Today, I will be going over the latest additions to Windows Update Restored. Previously, I demonstrated the very first release of Windows Update Web, version 3.1. That was the only version of the website we had restored at the time. But a month has passed since then and we have added 2 new websites, version 4 and version 5. This allows us to extend our supported operating systems from Windows 95 to Windows XP SP3 & Windows Server 2003.
Unofficially, you can use version 5 with Golden Browser in operating systems newer than Windows XP including the latest versions of Windows 11. 32 and 64-bit operating systems are supported too. This is the latest and newest additions to Windows Update Restored as of August 2nd, 2023.
Just a quick side note, here are the operating systems supported for WURv4 and WURv5:
Windows Update Restored v4
- Windows 98 (Partial Support)
- Windows Me (Partial Support)
- All versions of Windows 2000
- Windows XP up to SP2 (Includes x64 editions)
Windows Update Restored v5
(Officially)
- Windows 2000 SP3+
- All versions of Windows XP (Includes x64 editions)
- All versions of Windows Server 2003 (Includes x64 editions)
(Unofficially + Golden Browser)
- All versions of Windows Vista
- All versions of Windows 7
- All versions of Windows 8
- All versions of Windows 8.1

Can you bring windows update 3.1 to other languages? I have a hungarian version of win 98 se and it gives an error that the site can't be displayed! Is there any fix for this?

We need inventory files in order for that. We need old Windows 9x inventory files from back in the day that still need to be on those old computers. We can't make them from scratch.

Has there been any more luck sourcing older update for Windows 95, 98, etc.?

Yes, we have completed the inventories in English for Windows 95, and we have found nearly all the updates for both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98.
