This is definitely the season where Impulse really steps out of the "farmer, redstoner" box and goes into the amazing builder category. Last season was the start and this season we get to see it in full bloom. Amazing build Impulse!

btw most of his base and 100% of ibuy was designed by his community but some like the main portion of the keep and the ceiling are his own so he's getting there but not totally independent also the bridges where caluna like he said.

Same thing with mumbo-jumbo last season he did a phenomenal job, stepping outside of his comfort zone and trying his hand with greenery and terraforming. Great job impulse!

Once 1.20 comes out, you might consider replacing the barrels and bookshelves in the Book Nook with chiseled bookshelves! It would show how much stock is left for each book, and still allow for hoppers to refill them when needed.

Impulse, I think some glowberries would really make those spots of greenery in your base look amazing! The specks of warm lighting would provide a contrast to the overwhelming blueness and help bring out the greenery more

2:00 idea: decorate the top of the shelves with items (invisible armor stand?) - could look cool and help find the enchants. e.g.: gunpowder or TNT for blast protection, a shiny pick for efficiency, some ice for frost walker, etc. maybe some symbolic ones, like Eye of Ender for Mending (since everyone uses ender-ender-mender at this point pretty much)

Great episode today. Don't worry so much about getting massive progress done. I know I don't speak for everyone but I would rather see many episodes with a little progress vs fewer episodes with a lot of progress. Whatever is best for you though is probably best for us as well

the gradient/pattern on the walls of the underground section had me floored for like a minute. i know it's simple stuff, but the fluidity of the colours was so cool. though i will say, i thought the top colour in the gradient was diamond blocks for a moment and was only a little bit surprised you had enough for that. so this is my formal request for you to add some of those extra diamond blocks you have lying around and use them to make the gradient even more vibrant (and flex just a little)

The book nook was the name of my loft bed over the stairs when I was a kid. I had a shelf of all my books and would read most of the night. Then when I switched to my own room, we took down the mattress and put bean bags up there to make it even cozier for casual reading

Love Keep in the Deep, it is the perfect song for time lapses because it starts off quiet (so you can still be talking and introducing the clip) and then the music picks up for the actual time lapse. Love it! And we got to hear it twice. 😊 The end one could have been longer. If you have Jono write another song for you (like next season-not that we are ready for a new season!) have him make it quieter at the beginning again. The walls look great! I’m hoping Gem turns the glass back to pink below-would be such a funny bit to go back and forth ;)

It's so awesome seeing the way the Hermitcraft server has kinda made everyone step out of their "box" and do more than what they're usually known for, like Impulse building impressive megabases as well as his amazing industrial district I know every member makes their own decisions as to what kind of content they make, but I can't help feeling like the original idea of having a server with equal number of redstoners and builders has definitely paid off over the years you can still distinguish between the redstoners and builders of course, but now we have redstoners who are also great builders, and builders who are showing more redstone work in their videos, I like to think that it's due to being influenced and inspired by each other, which is something that happens when you play in a server full of awesome people :D

Another thought for if you want to go deeper under your base, Gem has a demolition service at Twinkly Trash that I don’t think anyone on the server has used so far. Might be a good colab with one of your fellow Soup Group members.

I have to say Impulse, you're giving a lot of inspiration for my own build where I'm hollowing out a whole mountain and digging all the way down to bedrock. It is a huge project that I've been working on for about a year now and I'm slowly filling in the empty space with farms, and details and bridges and chains and support structures. Except I'm not using a dwarven theme but more of a forsaken theme (The undead from WoW) with a heavy inspiration from The Undercity as the area below the mountain is basically a sphere because I'm using the de-spawn sphere as a guide.

