my advice would be: do not stagnate yourself, always try new things, and dont be too focused in a single thing, like dealing the most damage possible or trying to break every monster part, remember why you play monster hunter, and the most importantly, to have fun
Just for fun one day I made a "trash skill" sword and shield build. Item prolonger, speed eating, free meal, earplugs. It was so good I took it to the endgame, great video!
youre totally right on the whole walking thing! it sounds kinda silly, but people really underestimate how powerful it is to simply walk to a spot where the monster isnt attacking. or, better yet, to walk to the spot where the monster will be when its finished attacking and punish it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! My "Never-leave-the-hub-without-it" skill is full earplugs. Nothing more fun then my SAED going off in the monster's face because it decided to roar instead of attack. Is my build optimal? Probably far from it. Am I having fun? You bet.
Another important thing players tend to forget is learning the Monsters weakpoints and hit zone values, Tenderising tends to alleviate this issue, but not paying attention to them can really hinder your hunts.
These tips are even more important in other games besides World. World's progression and preparation is fairly lenient, even compared to Rise, so players often don't learn the importance of building different sets. It doesn't help that World's weapon and skill variety is kind of lacking, so players tend to stick with one basic build for everything.
