@Anna Rebecca I'm a novice who is looking to make investments lately in the stock or forex market, but I've seen a lot of stock market crashing lately I'm quite skeptical about it what's my chance of being profitable?
My dear I ain't gonna lie to you my dear, the truth is that it's really profitable but at the same time it can be your worst nightmare if you happen to be at the wrong end of the rope.
This little trick might help: when I wanted to quit facebook, I deleted the apps on phone and only log in on computer, even so I only log in in private mode, the browser won't save cookies so I had to type in password everytime, it gets kinda annoying and I just stopped logging in as frequent. Same principle applies to money: make payment process harder, if you want to buy something on amazon? type your card number everytime you make a purchase, you will think twice before you actually make the purchase because you hesitate when you type in card number, and you will buy less and save more down the path.
A trick I used to do, automatically takes 10% of my income and put it into a savings account before I spend it on anything. It was called paying yourself first. That worked well. The book "The Richest Man in Babylon" is all about that. What has read that book?
Money is just as much of a tool as any other. It's neither bad nor good. The way you use it and the way you choose to acquire it define you in my opinion. If I want to get to know someone fast I just find out what they spend their money on and to what extent they would go to make money. It's that simple.
I remember someone told me that "it is not your fault that you are born poor, it's your fault if you die poor". a great mindset and self-control or discipline is the key if you want to make your life better. life really taught me the hard way.
Since childhood, one of the best things my mother taught and encouraged us is to save money. Later I came across so many people who faced frustrations just because not spending money in a correct way rather investing extravagantly. Watching your video is helping me understand how I can inspire them effectively to save money. Thank you Lana. You are not only influencing me, but also influencing those persons whom I am going to share the thoughts you expressed.
Great financial advice! Now after you put the money in your saving account, quickly learn how to wisely and safely invest your money. Saving accounts earn very little interest and can’t keep pace with inflation. However, saving is the first big step. Without saving you won’t have any money to make it work for you through wise investment planning. If you don’t know how to invest, it may be wise to get a reputable independent financial advisor to help you. Read and watch videos on the investment subject and you can learn how to invest on your own.
I only shop for clothes twice a year (autumn and spring), I set a minimal but reasonable budget and I look for second-hand but good quality items preferably with classic designs so they don't easily go out of style. Every Sunday, I plan what food I will bring to school for the rest of the week. My introvertedness prevents me from getting invited to eat out. In the groceries, I try to buy some items in their biggest bottles/boxes so they last longer.
Just a friendly reminder to anyone reading, please stay safe, keep being you, never give up and I pray all your dreams come true, as much as I pray my youtube dream comes true🙏🏽🧡
Who else loved how natural she made that squarespace ad? I love your AIM of having an Area for local elders to come to your place and the farm goal. I love working on a farm. I love the idea of thinking of how many hours you’d work at the job you hate for that YOLO purchase. Good tip
Love your videos! I once had animals and it is so enjoyable! Chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, bunnies, baby goats...they are so social! Love old people too! What a beaitiful plan! ❤
Saving money is important but one of the biggest mistakes people make about saving is that it shouldn’t prevent you having great experiences and enjoy your life. Sometimes the best thing you can do is having that trip you always dreamed of or that bottle of wine. Because one day you might regret not having had that one thing.
Hi 🤗 first I'm a big Lana fan, second I just opened up a channel and made a video for young millennials that are feeling a bit lost in life, I come from such place and I would like to create a little space for people just like me se we can talk and share thoughts 💭 about life ❤️ thank you for your time, hugs from 🇮🇹
I know some introverts that are not good with money at all. I know a guy that is constantly scratching to get money, then proceeds to spend it all on xbox games, doordash, and drugs. I make good money and feel guilty treating myself to doordash once a month and he always has more games than me including ones I want, even when I make way way way more money than him lol
*Mindset* can help👏 us👏 or destroy👏 us👏 Our *why* and *planning* it out is definitely everything💖 I've been following *Aja Dang* as an inspo / model for my finances and pushing in my own journey and thank goodness💸💃 Thank you for this video!👑

My personality is pretty materialistic and impulsive when I want something, but I’ve been able to manage it through promising to myself, “wait X amount of time, let it sit in the cart, and if you still like it after X days, then buy it without worry.” And the time frame increases depending on however more expensive the purchase price is. The promise does two things: Satisfies my strong craving that I must have it (just, later) and controlling the impulse through a framework. A lot of times I actually don’t want the item by the next day, lol - hence, saving me lots of money
Forex trading can be really profitable when taken seriously and proper risk management involved in ensuring good returns while bringing losses to the least minimal.
