I’ve been waiting for the hypno fight since the collecting started! I remember the head games of season 7 when it was hypno and cub (I believe it was cub???) dueling for points and fun. He also won one of the rounds in Cleo’s grand arena fight
The dicotimy of Gem is amazing. She is completely adorable, and she is utterly bloodthirsty. Incredible. Oh, and Impulse saying "Watch out behind you Gem!" will never, ever, get old.😂😂😂
Maybe you could commission Cleo again, like you did for the waterfall? It would be so cool to see workers carrying supplies and pulling carts back and forth from the crane area
I don't know how to explain it, but Gem and Bdubs give off equal but opposite vibes. I think if they were to spend extended amounts of time together (in camera) they may cause entropy. I love how the crane turned out! The blue gears are so fun, it feels very polished. I have also noticed that there are a lot of even numbered builds in the elven area, which is neat to see! I don't often build them myself but it's a good reminder that they can look really nice, so maybe I should try to. Geminislay is the perfect person to collect heads for Decked Out - the collection will be complete in no time!
I can’t explain how either, but you’re right. Gem and bdubs have such a unique vibe together. It’s like bdubs tries to do his normal charisma guy thing but gem just wanders over and pokes right between his ribs every time and he responds differently than he does to most people. It’s just a very cool dynamic I think
Gem's videos always seem so short even though they're not. They're just so entertaining. She could get a hundred things done in one video but it would still feel like the video wasn't long enough.
@@christopherparkin7162 I know, but there are some people's videos which are typically about the same length as her's yet they feel so long. It was meant to be a compliment on how entertaining I found her videos. It wasn't meant to be a cimplaint but I understand how it could be seen as one.
There’s something so natural about a Nova Scotian just listening to the sounds of seagulls at the end of a day. It’s a treat for us when they’re that ambient.
The disks are a really cool way for you to add a custom soundscape to your base. I always play Minecraft with the AmbientSounds mod, which adds all kinds of animal and wind sounds based on the biome. It helps so much with immersion, much more than I would've anticipated, and it actually makes exploring fun for me.
That custom ambience is GENIUS. Makes me wish all servers had custom data pack plugins like that (though for obvious reasons, I can understand why most don't, especially public ones).
The end of this really illustrates why I love sound design so much and why I think it’s under appreciated. Even the smallest sounds can change the whole world around you.
I never thought I'd see the day Gemini Slay would be bested without trickery. Hypno is truly a formidable foe. Edit: Also I love the immersive sounds y'all added to your base.
My cats love the sounds even more than I do! My older cat was curled up snoring next to me when the end of your video played and the sounds of the birds were louder and she woke up and started watching the last bit of your video SO intently! It was adorable 🧡 so a big hit all around with my house, just especially approved by the felines of the home 🧡🖤
I love your ending with the ambience sounds. Its exactly what Minecraft is missing for so long now, its immersion with sounds. The Nether is perfectly done, along with the oceans but the Caves and so many biomes would have so much more immersion with this!
I hope Decked Out is treated like a standalone game that deserves as much attention as if it was its own Let's Play series. It's an amazing game that will last weeks, strategies will be diverse and you 22-ish people are the only people in the world with access to it, with hundreds of thousands of people eager to see every moment of it. Good or bad runs, doesn't matter. Just do you, have fun. My vote is for full runs, especially the first week. Good luck!
I completely understand the immersive sounds thing. The first time I used a modpack with it in I was blown away. It's a real game changer and something vanilla Minecraft needs.
With this immersion you need details like bird nest in the trees or holes where critters live, foxes or bunny burrows. Waves at the ocean dock! It’s just relaxing watching you play Minecraft thanks for the awesome videos!
Gem, I keep forgetting to say that the raid farm might be able to turn into something called a "sea stack" to disguise it if you don't want to be looking at it all the time. You could have a big bird colony there with armor stand birds flying around (or dragons?) 😊
probably my favorite episode this season, a great mix of gorgeous builds and shenanigans with hermits, thank you for always making such enjoyable content!
The difference between Beef both allowing Gem to get his head and then also having a spare, yet still letting her kill him vs. Bdubs fighting her in chat and then also killing her when they weren’t fighting is hilarious, Beef’s just a gentleman and Bdubs is a gremlin
I have decided that Gem is two souls coexisting in the same body. Peaceful, kind, wholesome Geminitay, and insane, psychotic, evil Geminislay. Tay tries her best to keep Slay at bay, but sometimes Slay breaks free from her subconscious prison. Eventually Slay will take over for good, and its up to the hermits to kill the PvP god, to free Tay. Meanwhile Tay is fighting from the inside, just like her counterpart did, once upon a time. Just a bit of lore to keep us going.
