Hermitcraft 9: A Season Finale 

Hello! Thanks for watching everyone. I wanted to pin a quick request for you to read before you comment. I know it is so easy to dive into complaining about all the things that didn't happen, or that weren't perfect. But before we let the negativity flow through us, maybe it would be more helpful to comment the things you DID enjoy, rather than the things you didn't. Next season I can look at all the things people liked, and do more of that, without having to read all the complaints now before the holidays. I'll do a couple post-mortem streams after christmas, and we can go into how to improve things in a live conversation, but generally complaining here isn't going to fix the season now, it's just going to affect hermits mental health. So tell me, what were some of your favourite moments? :D

I don't care how innocent the context, Gem and Pearl riding a camel together will always be a scary sight.

As it turns out "murder camel, murder camel, murder camel, murder camel" now lives in my head permanently. The idea behind the Soup Group was an excellent one, picking a hermit or two to base adjacent to creates such a good vibe to the series.

I love how when Ren asked you if you brought your sword, you said "always" without any hesitation

I don't have Twitter, so I'll just go about it this way. Gem, I thought you might like to know that I was showing my 6 year old daughter the world download and she fell in love with your base. She said "what!? WHAT!?! IT'S SOOO AMAAAAZING! I LOVE IT DADDY" she spent the next half hour walking around there in absolute amazement. It was pretty adorable

Felt like an entire lifetime passed sinced the season started.. The season was so full of life ranging from the egg hunt, the king, empires, all the wars, TGC, DD2, etc. It feels fitting to end it 5 days before Christmas. _See ya next year!_ _Soup Group Forever!_

Season nine was a fantastic season, I discovered Gem during season nine and I can't WAIT to get to watch a FULL SEASON!

The genuine fear in their voices when Ren asked if you had your sword - incredible! All jokes aside, thank you so much for a WONDERFUL season. There were so many lovely builds, and so many lovely interactions; I'm still thinking about your Ghost Salt Levels during Blood on the Clocktower, and it puts me back in stitches every time. And I can't wait to see what inspires you next season, because I know it's gonna be a gem.

Gem, we (my girls and I) adored the statues and the Soup Group sessions this season. Of course, that Gargantuan Cherry Tree really does shine beautifully from your base. I must say, it’s great that you managed to keep your Diamond sword Gem Behind You 2.0 the entire season (we won’t talk about how 1.0 disappeared early on). Have a most excellent Christmas 🎄

The last 5 minutes were suitably epic. This season was amazing, but should also be remembered as the last season TFC took part in. RIP.

I said it on twitter, but it bears repeating. Thank you for a wonderful and inspiring season of videos Gem, I can't wait to see what you do next season. You've inspired me to become a better builder, to think about areas and what can go in them, and I've seen you build enough roofs that maybe I can actually build a half decent one now. This season was great and the cinematic end with the shaders was perfect, I was worried for a second we wouldn't get that final view of everything.

From “Behind you, Gem!” to “GeminiSlay”, the fun-with-friends vibe has been the most enjoyable. A suggestion for the next person to do an Elven theme, keeping the new light level mechanics in mind, would be to try the tree elf theme….open to the air, partly on the ground between trunks, partly on platforms among the leaves, all roofed by leaves, the occasional wall for privacy. No need for massive clearing or massive block collecting, especially if building in an already-existing forest….reference Lothlorien from the Lord of the Rings books. One could even create a massive tree simply by growing trees on top of tree branches, touching up as needed. Less mega-work, more fun-with-friends.

I guess you could say season 9 is "BEHIND YOU GEM!"

