Our first time at Hermanfest and Roundhill Campsite in the New Forest. What a fabulous weekend of off grid camping with a group of about 40 other vans. We enjoy good company, great weather and the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest with the ponies and donkeys roaming free. We meet new friends and old. Put it together with a Scruffs dog parade and a yummy buffet with a quiz and a bit of dodgy bingo and you have the makings of a cracking weekend. Thanks for watching our videos. We include all things to do with motorhomes, campervans, van conversions, caravans and the great outdoors. We mainly tour the UK and camp around 80 nights per year in our 2021 IH Motorhomes N-680 CRL luxury VW Crafter van conversion. It’s very refreshing to be able to choose a pitch at any angle, anywhere on the campground. There are a few “no camping” signs up but mainly for safety or private property reasons. The lack of facilities will put some people off but if you are happy to test yourself with similar to wild camping, this is the place 😃🚐 Trev

That was another great video, you really showed how lovely the campsite was. It was a great weekend and your video was a fantastic reminder for us, so thanks for including us in the footage because we really had a wonderful time meeting everyone. I’m going to show the video to may parents tomorrow, they’re 91 and 92 and I know they will really enjoy seeing the horses and hopefully us with the dogs. Thanks as always for sharing a really entertaining video.

It’s easy to get lost in the New Forest without phone signal or a map but Sue made sure she kept an eye open for markers 😀 Sophie is a sweet dog but is quite nervous. Wow this looked like a really amazing weekend. I'm going to refrain from making a moment by moment comment as that would likely be so terribly long. That sure looked like one huge spread of food. It's kind of neat when everyone makes their own dish for a meetup like that. Unless of course you end up with 3 or 4 of the same dish aaaahahaha. Great video, guys. So glad you're able to get out there and have fun!

Hello 🙋‍♂️ Just enough introductory intrusion with regard the notice boards - without causing to much disruption or annoyance to the peacefulness of intrusiveness through - being unwelcome or uninvited noise - with, the only sound being natural nature - at its very best !! The owners have got this park spot on - hopefully it’s stays like that and is never sold to be opened up as a; “family entertainment site” with all the bells 🔔 and whistles 🥳 that - that would bring !! If after a few days of solitude with personal peaceful thoughts of being there you still leave stressed - then, goodness me - you do have some anger issues that need taken care of !! This campsite is definitely a back to nature site with good old fashioned camping enhanced by our own onboard comforts. Internet and phone gadgets were redundant which made it a perfectly relaxing experience 😃👍🏻 Trev

One off ourfav places to visit most off the sites on the new forest were army camps or are areodromes for the Americans before the Dday landings a beautiful video trev and sue all the best donny

Just watching your latest video. On your recommendation I bought van front cover from Taylormade. But see you're using the ones which create condensation. Really like them.

The external screens are brilliant and are essential from September to April to minimise condensation on the inside of your cab windows. The lightweight internal screens can be fitted individually to windows in the summer to keep the sun off and we find there is not much condensation at all in summer purely due to the overnight external / internal temperature being similar. That’s the only reason for using the internal screens. Other Vanners had their external screens on to keep the cab cool but having both types gives us the choice. We also left the external screen at home on this tour to save space. After we return from Europe in October we will only use the external screen again 😃 Excellent observation on your part, I will try to add this point to a future video 🚐👍🏻 Have a great weekend 😃 Trev

Hahaha that’s so funny…. Sue had private hair time after I teased her 🤣 Sophie seemed to enjoy the dog show. Oscar however didn’t like it at all as he was frightened of some of the other dogs in the parade. It was a fun and memorable weekend 😃👍🏻 Trev

Do use the poweroak like a hookup at a site? I hope that makes sense. Can you tell me what model you use (poweroak) and where is it best to buy from. Thanks joe

Hi Joe, My Poweroak is the 500 model which would not be sufficient to connect to the van as a hook-up for very long unless to keep the lights and fridge and water pump working for a short period. We tend to use ours for charging phones, tablet, laptop and cameras and in winter I use it for the TV to prevent the TV draining the leisure battery when there is not much solar power available on the long grey days. It acts as a second leisure battery and its portable so you can use it outside in the awning, in the house or garden and other places. They are available online on their web site or Amazon Poweroak Store.
