I agree with the first stipulation, but I don't think most coaches knew what to do with Steve Young until Bill Walsh talked him into joining the Niners, and, under those years of frustration of being behind Joe and in the environment of a great team, Steve Young learned to become Steve Young.

I agree Joe Montana is the goat however if Roger Staubach didn’t have to spend the first 4 years of his career doing service in the military he woulda been the goat. Even Bill Belichick would agree with me on that. Bill used to watch Roger practice years ago and when practice was over Roger would play catch with him. +martyc909 well Brett has said in recent years that he doesn't recall some of his daughter's sporting events that he attended. He's definitely showing some signs that the people closest to him are noticing.

Bazooka Ike Yeah, I've read those too. I just hoped at the time that maybe it's post-concussion syndrome, which goes away after a few weeks, but can sometimes last more than a year. But if he's still showing signs, then all is not good at all.
