My body does the same thing. I think it's water weight which is totally normal. I use to weight myself everyday and I would notice that my weight would increase a week before my period. Just drink enough water and take good care of yourself, water weight goes away a few days after your period.
My pre-period cravings change every month. Right now I am craving pumpkin pie and it's the middle of summer so....yeah Update: now I am craving bread, sushi, and yogurt.
I can't believe this woman has an MD. This just shows how little MDs know about nutrition. Please get a licensed Dietitian on the show. I can't believe how many times this woman said "causes" on here, and how much pseudo science she spoke on here. Rachael's reflections are probably more accurate than what this woman said.
You gain water weight even upto 10lbs during ur period so dont weigh yourself if on a diet bc its gonna go away like bam Also make sure to drink enough water
I could eat a house right before my period. I crave burgers and cheesesteaks though. Not really sweets. It's so hard. I just want to eat all the time non stop three to four days before hand. Then when I get my period, I throw up the first few days and everything returns to normal. I feel cursed. 😪
When you crave pickles your body might be looking for extra vitamin A. Test it out..Buy some Vit A and take it for a month daily and watch what your cravings are like during that month and if your body feels better.

As a carnivore, reliant on depleted soils & water so filthy it must be distilled before I can drink it...I am forced to drink electrolytes on the daily. I take in far more than the RDA for sodium and never put on an oz of water weight. Carbs are the reason you gain water weight from sodium. Carbo-loading, which athletes do, fills muscles with glycogen, a storage form of sugar, which holds more water. Cutting back on salt is meaningless if you're still eating a bunch of carbs. The girl in this clip looks like she loves a carb or two.
