I know I'm late here and this might be common knowledge but I found that the diminished chord works incredibly well when played before a major 6 chord a half step down, the chords have such similar DNA and it sounds so good to my ears

Good morning Brotha! Thanks for the lesson. I'm a struggling longtime beginner. Many of your lessons keep me from giving up. Just wanted say that & thank you Man & I'm back to practicing. I really want to get this lesson down..& alot more.. But this one is special. For about 2yrs I've been trying to tune myself to your so anxious lesson for practice when I fall off in a rutt for one reason or another & when I grab my guitar to return to my dream.. I go to that lesson to snap back. & that diminished chord is the part that I love to hear a play the most. Whenever I achieve to be the guitarist I'd like to become.. I'd like to meet you and shake your hand & play a song or 2 wit'cha. Have a good day Brotha! & Thanks again.

Wow, my mind is getting opened up here. I’ve been watching the number system videos also. I just realized I can play this progression Am-Bm-Em with that diminished and solo over it with the notes in G major. Particularly that Gmajor pentatonic approach. I’ve viewed the neck through the caged system for a while now but this just opened up a new look/approach. Loving it, much appreciated

How can I get the other guys in the band on board with my use of the chord? Usually they all give me a dirty look and say “that’s not the right chord” or they say “no it’s a minor”. How do I know if I’m right

First off if it’s sounds right when you use it. It has to make the music feel good. You can’t just put it anywhere.

Hi Kerry , i post the question a couple of time in the livestreams but i never get an answer from you... so , again , i would like to know what is the fretboards radius that you are most comfortable to play with and why. Second , do you think that this paramater can influence -make easier or harder-the way this type of music is played on guitar ?(r&b on a 10 radius vs a 20 radius for example , with all those hammer on and pull off) thanks

Using that particular diminished chord (the one on the 4th string between the second and third) would only work if then resolving to a 2 or 4 chord in a key, yes? Diminished chords are best used when you resolve to a chord a half step up from any note in the diminished chord you've just played?

I see what you did there bruh. It is like using using VI7 b9 (dominant 7th with a b9) and removing the root. So if E7b9 then [E-G#-B-D-F] transforms to G# dim [G#-B-D-F]. Thanks.