The three of you riding around and showing off your bases was so wholesome. The end where you did a recap made me cry and the fan art at the end made me full blubber. My favorite part was your relationship with Etho and Doc. Two minecraft old gods you thrashed and then became siblings with. ❤❤❤

Over the course of this season I became an avid Gem-watcher. I love her variety in play-styles: from very intentional building, throughly enjoyable PVP, great chemistry with the other hermits, and intermittent self reflection that brings a humanity to the fun. Gem’s content for me has always struck that perfect balance between the upbeat playful side of life and the human need to use creativity to relax and enjoy the world. Watching Gem feels like watching nature take root; I feel like her confidence in sticking to what she likes making has returned content that may deviate from some RU-vid trends, but she has blossomed into some one of the most authentic RU-vidrs and her content has been better for it. While I may just be a commentator on a RU-vid video, I’m a very thankful commentator and wish Gem a fantastic, relaxing break from Hermitcraft and a very warm and welcome return for Hermitcraft season 10.

One of the things I love about Hermitcraft is that it encourages all sorts of fun, unique, and creative approaches to just *playing Minecraft* Hermitcraft’s members and the community they’ve made lead to the server seeing even the most obscure Minecraft feature getting genuine appreciation in their content eventually.

Season 9 ROCKED!! I love how close knit the hermits were this season, at the beginning having all the starter houses together, then all the community events. Absolutely loved seeing the hermits interact as much as they did

It is already the end?! Time really flies by. Wow! What an amazing season this has been. But as we all know,”All good things must…”

Gosh, the comment you made about this being your first full season really hit me like a truck. I had completely forgotten that you and pearl have only been hermits for two seasons. You fit in so well it feels like you’ve been here forever. Also, holy cow, I’m so glad we got to see the three soup group bases as a whole today. I’ve been appreciating them separately for so long, but the way you guys blended them together is truly fantastic! Here’s to another amazing season with amazing people!

Loved the little montage at the end Gem. Absolutely loved the dynamic of Soup group, your Geminislay version, the base and so much more. The season may have ended but these memories will be forever❤

I absolutely loved this season Gem! You had such a good balance between building your (absolutely gorgeous!) base and doing shenanigans with the hermits, looved the soup group both in your interactions and the way your styles compliment each other to make your area look so so beautiful. I'm sad to see this season end but sooo excited to see what y'all get up to next time! And I do love the early game shenanigans - let's see if "behind you Gem!" makes a return

I am still so obsessed with that huge tree over your base. It's such a pretty landmark and really brings the base together. Your whole sort of vibe this season of the really pretty castle and harbour has been hilarious in contrast with the dungeon of personally obtained heads and everyone running the second they realise you have a sword and permission to fight. I really loved it.

I'm not crying....you're crying. Thx Gem for the emotions, the grind, the pretty, the fighting, the energy. Must not always be easy but it's felt on this end of the videos. You are great, cya on S10 ! Enjoy your break !

I loved the flow and sense of environment you created this season, everything flowed so well it felt like it actually existed. The sense of environment was actually something i look up to a lot with your builds gem! You worked and paired so well with Impulse and Pearl!

I think we need Cleo, Gem, Pearl, Stress, and False to base.

Seeing the pinned comment is a little heartbreaking. I'm so sorry you've gotten so much flack from your viewers over the past period. The content you put out this year has been consistently amazing, "unfinished projects," "things that didn't happen," or no. As someone who has kept up with Hermitcraft for the last 4 seasons, the GeminiTay that you brought to the server has been amazing to witness. Your energy, build experiments, jokes, and friendships have all made Hermitcraft a more vibrant place (and I'd say the same for Secret Life), and it's a tragedy that some haters can't see the forest for the individual trees they've decided to beef with. Sending you good vibes for the next season, and I hope you don't feel like you have to do too much of "the things people liked." Being yourself is more than enough. I legit got goosebumps during the cinematic watching your base come together and then the flyover of your base all finished! It's beautiful, you did such an amazing job!!! I can't wait for next season!!!

I was a bit frustrated after season 8 : you were the one I followed to hermitcraft, really. I was watching your cosy cottagecore building tutorials (yeah, I only watched tutorials at that time) and ended up watching hermitcraft in its entirety, discovering or rediscovering people I didn't even know were hermits, like Keralis. But season 8 was so short! Season 9 was everything I would have dreamed of though : fun, more fun, dreams, stories, meeting amazing people from 2 SMPs, games, and some of the greatest pranks. And soooo many builds. Sooo many. The world you all created will go down in my best memories of game worlds, along side Morrowind, Skyrim, Fallout, or Horizon. Thank you Gem.

