your fish farm needs skylight over the water to work best, will still work but much lower rates, and you should build automeat at the other chunk so you don't stop passive mob spawning

Hi Sno, couple recommendations from a guy with an unpronounceable name ;-) 1. the pillars were only there to put a nether portal to optionally put aminuls to the nether (horses). If you care only for meat - they can be removed. 2. The farm I build ( 9 modules with 4 platforms each, 36 platforms total) had 98% of spawn success, so I had to have an exact 20s flush cycle matched perfectly to the spawn attempts that happen exactly every 20s. You have 2 platforms, so the probability of spawn success in each 20s cycle is probably around 12% (20% if you do the next trick), so you can have the same seth bling clock to flush for 10s (or even 15s) and wait for a minute, or two (3-6 cycles 20s cycles) 3. with the void around the farm, I am not sure about spawn attemps that start outside of the farm. I would make sure I have a 5-6 block walkway around the farm below Y14 to make sure that spawn attempts happen outside as well, because they can end up inside the farm. This increases chance of successful spawn by up to 80% (so from 12% with 2 layers to 20% per cycle). 4. make sure that the biome in the farm is not beach, river or other ocean crap, because nothing gonna spawn there, but you probably did that check already.

Found this on Wiki for you Snocrash. Using a regular fishing rod there is a random wait time between 5-45 seconds. Using the lure enchantment on a fishing rod decreases the wait-time by 5 seconds per level. If the bobber is not directly exposed to sun or moonlight the wait time is doubled. If the bobber's block is being rained on the wait time will be cut by about 20%.

Hey! He used my comment in the video! I'm internet famous now! I have started to try this challenge as well and i found an extremely easy and efficient source of food is to just cook up the dozens of stacks of fish i get after using the afk fish farm. I seriously have 2 double chests full of cooked fish. Fish seems to last just as long as the steak and I have a ton of it anyway. I've since killed off all my cows since they were barely keeping me fed anyway.

you can fish indoor but it will be 50% harder. You can easely move NPCs with boats. exelent video btw ;)

nice video, man! I am looking forward to see the yield of this farm! I think named animals dont count to the mob cap so you may as well use some nametags from fishing and name kevin and belinda! and whatever animals you have hanging out there. You do need a sky access for the fish farm for some reason. also you probably has enough enchanted bows and fishing rods to make a super awesome gear probably with mending.

why dont you do a cobble gernerator thats really fast and non afk so i could fish or something ( i saw one that involves the wither but no tute.. :( ) Also i remember a auto wood one you mentioned near ep 9 i think i could be really off but i would like these incorporated in. Please!

Yes, make a void world, there are plenty of videos on youtube for that, and then make a random world and copy the chunks with mcedit and put them in the void world.

Love the meat farm idea. Far to many of the meat cooker farms require sitting there afk to breed the animals. Given that animals can only breed every few minutes and it takes about a mine craft day for the babies to grow up those methods are rather annoying. The only bad side of this farm is if your spawn chunk isn't easy to prevent spawns on, the effectiveness would be greatly diminished. I am curious if you could build this farm in the nether? Since the spawn chunk doesn't affect you when your in either the nether or the End dimension it might be easier than clearing the spawn chunks.

I tried pushing hopperminecarts into netherack, but the hoppers no longer pulled items through top of netherrack. Can anyone else confirm? tested v1.9.2

For what it's worth, I have a small pond outside my house in 1.9.2 which I've been gradually filling with dirt, and I noticed grass spreading underwater. Possible glitch?

for the minecraft recording i use some basic stuff but it's heavily overclocked. i5 @ 4.7 GHZ w/16GB RAM, and an Nvidia GTX970 running at about 130%

+Snocrash My coment: "i built this exact spawner and it does not work. i put the sieling at the build maximum and have a 45 block drop. i stood somewhere between 25 and 30 blocks away for long periods of time and not a single mob spawned. i am in normal mode. Please help.... (i have always had problems with mob spawners, none of them ever spawn anything. The last one i built before this one was made by mumbo jumbo, and it was the most sucessfull one, yet his had a gigantic spawn rate as mine only spawned a few skelletons and zombies an hour untill i quit the game, then it stoped working too)" thing is, i do still have some cave sistems to light underneeth it but nowhere near enouth to spawn 0 mobs in a freaking day afk. very few mobs have been spawning since i upgraded to 1.9 (the latest one, i can't remember). i built a mobspawner in a void world and still verry little spans
