Honestly the best thing I can think of for you to use the joker on is rockets. After all it's only a matter of time before everyone gets an elytra and while enchantments are also really nice they don't guarantee the same level of repeat purchases

Looking at a lot of the suggestions makes me realize that a lot of people forget that the Hermits need to collect these resources cause it's their shop and it won't just appear out of nowhere 😂

Doc’s plotting to make everyone pay in sand, so using the joker for sand would be a huge economic move. Doc’s trying to make the sand shop essentially the metric for the value of a diamond.

Ideas for the Joker permit 1) Enchantment books (or just Mending books with the shop being called 'The Fisherman's Wharf' or something 2) A shop that sells deeds for land plots in the future market and games districts 3) As minister of transport, you could also sell boats and horses or permits to use them (operator's license)? 😅 could lead to some silly inspection moments. "Oi! You got a license for that horse?" Congratulations again, and thanks for sharing!

Since you've got all concrete *and* a terracotta colour, maybe team up with people to make like a coloured-goods superstore

Form a syndicate for the concrete... It is really lucrative but it's so grindy to make. The dyes are easy; squid farm, bonemeal farm, flower farm... you're golden. It's the harvesting of sand and gravel, that'll really eat your time. With a syndicate you can share the tasks and even get help with building the dye farms.

Joker suggestion, sell Diamonds, basically allows False to buy whatever she wants at a price that she sets, while everyone else that doesn't have a permit to sell certain items can just buy Diamonds using these items. This could easily help her change the game several times and be flexible on what to trade for Diamonds. Example: Today she sells 1 Diamond for a stack of sand, which can help her buy some wood as the wood will be sold for sand Tomorrow she sells 3 Diamonds for Trident and then sell that Trident for 1 Diamond block in a different shop The possibilities are endless here.

It’s finally your season to have a monopoly on the shopping district. I love this. Joker should definitely be used for gunpowder or rockets. Maybe get one of the neighbors to help if it’s too much.

And Stress burping randomly at the end... she's living up to her monster title haha. All these fun hermit interactions are great XD Saving up the joker would be nice because it could be used as competition with someone else.... or maybe a joint shop with Ren/Iskall/Beef to share the prize? The concrete permit is huge though, everyone loves a good concrete I like how everyone loves the hat office, it's very cozy and I hope it stays there regardless of who becomes the next minister of doing nothing 💖

I think that the best thing to use the joker for (at least this early on in the season) is leverage. If you threaten to take away somebody’s monopoly, they would probably be willing to cut you into their profits or give you reduced prices. You could seriously sweat doc by threatening to open a log shop that doesn’t use sand as currency

I mean stealing doc's monopoly on wood would lead all the hermit to your shop to not have to shovel sand, and it would annoy doc, which is funny

Make the joker card the sand card to steal it from Scar, and then trick Doc into accepting it. He will charge sand for wood and then have to turn around and sell it instead of using it for any projects because he has to keep stocking the shop. Fully a move to mess with Doc without necessarily making more work for you.

Doc is needing woods and skizz and beef have 2 permits he needs. Word is, he is offering 50% of earnings. May be able to add some extra circumstances.

For the Joker you should have a diamond shop, where you sell diamonds for other items you need

Rockets would be a huge income source, i bet they are the most used item on almost any server ^^

You could host a Dragon’s Den style show where the other Hermits pitch you ideas for the shop and then you negotiate a cut of the profits. Tango offers to make a concrete farm and keep the shop stocked and you get 25% of the diamonds.

You could use it for stamps, so the post office can't sell them and you indirectly control the mail system :)

I think you won because you had the right combo of caution, PVP skills and ability to confidently seem quite scary.

Since Docm77 will be charging sand and you got the concrete permit, making a deal with him, maybe involving the joker permit, could work out great. I believe this team up has potential even if the goals aren't similar at the start.

Bulk permit? Sell what ever you want as long as it is in bulk? Maybe do speicial orders and charge what you want? Maybe you charge gravel and sand, when you need stock for the concrete shop.