Maybe for the next season you could live in a giant tree? You said you wanted to work with organics more, and that idea just came to mind. Also love your builds, you're one of my favorite content creators.

I liked all of the bits of lore, which really made your base feel alive, like the connection between your base and Impulse’s.

There's something bittersweet about this season. Its the longest running one, and so many amazing builds came out of this. Your base was definitely one of my favorites, along with the rest of the Soup Group, Tango's Decked Out, Scarland, and so many more. It also had some of my favorite mini games. Decked Out was simply amazing, Cleo's Clock Tower game was also really fun to watch, and Rens Ice Derby was insanely fun to watch. This season is the final season that will have a mineshaft made by TFC. May he forever rest in peace. I think the season ending when it did is the best natural stopping point for the time of year, and a good way to properly send him off. The world was left in such a beautiful state, and as such, is the prefect resting place for our irreplaceable strip miner. I look forward to all the new shenanigans, alliances, and builds to come in season 10. Have a happy holiday and new year, Gem. Remember to keep on Gemini-slaying.

I still remember your first Hermitcraft episode in Season 8 where what would become known as "The Big-Eye Crew" came up to you in all iron armor and asked for diamonds and how you seemed a little afraid of these new people you were playing with. (It was the exchange that established that Gem is Great!) Contrast that to what happened in this episode before the boat race where everyone was afraid of you. What a difference two seasons has made!

“Variety of shapes” is such a good detail!! Sometimes reviewing the element and principles of art can be so inspirational, and remembering we can use variety with more than colours, but shapes and forms! I think that’s definitely an advantage with Minecraft - it’s more than art but it’s all about composition and rhythm to square blocks etc! I could go on forever lol

This has been such a great season! From the different storylines, to Decked Out, this was an amazing season! Thank you to all the creators.

Season nine was incredible. Im so astonished at the amazing work you, Pearl, and Impulse did. I didn't watch any other POVs on this but from the cinematic everyone did a great job. Pearl's whole build was just amazing and crazy and a hell of a good job. And your cherry blossom tree before they were even announced was great, I bet mojang got the idea from you. And I respect how long it must have taken impulse to mine out his entire base. I mainly do underground bases in my worlds and I know its a pain sometimes, dont even get me started on gravel and deepslate lol. Incredible work everyone, can't wait for season ten!

It’s so weird to me that season 9 is over. This was my first Hermitcraft season I watched as it came out, and I remember a YEAR AGO sitting in my apartment waiting to go home and watching Gem build as I crocheted a cardigan. I’ve been watching this season for so long, and watched how far EVERYONE has come with their bases and it feels too soon to stop!

I know a new season there will probably be different people to collaborate more with, but I would love to se another season with the soup group. Absolutely loved that trio. And of course, amazing work this season I bet we’re all waiting in excitement for the next season already! ♥👑

When this series started I could only watch it on RU-vid kids, and only you, Grian, and Mumbo were on there. At the beginning I rewatched all of your season nine episodes(except episode 3, that one wasn’t on RU-vid kids so I couldn’t watch it, now it just feels like I shouldn’t for the memes)over and over again, loving them every time, I cannot wait for season 10 and rest assured, you will be the POV I’ll be watching.

I love end season stuff, but I think I enjoy the early season the most, it’s when the most inspiring things happen in my opinion, and it’s when the most stuff is going on!

Thank you so much for this season, sharing some of the grand prix, and all the other fun closing activities. Great look back and retrospective as well! Honestly watching you do Decked Out was some of my favorite content, but watching all the beautiful builds and combinations of scales and focuses was my favorite thing from your episodes, though the various shenanigans and hang outs were very memorable and fun. I can't say i had a favorite thing/moment over all, but you did an incredible job over all! Everything was so impressive and fun! You being on both sides of the crossover was really interesting too!

