William the Conqueror, having dealt brutally with the rebellions in Northern England, moves southwards to confront a new threat in East Anglia. In the year 1071, Norman forces and a Saxon-Danish rebel alliance confront one another on the Isle of Ely, in what is known as the Great Ely Rebellion.

I recommend a none-fiction book by Peter Rex called "Hereward." Rex has written many books about this time period. Also James Wilde has written several books about Hereward. I'm reading one, and have three more to read. Victor Head wrote 'HEREWARD", which is illustrated, and none-fiction. David Churchill wrote his William the Conqueror novels. I believe there are three in the series. I'm reading Churchill's "The Leopards of Normandy:Duke". There's also a pamphlet I bought on Anglo Saxons, I forgot the author, but he also has a range of short books. Cambridge University are doing a one year certificate on Medieval studies. It's all on Internet. It's £3,000. Oxford are offering a one week summer residential for £1,750. BBC has a History Magazine. If you want to see The Staffordshire Hoard, it is currently on display The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent. If you want to see artefacts from Sutton Hoo, go to the British Museum in London. It's free. The British Library has documents on Hereward.