I have a suggestion for the joker, Doc wants sand and probably other stuff, he also made a tunnel bore which allows him to easily get diamonds, you could choose to sell diamonds for stuff and share the “profit” with doc for providing the diamonds, need stuff hard to get?, make everyone else work for you.

imagine being able to sell "a barrel full of stuff" or "a shulker box full of stuff" so you could "theoretically" be able to sell anything anytime you want

The best use I can think of for the Joker is content. You could even make a deal with Doc being like: Cut me in with some of your sand profits and you'll agree you won't use the Joker to break his attempted monopoly. That or make an agreement directly with the person who has the sand permit.

Big brain move is to have the Joker on selling Diamonds, and then you can sell diamonds and the hermits pay with permits. You have the permits but the other hermits get to borrow these permits for you and make "your" shop that "you" own and mantain.

You'll have to ask one of the more redstone oriented hermits with help to make a semi-auto afk concrete farm. Then all you'll have to spend time getting gravel and sand which shouldn't be too bad overall.

Joker ideas: Elytra, ALL netherite (includes debris), ALL prismarine variants, you could monopolize minigames this season if you really wanted to do so. You can monopolize all the deepslate variants as it is very grind heavy and could be charged for a premium. All storage monopoly which would be shulkers, chests and barrels. This would also include the ender chest. All end items is another option. Or even all nether items. Just some ideas. :D

Congrats on the demise win! Oh that prize tho, a wild card certainly makes things very, very interesting. I would definitely hold onto the joker permit for a little while to see how the dust settles. I can see it being used in an interesting storyline, particularly after watching what Doc's doing 😁

You could claim all items with even or uneven numbers or go for contracts which only you can administer. You could contractually take over everything.

Doc is charging sand for everything he's selling - maybe you could make a deal with him to get some of that sand? Doc also has lots of gravel, since he has a bartering farm. That should make selling concrete easier.

based on iskall's video saying it's a "diamond printing machine", i think flying rockets would be great to use the joker permit towards :P

Setting up a piglin farm for gravel for concrete and you can use it for your joker card too depending on what you want to sell with it. Then you only have to grind endless sand :)

Tip for producing concrete: while it may not be that efficient, gravel is a possible result from piglin trades. Cleo would probably be willing to help with a bartering farm as she will need the soul speed books

services, you buy chunks of time from hermits say an hour for 10 diamonds and whatever that hermits strongest skillset is, is what you then sell, say one of the builder hermits sells you an hour you can then sell that service for 20 diamonds, redstoner troubleshooting or setting up for an hour for 20 diamonds, essentially an agency for minecraft skills

You could use the joker to sell hermits' services, offer the hermits a small cut of their services that you put up for sale on a noticeboard

I always love these videos, hermitcraft is kinda like a podcast to me, I'll often listen to old episodes in the background to catch up on episodes I missed. and when new ones come out I'm always so immersed.

Start a blackmarket with the joker so u can sell everything or anything that you have leftover from any project you worked, basically being able to sell ur leftover bits.

Saddles and Totems require a raid farm to supply, which would also produce lots of other valuables like redstone, gunpowder and emeralds to sell via the joker

if you make a raid farm for totems and saddles, you could use the joker permit for a redstone shop which usually sell well

Sticking a thumb in the wood pie would be hilarious because it's turned into a contest between big salmon and docm. You could do woods for diamonds instead of sand and take all the profits. But I understand if you want something easy to farm instead.

the joker could be used for a "diamond permit", where you accept other resources for diamonds, or you could do something along the lines of "mystery boxes"/"filled shulker boxes"? :)

this season specifically the hermits have really become besties. its like they finally realized they'd been friends playing on the same server for a decade and it shows. They are so much more willing to mess with each other and jump right to killing each other. I expect the pranks and traps and whatever fictional conflict arises to be next level this season.

