I kinda felt sorry for Katnip at the end . I know he's a sadistic bully, but sending him freezing to the North Pole with no food was too much🤣 Herman is a jerk. I just always wished to see Katnip win against Herman a couple of time. Katnip is more lovable.
@@dorourke105 Wrong! Tom and Jerry could talk but they just didn't do it too often. Tom sang : 🎶🎶Is you is or Is You ain't my baby🎶🎶 Tom often said : Don't you believe it!
@@vintagetvandexciting Mercer was also an animator. He "accidentally" landed the voice role of Popeye after he was caught clowning around with fellow employees at the animation studio, imitating Popeye, around the same time Fleischer was giving the original Popeye voice actor the boot.
Katnip complains about their singing... while sleeping in the underside of a moving train. He shouldn’t have been able to hear anything, let alone fall asleep.
Reminds me of those guys who can sleep through a freaking hurricane with crap flying and crashing everywhere, but wake up when you let out a mosquito sneeze. Like their brain filters out all but very specific sounds
The song says, "Katnip the cat, packs his bags beneath the house!" And the drawing shows him running away from the house with his suitcase and _golf clubs_ lol!
Recuerdo esta caricatura, aqui en Mexico dentro del show de Gasparin (Casper). Y el raton Herman conserva su nombre original, pero Katnip el gato se le conocio aca como; Sir Gaton
1:13-1:20 So, the sound of the mice singing bugged him and woke him up? Not the fact he was outside a moving trains, right between the very loud wheels?
Ah this cartoon refreshed my mind i used to watch this show called harvey toons herman and katnip have too much similarities with tom and jerry miss those glory days. Many cat and mouse cartoons were based on tom and jerry I guess
Why why Herman and Katnip. Herman and Katnip are the rip offs Tom and Jerry. Herman is a rip off to Jerry Katnip is a rip off to Tom. Tom and Jerry is way better than Herman and Katnip. end of comment.
No, not really. "T&J" and "H&K" are just two "cat and mouse" teams with their own set of adventures. And unlike "Tom and Jerry", "Herman and Katnip" actually talk.(thanks to the talents of Arnold Stang and Sid Raymond)
I like H&K less because every cartoon of theirs has the exact same plot (copying & pasting from a recent Facebook chat or mine): The Paramount animation wasn't so bad, but the writing was formulaic and lazy. Here's the layout of each and every Herman & Katnip cartoon: 1.) Katnip is terrorizing the mice while Herman is away. 2.) Fade to Herman, who's on his way home and singing (tone-deafly!) to himself. 3.) When Herman arrives, he's greeted with a gloom and doom report by the spokesman of the other mice, who are all completely demoralized and at wits end on what to do about Katnip. 4.) Herman becomes enraged and vows to destroy Katnip. 5.) Herman effortlessly destroys Katnip (usually KILLING him), and all the mice celebrate. THE END.
@Drop the Chalupa! Even though you rooted for Jerry, you couldn't help but feel sorry for Tom, lots of times; Tom is actually on the likeable side and isn't a brainless twit like Katnip, but is really more a victim of his bumbling and overconfidence. Tom isn't always out to destroy Jerry, sometimes Jerry is having boisterous company or otherwise annoys Tom, and other times Tom is threatened with being kicked out if he doesn't catch mice. Katnip, however, is just both idiotic and malicious, having no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