RE: Bestsellers Restocking Best way would be to do hoppers above, and shulkers on that. You sacrifice a bit of visual cleanliness and airiness, but it'll still be way cool as a mechanical-looking centerpiece.

small idea for the pit in your base: a garden at the bottom, but with plants and such not typically associated with the overworld, such as chorus plants and custom-built mushroom trees

So much to comment on in this episode! The Book Nook with the bookshelves is so cute! The Dwarven Keep is looking amazing! I know an unbelievable amount of work must have gone into those walls. I’m sure Scar would be proud of the gradient too You actually survived quite a while by Total Chaos standards. It’s funny to me how many people couldn’t believe they were supposed to be fighting under those circumstances in spite of being handed weapons. It really is enough just trying to survive the arena

If you'd like to have some more shop stock of the best sellers, you could turn the book shelves in the middle island into barrels with books. If the floor tiles can be changed into stairs, you can also have a barrel in the floor, with stairs on either side.

Did you know that with the glass gradiant you can just switch colours instead of leaving a gap, this allows you to make differant colours with the multible glass colour and the gradiant happends much quicker (in Impluses case it means less digging). (Sorry for grammer and spelling)

Impulse! Base idea: to fill the space in the center of the underground area you should have a floating island (or series of islands) and then u can have bridges connecting to them from the walls. I would also recommend some asymmetrical aspects to it so it feels more lived in and less perfectly constructed. Besides that it’s a wonderful build keep up the good work!

I have been binging all of season nine on your channel, in an attempt to watch as many of the hermits videos as I can. I have to say I'm sad to have finally caught up because now I have to wait for my dose of Impulse. I was totally hooked with the "behind you Gem!" From the first episode, and it went from there. Also, just the way she says your name when you first showed her all the emeralds from your raid farm. Nobody says your name like her. It's an odd thing to say, but you two are hilarious together. I am such a fan now. That Dwarven keep would have burned me out, not gonna lie. Thank you for being so entertaining to watch.

If you want additional storage for the best sellers, you could put the hoppers and shulker boxes above them and move the trapdoors to be on the outside of the hoppers. For the Book Nook sign, you could probably suspend it from the entrance arch by chains, it looked like there should be enough clearance.

4:00 Impulse you can do vertical hoppers and brown shaukers for the Best Sellers above the barrels... then cover them with custom item frames, walls, or banners.

For the best sellers you could just put white shoulders on-top of the barrels above the corresponding barrel, just make sure they open vertically so it does break or clip through the signs.

The tinted glass would be nice for the floor with that extra shiney texture but also like it seems darker than black glass. Also might make a neat effect if you put lights in-between the layers

You could add cracks on the new blue walls, that reveal veins of glowing gold that lights up the surrounding area(glowstone in other words).

In the book shop for decor - you could potentially make banners and hang them in the room. they could have crests on them, or advertisements. indoors you can do more with decorating with banners and signs because they don't disappear from a distance (well, you can't see them from a distance haha). I see others suggested miniblocks, agree on that one! also, hanging plants. for the best sellers... why not just remove the bookshelf and stack two barrels for each one?

If you need ideas for more illumination, you can create "petals" - froglights surrounded by pink glass - and say that they're from Gem's tree

You could totally replace the trapdoors on top of the barrels in the Best Sellers area with hoppers, it wouldn't add much storage but once the signs are on it wouldn't look that different

Add the words "Limited Stock" to the sign that says "Best Sellers" in the Book Nook. That creates the illusion that the supply will run out soon and encourage sales.

I decided to put on your Season 9 playlist to sleep to, and got not one minute of sleep before work. If it weren't an interesting journey through the mansion to the disbandment of the Diamond Beard Block Bros (and for coffee to start my day), I would not be so sleepy now. No regrets. Loving the bridges and such down there! If you put all the effort in to make the layered glass at the bottom, it will definitely help show of this feat, by having some lower bridges. Maybe further down there was one bridge or two that are completely flat horizontally where Minecarts would ride along, transporting some ores from the mines to the magma-forge or something?

You can use glass panes instead; they're not such an eye sore. 😅 And maybe try mixing in a white glass pane; that would make it lighter, and might look more like the original pink colour. ☺️👌 The gradient build looks amazing though, and I love the new shop! You could maybe put hoppers and shulker boxes on top of the Best Sellers? And then signs on the shulker boxes instead of trap doors? ☺️

i swear the path build you did at 20:00 looks like the inner part of icecrown citadel, where you had to kill every boss 1 after another and return to the middle.