That's true. Would RU-vid videos count as research? as I've watched tons of videos trying to figure out what it is all about but end up compounding my confusion.
About impulsive expenses I think they are related with poor work conditions very often. I know is ironical, but when someone have a bad salary have more tendency to spend in silly things because is frustrated. If you live in a place where your salary is low in proportion to the cost of living is very difficult to change it, move to a better place requires savings. Trust in yourself in that cases requires a lot of effort. Some people ridiculize situations like share a very small appartment, living with relatives, have two works... etc But it is true that if you trust in yourself, you can rise your goal and finish that era in your life. Don't be overwhelmed by people comments! Lana advice is a good one, a short/medium term sacrifice is better for the long term :)
Only savings? Savings is just part of the equation to become wealthy! Savings + Investing (Stock market- Index funds, ETF's, Single stocks...-, Real estate or REITs) + Compound interest + the long run = WEALTH. Scared money don't make money! If you only save, inflation will eat your savings! It is very important to get real in this topic! Everyone should take control of their money and more important: everyone should learn how to invest their savings in order to become wealthy. Savings alone is not enough!😁🇵🇷
Lana you have helped me so much with your videos I can't say enough to thank you. Keep making videos you have helped alot of people.I used to have a videogame addiction and you helped me so much you have changed my life.(thanks for everything without you I wouldn't be this happy.)
Paper " money " is only as good as the government that's backing it. Put your cash into tangible assets that never lose value and which you can increase that value and transport it in the event of an unexpected relocation. Great video!
I was taking notes like crazy. You have so many good tips and I am definetly going to try them out. I love how you talked about what helped you in the past and I really think that is something that can help me. Please do more finance videos and as someone else already suggested, you should make a podcast!
I LOVE the coffe for the senior citizens idea!!! so cute and wholesome! I would also LOVE to see a video on things you don’t spend money on! this video was very helpful and inspiring as well! thank you for the great content
Anyone else laugh when she mentioned her goal of organizing senior citizen parties? I wasn't laughing in a mean way, but I was laughing at the level of uniqueness of it.
Thank you for talking about the importance of mindset and priority when we talk about money. I see you mentioned Graham Stephan’s channel, I also highly recommend his videos for saving and investing strategy!
You literally spoke my mind . I have been looking at my dream apartment and location for months now & have a certain expectation on how I want my furniture to look. That whole space and peace is what I’m aiming for .
Hello Lana, I was actually wondering if you could do a video about optimism and pessimism as well as their effect on the mindset and behaviour of a person. That would be a very interesting topic to learn about ^^
I’ve been watching ur videos for long time and just wanna say I love ur apple cheeks and ur soothing voice!! Can’t believe ur audience is growing this fast I’m so happy for u:))
As a general tip, Lana, I set percentages with a specific purpose. Everything that comes into my bank account, I immediately put x% aside. The point being, there is no excuse anymore when you do it instantly. But my biggest tip, and I could talk about this for hours since I'm so passionate about it, is to get out of FIAT and start building real assets. FIAT (being cash like USD, EUR, SEK,..) its essential worth is toilet paper. Assets are REAL money. I know, this starts falling under investments, but so important, since hyperinflation is coming our way. This means your money will evaporate standing in a zero interest rate bank account. Your 100EUR will be worth 90, then 80, then 70.. So you worked for 70EUR? My answer, buy precious metals like gold and silver and better, buy Bitcoin and altcoins. I would be happy to give somebody more information when interested. Cheers, Lana, loved the video! Had to have my 10 minutes of rambling here, I'm sorry.
“ Money is not something that we should be whispering but should be talked about.” nice one Ms. Blakely! I agree on this and I just recently understood this thought and it should really work from within first to help us change our ways. I’m glad to come across your channel! I’m inspired to create more content, too. I’m from the PHILIPPINES! 😅🥳🥰
