In Lord of the Rings, the password to the door of the Mines of Moria is the Elvish for "friend," which is pronounced a lot like the word, "melon". So, would be funny if you made a watermelon open the piston door to your base.

So many DnD / high fantasy vibes the season, I love it. Impulse is a dwarf, Bdubs is making dungeons, scar is an elf, Cleo is doing things with myths, and Grian has a rift. Freaking awesome man.

I quite like the design for the entrance to the “impire.” However, some wood added to the block pallets would make a huge difference. Right now it looks very similar to the fence around your factory from last season, and it seems very industrial.

To keep the cave looking natural and dwarven, use tnt instead of digging. And don’t flatten the ground, use bridges to connect structures

Great entrance although personally a dwarven fortress without giant dwarf statues guarding it feels like it’s missing something. Also, if yogcast’s diggy diggy hole song isn’t copy writes it makes an excellent dwarf theme song.

Dwarf Impulse is on a quest to delve deep into the mines of the Impire to find the legendary Impulse Gem, also known as “The Behindyou Gem!!” But in reality, the Impulse Gem is the friendships we made along the way. Or… one of them at least.

The door password could be a specific item dropped into a hopper, and my suggestion would be a whole melon block named 'mellon', because the original password ("speak friend and enter") to the Mines of Moria was 'Mellon' - the Elvish for 'friend'. It would be a fun play on words ;-)

It would be really cool if you sell Rockets in shulkers as a one week special deal so you don't have to restock with shulkers everytime. So sell normal rockets but also have super special deals every week or so, just a suggestion :)

Ya know, there are these "*insert real profession here* reacts to Minecraft. Very few seem to showcase builds like this. This dwarven entrance is the sort of thing that got me to buy the game. Then there's the fact that I've been working on learning how to build in the game for about one year now, and I'm nowhere near this, and I understand what it takes to make these fantastic builds. The people who are reacting to Minecraft for the first time have no idea. And the snobby comments they make annoy the ever living... something... out of me. That entrance is right up my alley. I want to make a base in a Basalt Delta one day. Very dystopian and yet mechanical in feel. This is the sort of build that inspires me. Cheers!

Don't be too annoyed at them, they will soon realise what it takes to make top level builds when the actually try themselves. Also I'm sure they will get around to impulse with their series so hang in there give them time to get thru some of the others.

I really like how this isn't obviously inspired by any of the more popular LOTR/Dwarven fantasy media--it's its own thing. The block palette is good, too--the dark blocks you picked will look good with weathered or unweathered copper. I'd like to see some vegetation on the green raised beds on either side of the entrance--nothing crazy, just maybe some grass and ferns and possibly one or two tree saplings with strings on top to keep them from growing.

"Its quite simple, if you are a friend you speak the password and the door will open." You should have the password be a renamed melon named "Fennas Nogothrim" which is "Doorway of the Dwarf-Folk" that way only melons named that will open your door.

I think it would be really cool to have some kind of "Dwarven training grounds" where you could use armor stands and make it as if they're learning the dwarven ways (mining,smithing etc)

Everyone goes through a dwarf phase. A year ago I created a new world and build a dwarves empire in survival lol. Love the style you chose, that combination looks awesome, and implies that the dwarves who built it have gone very deep, and are a quite advanced civilization. Nice work impulse!

The entrance looks just right, pending retaining wall/landscape interface changes as you described. The dwarves traditionally built into the landscape. The completed door will definitely finish the look. I look forward to seeing what you’ve planned. The illusionary door of the candy factory impressed me….nothing to break! 😆

I made the Mines of Moria in a past mc world, and my hidden Redstone door opened when you threw a slice of melon in the right spot. I'm loving watching you do a much better job with the mines than I did!

I really like the start of your new base. It looks a bit like a mix between your S8 factory and your Hardcore base. If you want some form of constructive criticism it might look a bit too neat and modern. Maybe try making it look a bit weathered and remove a bit of all that symmetry? Still a really awesome entrance and the coral walkway is stunning.

Door Idea: a waterfall of emerald raining down that the switch stops. Not a very secure door in practice, but thematically it could be fast falling gems that would kill intruders if the flow wasn't stopped. Also kinda a flex

just had a idea for when you base is more finished. what about hiring a certain zombie that mastered the arts of armor stands. maybe something like villager dwarfs ( if you can equip them with beards that is ) working on golden items. unless that is way to much work ofcourse

Does your cave base have a Dwarven inspired name? How about the Halls of iMoria? Edit: As a drummer I thought of one I like more: ImpuXanadu. You can go all, make a custom skin for food and call it Honeydew. XD