I love the journey and how the world turns out, especially the trios base... Gem's elven structures, impulse's stronghold, and Pearl's landscape. Very astonishing and BIG season for you guys.

Ok that end montage made me cry. This was my first season of Hermitcraft and it has helped me get through this year and I’m so happy to have found a series that always makes me feel warm and fuzzy to watch. Looking forward to season 10! ❤

the recap at the end of the episode was so cool as this season was so long and i totally forgot about the farm you made like your first episode lol. It was so cool to see the progress you made from regular minecraft terrain to a work of art! Great work GEM!

I cried watching this, i never leave a comment but this final episode is literally so amazing to watch. As someone who loves to make cottagecore builds, you really inspired me a lot. Ngl I use a lot of your builds as reference because every builds you make are just amazing. If I have the courage to make a mega base, I'll try this concept for sure! Also because of your hc and empires builds my building improve so much!! I'm really grateful for that. I cannot wait for another hc season with you gem! the season was so long and yet it felt so incomplete. Im so sad scarland was unfinished, we know how much it meant to scar. Still excited for season ten! Edit. Just to be clear guys, i am not trying to be negative. i loved this season, and it was one of the best in my opinion. personally i just felt like it ended abrubtly, with all else going on, such as secret life, and guess the build etc.

Something I always love is the bits of banter you and Etho have. it just reminds of squabbling siblings and its hilarious

I love seeing the bases walked through. Ever since elytra’s creators have been flying at the base to show from above which is great but this is so slow and gives a chance to take in so much more detail

still feels like there was so much still to do, can see why it’s ended and look forward to season ten but even so i’ll still mourn what could’ve been as with anytime something ends

my favorite thing about seasons 9 was gem and all the hermits have a fun time and building what they love

I shed a few tears while watching this, I loved this season so much, and am sad to see it end. But I'm really excited to see all that happens in the next one. Maybe next time Grian won't be able to keep himself from starting a war, XD. But in all seriousness I really enjoyed this season, all the funny interactions, the playful games, and the harmless pranks, they all come together with the beautiful builds and bright personalities of all the hermits to make one of the best Minecraft RU-vid series, Hermitcraft. I know this is late to finally watch this but, Gem, if you see this I can't wait for what you, and all the hermits do next season. And thank you all for an amazing season of Hermitcraft.

I absolutely loved the connected bases between you, Impulse, and Pearl this season. I hope more hermits do things like that in season 10.

The art and cosplays at the end were super amazing!!! I love all the moments with the soup group, and murder camel from Secret life(i could hear it in my head while you and pearl were riding on the camel XD), and just interactions with other hermits in general!!! Amazing work Gem!!! Cant wait to see what happens in Season 10! I loved the ice boat race chaos, mostly the sword coming out! I also love the moments in PVP with other hermits trying to get their heads, especially the 40+ Etho heads you got in one go XD I know ive probably repeated myself but this was just such a great season to watch, words cant describe how amazing it was, and with all the different events like the crossover as well!

What a great season this has been. I think every episode was fun to watch as you said. Also loved the cinematic at the end, great way to finish off and celebrate the season.

Season 9 was the first season I dove into, and I found a lot to love! Some of the highlights included... - Cub's sculk arc - Gem destroying Etho in swordfights - Mumbo's base getting blown up - Scar's creeper prank - Xisuma being a bone mage - Zedaph's spying antics -Everyone covering up the perimeter Can't wait for Season 10!

Im sad to see the season end, it was so great watching all the amazing things you built. I cant wait to see what else you have ahead for us to watch. Wishing you a happy holidays.

I always really loved the interactions! And base wise, I love detail orientated things. Your series was definitely very satisfying

Watching hermits' megabuilds and Decked Out playthroughs were fun, but I enjoyed watching the bonding the most. I remember watching one of impulse's streams recently, and he teared up a bit, talking about how much fun he had hanging out with the other hermits while covering up the perimeter. It was so wholesome 😊

I loved the interactions with the other hermits the most. the builds are cool, the minigames are cool, but my favorite part is when those things lead to interactions between people. thats what I want to see more of in s10!
