One of the things I am liking about this crossover event is that it's got the hermits working together more so than I think they ever have before. On their own server, they all spread out and do their own thing.

It's definitely cool actually seeing what the Hermits can do together. Because they don't typically do early game together into late game together you might get a couple of them like building near each other but their bases are still typically separate and normally that's only like two or three Hermits when it does happen

For the Concrete maker: I recommend putting a Hopper Minecart in Place of your hopper to collect the concrete so that it doesnt glitch away when you place spam the Powder to reduce loss when afk'ing. You can even Push a Block into the Minecart to prevent accidentally pushing it .

I've made some maths and considering that 1 exp repairs 2 durability, and exp bottle gives between 3 and 12 exp (with an average of 7) and that unbreaking 3 increases durability by 300% the number in the counter should be 56 but you may want to lower it a little to avoid the pick breaking because you got unlucky or other gear ate the exp

Star Date: 221116-01 Curious that Impulse is the first Hermit to speak of reopening the Rift and sounding almost home sick. I'm sure between him, Tango, and Cub they could find a way to reopen the Rift given enough time. This process could be accomplished with greater haste should DocM77 and his hive mind get involved. Felica hasn't detected a signal from DocM77 in sometime though. Almost as if he vanished. With his technology I wouldn't be surprised if he has interdimensional travel capabilities. There doesn't seem to be anything in his broadcast to help my investigation. I'll have to keep searching as more broadcasts are detected. -Natanis Likens Out. Alert!! 4th wall unstable!! I wasn't aware of that door trick. Thanks for that tidbit of info. I'll have to use this new knowledge in my own world.

Wonder if could rig a trap door to it with a kill switch on the inside? Flip switch and next person to open door falls straight down instead 😄 No idea if that's possible or not. Grian is an expert compared to my redstone

I really liked seeing you do redstone on camera. I really love redstone but I am so very bad at it, and it's cool and helpful to see actually really skilled redstoners making mistakes and figuring things out and explaining it like a normal person instead of assuming that there's existing knowledge.

There's a major bug in your design, Impulse, which you almost saw during testing: if someone AFKs long enough for the powder supply to run out, they'll AFK mine up the obsidian since there's no more concrete being placed. As a solution, I'd suggest replacing the obsidian with wood (which also wont' mine quickly with a pick) and connecting it to a piston on a fadeout timer; so the wood gets pulled out of the way if it's been too long without any concrete placed, leaving you staring at the air with no chance of breaking anything. (That does mean the initial concrete block of the next session must be placed against the observer or leaves, but I think that's better than letting blocks break if someone AFKs too long.)

when doing the concrete farm, why not just fill your empty inventory with single concrete powders? that way you pick up the extras, and the hopper can easily pick up every solid concrete drop? just a thought! seems like it would help you keep track of how often you would actually need to use an exp bottle ♥

Funny how adding that light source at the bottom actually fixed an issue you hadn't even realized you had. When you made this a full block, it would get powered for a tick every time the observer fired, and slow down the hopper sucking your broken concrete block, giving it opportunities to get sucked in your inventory instead.

i love impulse and the rest of the hermitcraft gang but for some reason, i just can’t get myself to be as entertained by them on the empires server. i miss seeing progress on the dwarven kingdom. i miss the soup gang. i’m still gonna watch them until they finally get back, but i’m just ready for them to make their ultimate return. all love, still one of my favourite things to watch! hope y’all are doing great mentally and physically and come back to hermitcraft excited :)

Lorewise, the pieces are starting to fall together to get the rift open again. The L.O.R.E team is on the case (Pix and Sausage know about Gem’s ability to hop between servers), and the hermits do have a really smart tactic here, annoy the Empires enough to force them to get the rift open. We also do have Xb and Beef on the other side, but I don’t know if they’ll be a part of this or not (fine either way). It was fun to think about what happened to Xb though!

Also want to note, Sausage sort of has the ability to go to other dimensions as well that he’s had past lives in, and was taken to HC8 with Bdubs once. That’s a first for this character, since Sausage of Mythland was never able to do the latter. He could jump to parallel worlds and the spirit realm though!