Concrete shop, sell powder. And incorporate a printer machine where you fill a bank with powder, it gets conveyored through water and into a blast chamber so hermits can also pay a diamond or so for the service of afking at your powder-ificator

If you use it for services you will get one of the stillest monopolies. You can then control all services. Maybe you can share the permit in exchange for a share of the profit so you can become rich. Maybe that’s like possible. They will probably wanna balance it so your can propose that the permit can only 5-10 services at a time. Maybe you can use that for something smarter. You could also get like redstone or something really fundamental. You could also sell your permit in exchange for multiple permits. You could maybe achieve that by making someone jealous of someone’s monopoly and still your permit but that would be kinda risky because another person has the power to end any monopoly.

I think you should use the joker to work with doc. He can have all but one wood permit using it (presumably, maybe it can be both of the remaining wood permits), and he'd certainly be willing to give you plenty of diamonds and sand for it, not even just as a one time thing. Doc is really not the villain either. He just wants to do cool things, and needs lots of sand for those cool things. If he can't use the only method of farming sand automatically, and can't get enough just digging by himself, then its perfectly reasonable for him to go about things the way he is.

I just noticed that the goggles on False's head are farther apart than her eyes and now I can't unsee it.

bartering farm for gravel seems like the way to go and if you do it might be worth using the joker for blackstone or another bartering item

I’d suggest the joker permit be used for dyes, you’ll want dyes to make your concrete/powder anyways plus dye is a commodity for banners/glass/wool/sign coloring.. also not sure if glow ink is a dye or its own but that alone could make a fortune from selling.

An out of the box thought for the Joker item. What if you didn't sell an item with it? In past season, certain hermits used to sell 'Services'. Mumbo used to sell redstone consultation, Cleo sold armor stand setups, etc. You could talk to the other hermits to see if anyone would be interested in doing something like that again. Then set up a service shop so that if any hermit wants to sell a service, they'ed have to sell it through your shop with you doing the marketing and taking a cut of profits. That way, even if it's not profitable, it could be fun.

Gag idea for the Joker: Sell Hermits, set up traps & such to capture a Hermit & sell them in the store (likely thier head) to redeem themselves they have to perform 1 service to whoever bought them.

You could use the joker on wood - since docs making everyone pay in sand I think they’d rather use your shop. And it’s a pretty easy farm to setup

Copper might be pretty good for the joker since it's easy enough to find and people have more use for it now? Personally I'd choose something that would be fun to collect so stocking won't become too much of a chore. Whatever you do, I look forward to seeing what the shop will look like!

Joker for rockets they always makes lots of diamonds. Shulkers (if you feel like making shulker farm) or emeralds (sincd you have saddles and totems you can make raid farm). Or mending books(or enchanted books in general idk how the pernit is) with villagers

Lichen is an absolute winner. The farm is dead easy. Sell them 1 diamond per stack. Get that shop made first and fast and they will come.

Use the joker permit for stamps and take over the post office. Think that would be a good story to explore.

Worth noting, it's probably a good idea to get a time limit on whatever contracts you sign. I've already seen a few hermits sign revenue sharing contracts with no expiration date, which could leave one person stuck in a bad contract unless both parties mutually agree to end the contract. That, and consider if you want to sign an exclusivity deal or not. That is, you can offer multiple hermits the ability to sell concrete and force them to compete on prices while you sit back and collect profits, or sign a deal that they're the only ones who can sell concrete. Concrete is incredibly grindy, but this season it's a bit less manual. With a TON of infrastructure, you can automate all the dyes, gravel with piglin bartering, turning concrete powder into blocks, and automate the crafting of everything too. The only manual part is sand collection. It's an incredibly valuable permit, but it's also one of the most difficult permits to keep fully stocked due to the volume of sales and the effort involved. It might be worth signing a contract with another hermit for a few months while you get the relevant infrastructure in place, or spend that time negotiating a better deal with another hermit later. If someone goes through all the trouble of setting up the infrastructure for concrete, they'll probably want to renew their original contract when it expires, which puts you in a better negotiating position when the contract expires.
