Here's Why Crispin Glover is So Angry at Back to the Future Producer 

If anyone is confused by what he's talking about, the context is this: He was in Back to the Future and didn't do Back to the Future II. The makers of the sequel put makeup and prosthetic on another actor to make them look like Crispin Glover since he wouldn't do the film. Glover won a lawsuit against the makers of the movie and, because of that win, nothing like this can happen to another actor in Hollywood ever again. It's now against the law to do that.

A reboot is never gonna work. The trilogy worked because of the banter and personality of Marty and Doc brown. Can we just leave something in the past and enjoy it

He is a fantastic actor. My favorite part is his reaction to when he punched out Biff. Looking at his hand in disbelief, shaking and breathing heavily. That was one of the most genuine “holy shit, did I just do that?” moments in the history of acting, in my opinion. Considering who his character was, and what all he had been through with this bully and his cohorts, it was such a moment of triumph. One of the best parts of the film for sure.

Great actor. The guy who played Biff is a phenomenal actor too. He based the character on the bullies who tormented him throughout his childhood.

This guy is so seriously under rated and under employed as an actor.

In terms of acting ability in part 1 Crispin's performance was incredible. Truly if you look at the nuance he played that part in an amazing way.

Crispin Glover is an absolute legend. People call him a weirdo but he's always struck me as a person who has never been afraid to express his unique perspective on the world while only doing the projects that interest him, and NOT the the projects that don't interest him. You gotta respect the integrity and class of this guy.

I think its a shame that Crispin is recognized as a genius actor yet doesnt get major roles very often because he's considered "different or eccentric"..these qualities are what makes him so great at his job.

You can tell Crispen Glover is a Craftsman. He speaks with so much passion about how serious he takes his acting and performances. And his body of work speaks for itself

What Mr Glover brought to BTTF will never be forgotten. A very important moment in my life was watching him play George McFly and every aspect of the performance gave me something that I needed to move forward in my own young life. As an adult of 40 years now I am keen to absorb as much info and perspectives as I can regarding the making and production of the trilogy. I feel for Crispin. He will never be able to stop talking about the troubles on back to the future. He hates talking about it but its all anyone wants to talk to him about. But it is obviously weighting on him.

Back To The Future would never have been so great without Crispin Glover's superb acting. It's actually pretty amazing how so many amazing actors played in Back To The Future...Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly = Amazing, Crispin Glover as George McFly = Amazing, Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown = Amazing, Thomas Wilson as Biff = Amazing, Lea Thompson as Lorraine = Amazing. That group of actors really created something which is as close to perfection as possible when it comes to movies.

What I am most upset about is we missed what Glover was going to do us Part 2 and Part 3 that we never got to see.

Crispin is a real legend. Cult status. I wish he would have starred in more motion pictures.

I have to say I watched this movie in 1985 so that was like 34 years ago and most actors in 34 years look old AF. I can’t believe this guy looks exactly like he did then.I have to say damn he has aged well!! He needs to write a book on his secret.

Crispin Glover is one of the most interesting actors of our time. I'd rank him up there with Brando and Katheryn Hepburn He breathes 'life' in every character he plays. Even though the part may be a small one, that character becomes unforgettable. I'm watching him as Mr. World in "Gods in America" for the second time and he scares me. I never once thought he did a bad job or that the character was anything like who he is in reality. The fact that his character is so different from his person is really a testament to how great of a job he did. He is a part of history! He did a great job ! He needs to understand that roles will stretch far from who he is in real life !

I'm on Crispin's side. they could recast his character like Jennifer Parker who the replacement looked nothing like the original actress, or drop his character. The use of a mold to recreate his face on another guy is completely unfair to Crispin. Now a days, CGI achieves the same effect of taking another person but putting another face on them but at least permission is granted first from the original actor or their family if he/she died.

I love the "weirdness" in him. This man lives in a historical castle in Europe. Damn, that's the dream for me haha.

A really awesome and extremely underrated film with Crispin Glover is River's Edge (1986). One of the greatest teen films of all time.

What really shocked me was that when the sequel was released here in the Philippines in 1986 I absolutely had NO IDEA this actually happened; I too fell for the time that was actually Crispin Glover in that future scene and never in my wildest thoughts such a controversy ever existed with him and the movie/producers/director. Remember this was the 1980's; the internet more so with social media were scientific fantasies at that time and inside information was strictly limited to but a few unless you really dig using traditional paper-and-magazine gossip; of course if you also know people in the Know but heck - what would a 9 year old at that time know about it then given my location that of all and things like this were kept tight-lipped from the public at that time very effectively since there was no power of social media to easily leak it out there? 😐

Excellent interview, just a note form a production standpoint, you have a very good setup but your microphones would benefit from some additional isolation from the table, listening to this with headphones has a weird sound to it, could be some overly aggressive compressor but it seemed to be exaggerated with Crispin pokes the table which makes me believe it has to do with the isolation

My idea for a Backtothefuture sequel trilogy is as follows: It is fourty years since the events in the three movies. DocBrown's house have been abadonned for fourty years and is in a shabby state.Three youths who live nearby goes there to clean up the place and make it ready for a sale. While they are cleaning the house they find the scematics for the delorean and how the fluxcapasator makes timetravels possible. They also find a video which shows one of the youths mother(possible Jennifer Parker)and she looks totally different than she looks today. the youths also sees DocBrown holding a newspaper where Biff has the Grey's sport allmanac in his pocket from 1955. They decide to build a new Delorean from DocBrown's scematics. When they are finnished they decide to bring the Grey's sport allmanac(which is in common sale in 2022) with them. They goes back to 1955 and knows allready that MartyMcFly detained JenniferParkers father when he took the caseboard apart in the first movie to use it as a regular board.The youths prevent this from happening by giving MartyMcFly another board to stand on while flying away from Biff. They also gives their fathers the Grey's sport allmanac. When they comes home they all live in wealth and luxury and JenniferParker looks like she looked in the first movie(played by cgi of ClaudiaWells or a lookalike)and it gives a happy ending to the first movie xD In the second movie three neighbours to the first movies aganoists who are envious discover videos that show everything was different just a few days ago.They start stalking the three youths and finds out about the Delorean timemachine.They also finds out about the Grey's sport allmanac.They decide to steal both the delorean and bring with them the Grey's sport allmanac. In 1955 they gives the Grey's sport allmanac to their grandparents.They then goes home to a life in wealth and luxury. In the third and last movie,our three antagonists suddenly wakes up and see everything has changed around them.They see the three neighbour youth now living in wealth and luxury and suspect that they has stolen the delorean and gone back to 1955. They decide to go back themselves and change the events that the three neighbours have caused. But there they meet a young DocBrown(cgi) that warns them about making any more changes.He tells them he was contacted by his future selves and that he told him to warn eventual other timetravellers.

I agree with Crispin Glover in one that they use his face, instead of killing his character. But Crispin was not playing in 2nd movie because he was unhappy with ending that shows "money buys happiness" but he was HAPPY to play in part 2 if he gets more money for it xD

I never knew that either, just read he didnt want to be in BTTF 2 so they used an old mould of his face from the first one and used to create prosthetics for another actors face and used some unused footage with some camera trickery to fool people to think it was him without Crispin's permission...i luved the first one and he was incredible in it but BTTF 2 is one of my top 5 of all time, i can't believe they did this to him...i don't blame him being really pissed, that is some F***ed Up Shit!! The producer should be f***ing ashamed of himself and also tarnishing this movie with that shit...that producer should not work again💪