Relatively new to minecraft and I was trying to make a Sugarcane Farm like a simple one just cause i'm playing alone for the most part and I looked a tutorial and the tutorial I watched didn't mention that hoppers are directional which would have been so helpful before I just scrapped the project and while watching this video I noticed the bottom bending inward to the chest and I was like "WHAT" and went to check myself just incase my eyes weren't deceiving me. In Bedrock designs, I’ve seen concrete/mud farms use the placed block to close a signal instead of using observers. You could have a piston push the blocks out of the way and make a cube. I love the idea of refilling your inventory. 👍

Its ok, we have trident killers. Also we can make potion arrows by putting potions into a cauldron and then right clicking (or the equivalent) it with a stack of arrows.

Never been a concrete user nor did I ever worry about efficiency 5 and unbreaking 3. Never going back to wasting time digging sand and gravel, and I love using concrete.

One thing which has always annoyed me about the wither effect on the health is the fact that it's really weirdly designed. The color of the hearts turn the same color as the empty hearts. (Or at least close enough that you can't really see it well) From a design perspective this reads as if you are NOT SUPPOSED to be able to read your health when withered. But you still have the white pixel which spoils the "intended" surprice of what your health is at. Imo. they should either just make the color easier to tell apart to indicate status just like poison does. (Since you can already see it anyways) OR make it totally impossible to tell how much health you actually have. (Like the flavor of the effect suggests)

Impulse, Impulse!!! You should make a second concrete maker module, I'd love to see 2 hermits working together to make concrete at the same time... xD All this working together as one unit instead of solo mad scientist level hermits,... its so nice to see and something I have wanted to see on a large scale like this crossover for a long time. I hope this experience somehow brings you all together more often after your return to HC-9. Everyone seems to have fallen off from participating in HHH days, it would be nice to see at least 1 monthly HHH where far more people get together then just the standard trio of X, Joe and Cleo and occasionally Jev... sorry if this sounds negative, but just look what the hermits can do when smashed together for a while working together to dominate and flex that HC Badass Muscle cranked to 11...

I have a giant mud farm that I found a tutorial on that uses 12x12 pistons to make a massive cube of mud and I never realized you can do the same thing to make concrete! I've been doing it manually in a river still, I don't know why I didn't realize that it could work like mud, that's going to save so much time. Also as per tradition anytime there's a Wither fight in Java gotta say "just wait till you fight it on Bedrock Edition he's much more difficult!"

If the player runs out of concrete while afk their pick will break the farm. You should probably move the counter from behind there and give a 4 block gap so the hermits will just hit air and just have to place an obsidian to get the farm going

One of the good things about Bedrock is we have Trident killers, I use a water stream to bring the XP to me when making mud and concrete, so it refills my pic/shove. Java really should get Teident killers too, that way you get true afk farms were you don't need auto clickers.

That must have been convenient to go to sand harvesting since you already trashed the desert with a wither fight. Some might call it tidying up. I’m surprised to didn’t come at the wither with a bunch of metal men.

Hwy impulse, since you are using observers, every conversion will activate observer thrice (place, change from powder to concrete, and breaking) So will the dropper give more powder than you use, causing overflow and eventually filling your inventory and cause it to despawn.

Hey Impluse, You could use tweakroo (a fabric mod) so you can set it to automatically eat food after some time by keep food in your off hand. It also has an in built auto clicker and auto hand restock for the food

Mojang should made a mob that drops sand. I know it's super plentiful, but it only generates in a specific area. So if you want to live in a desert, you either have to find a totally different desert to harvest from, or sacrifice your landscape. Piglins already give Gravel, so some kind of desert exclusive mob that drops sand would be great. Especially if it dropped the same type of sand as the biom it was in for red sand.

XP bottles have an average of 7 XP per bottle. With unbreaking 3 the pick loses durability once every 4 uses So one XP bottle should last about 28 uses so putting 25 or 26 items would be your safe bet

To fix the dropper activating too much you could possibly connect a 3-tick repeater after the observer going into the dropper, that way the rapid pulses will be merged into one longer pulse
