I remember this song fondly. A few years ago, I was in Zermatt hiking down a trail, and we mistakenly went down a closed trail. It was iced over and we had to basically slide our way down. We planned to be back in town a few hours before sunset, but we were still sliding our way down and the sun was setting. Eventually we started to hear music, so we followed it. When we got there, this song was playing. We warmed up and had a few beers and finally made our way back into town. Swiss skiers love them mountain mamas and west virginia.
"i hear her voice, in the morning how she calls me, the radio reminds me of my home far away, and driving down the road i get the feeling that i should have been home yesterday. yes-ter-daaaaayyy! :) so sweet

Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River. Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze. Country roads, take me home to the place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads. All my memories gather round her, miner's lady, stranger to blue water. Dark and dusty, painted on the sky, misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. Country roads, take me home... x2 I hear her voice in the morning hour, she calls me, the radio reminds me of my home far away. And driving down the road I get a feeling that I should have been home yesterday, yesterday. Country roads, take me home... x2 West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads. x5 Take me home, country roads x2
Every year, a group of British scouts get together at a big festival called Confido. It has been and will always be a tradition to sing and dance to this to end the weekend. This song holds so many memories, confido is amazing
I grew up going to young farmers discos when I was like 3 and this version of this song was played every time, nostalgia hits me like a brick wall when I hear it
I love Hermes House Band! My parents sang this in harmony on road trips. It was John Denver version. But, HHB got the spirit of it and added a contemporary twist!.

I drank half a bottle of Jager and I was watching AMV hell and this song was in the credits and hearing it made me burst in to tears. I don't know why but yeah.
Hit really hard a few days ago. I visited my mother on the countryside last week. Grew up there and when i look at the city i really feel like i simply belong on the countryside.
Nothing beats the original but I'd bet my last dollar John would have loved this performance beyond belief. This is an awesome homage to his love of music and land.
Erano gli anni 2000 quando questo brano correva su eMule e Torrent, all'epoca associata erroneamente all'artista Gigi D'Agostino, bei ricordi. Grazie per averla condivisa.
My dad and I always have a bond for music, whenever I sing the songs he plays he joins me and always gives me a high five, and this song is the song we bond on the most. Looking back at our memories always brings 1:09 🥰

Matt Leach Ive heard the John Denver a long time ago, always seemed to be at every big event in my life. But this version I heard at a barn party and love it XD
+TheFlyingOstrich it's not about West Virginia, though that state takes so much pride in this song, that when their college football team plays games, the fans stand up in their seats and sing it at the end of every game. it's a universally loved song because it captures the love people have for their home towns. or home cities. or home countries.
This song warms my heart everytime i listen to it, doesnt matter in my car or my tractor it always motivates me to do more good for my country. 2019-02-03
