Here's Why I'm Trading My Chevy Bolt For A Tesla Model 3 

Funny but we had pretty much the same experience and we are picking up a blue RWD 3 this Saturday. I am no Musk fan nor Tesla fan boy whatsoever but after running the numbers here in NJ...$7500 federal rebate, $4000 NJ state rebate and zero sales tax...it just makes way too much sense to ignore it. It also helps when the local Honda/Toyota/Nissan/Subaru dealers are still trying to charge $4000-6000 market adjustments, $3000 paint protection packages and $700 document fees on top of MSRP. Add the sales tax on top of all that and you start to question why we can't spread the Tesla ordering simplicity across all new car transactions. As far as I'm concerned, all those other dealers can burn to the ground....I'll never give them a dime of my money in the future. Their greed knows no bounds.

I did basically the exact same thing a few weeks ago (exact same spec/color). The Oregon rebates are being suspended until more funding comes, so I went for it while I knew I could get the incentives.

I own both. Wholeheartedly agree with your choice.

Wow, what a great idea. Taking a vehicle that you can get repaired at a Chevy dealer but now can wait weeks to have a mechanic come to him. Now, the Chevy can run on 110 outlet and doesn't need a special $5000 charger like that.

My situation: I have a 2023 Bolt 2LT that I can buy off lease in 8 months for $19,800. It was a msrp swap from GM due to the battery recall. I'm also considering a used rwd Model 3, because it would qualify for the used EV tax credit. Am I crazy for considering a probably 4 year old Model 3 over a 1 year old Bolt? My priorities are handling, fun, and practicality. Fast charging isn't much of a consideration, because I charge 99% of the time in my garage.

I picked up my Model 3 this past Saturday. Exact same options (but I leased.) Very happy so far! Only regret, white seats would have been better (already experienced the sun heated black seats on bare skin… yowch!) White model with white seats would have been the same price, probably a better way to go. But I’m still very happy.

Each of us are free to choose the vehicle you want to drive and I respect this brother's decision to choose Tesla . But he is talking in circles while explaining what makes the Tesla the best choice for him . He just ordered a stripped down version of the model 3 and then said that he chose it over the Hyundai Ionic 6 because the Hyundai is too expensive after all of the of the options that he would choose . But anyway the purchase of an ev is a no-brainer right now anyway .