The sound effects are amazing :D the way this kept alternating between peaceful base work and killing the hermits (which is always so so enjoyable, especially when there's an audience) was hilarious
Its amazing how at the end of the video the birds and silence make it feel so wholesome and peaceful! I am amazed how you can play two smps and a hardcore world and make all of this!
Seeing xB not checked off the list and just chilling in the background as you dueled Iskall has me sooo excited to see how you go headhunt him - maybe a bow duel instead of swords? But more importantly, BEAUTIFUL episode and amazing work on the base, all the effort to mesh yours and Impulse's styles goes an amazingly long way - and honestly, I had the same reaction as him, realizing how quick you'd gotten it done. It's super stunning, you never cease to impress!
Cause he builds mostly modern (and that isn't a style I'm particularly into) I always forget just how incredible Keralis is at building only to get totally blindsided by how talented he is whenever a hermit I watch stops by his base. I don't even watch him and yet his season nine base is probably one of my favourites! I just love how bustling and lived in it feels! It seems almost messy? But not in a bad way so much as a realistic way? Like the buildings have just been piled up over centuries of people living there. It feels natural in a way you don't typically see in urban style builds. It's one of those builds where it's just so alive you can really feel immersed in it
I love the connection between the Elven and the Dwarven bases! The Dwarves send up ores and gems from the mines and the Elves trade them food and organic materials! I think it's generally worldbuilt that Dwarves don't usually grow or hunt themselves and instead trade from other kingdoms so that could be a fun thing to add in.
The fights with the hermits are such a lovely, roundabout way to chat and spend time with every hermit! I enjoy them so much! ^-^ plus everyone being baffled by her skill
You should add a couple parrots in the trees so when people walk through, it makes sense where the sounds are coming from . It looks and sounds absolutely amazing 👍
It's been so lovely to watch Gem to from "Help new server on the biggest thingy ever what do I do" to becoming in her element and not "trying" to be anyone else but just being herself bringing her own element to Hermitcraft
This is looking great. I think this season will be quite nice to walk around when the download comes, it's possibly the most complete season yet. The bases are nearly done and the museum has collected all the memories, it's great!
Here is an idea. Maybe you can do a merchant ship of sorts that collects Prismarine from your industrial district. If you have a dock, you can do a ship that goes between your base and your guardian farm for internal lore. If the elves love prismarine so much, they have to have a way to export it.
With decked out finishing, the perimeter being recovered, and all the call backs to the start of the season I'm sensing season 10 on the horizon. I cant wait.
Oh, I love this video so much! GeminiSlay, building, interactions with other Hermits, BEHIND YOU GEM!, ambient disc noises? Perfect. You really did have a lot of fun in a week. Saw this idea from Realistic_Secret: asking Cleo to help add workers at the docks. It would look really cool. Can't wait to see what other projects Gem has in store. The base is really coming together. 👍❤
The ambient sounds are such an amazing addition!! I never realised Minecraft is missing something like this, but now it just seems so obvious! It brings so much life ❤
Amazing episode Gem this was really enjoyable to watch and seeing you fighting the Hermits for their heads was really funny. Geminislay is on it again. Also I really love what you did to connect your base with impulse it was such a great build thank you so much for this episode ❤
Gemmini Tay - Hear me out, Okay! This is my HIT LIST! Viewers - This is going to be a good episode! Gemmini Tay - Anyone that doesn't have a check mark, mean I need their Heads! (Gem Comment - I need your Head, Hermits) Hermits - Screw this craps I'm out, Screw this crap I'm out, Don't mind me, I'm just grab my stuff and leave, Excuse me please, Don't mind me do!
I gotta say your videos are getting better and better, not only in terms of content, but also especially in terms of editing. Love the music in the background! Nostalgia!
I'm having a kinda rough day already, so I'm really glad that this video made me laugh. This has the perfect blend of cozy builder Gem and funny GeminiSlay chaos. Really love seeing how the other hermits and other SMPs Gem is on have challenged and inspired her to try new things. I think I've definitely noticed this on Afterlife/New Life where she is able to experiment with a lot of smaller builds without having to commit to a single theme for a mega base. It's really cool to see an elven take on a more industrial build style.
I really enjoy your style of building. Your way of making simple little things so detailed and beautiful are remarkable. Your big builds always have a very natural look to them that always fit the landscapes. You have really climbed my hermit tier list Gem! Your commentary and cheerful voice really are a blessing. Keep doing what you do. I love it!
If vintage beef does another hermit card game, GeminiSlay definitely needs to be one of the cards. Watching your 5 hour video you posted recently basically about your journey on hermitcraft Season 9, from the Mansion to this episode of seeing 57 etho heads ( 10:56 ). Its absolutely amazing to see how much your pvp skills have improved. I've been really looking forward to the connection between you and impulses base for a few months now, on impulses stream hearing the connection basically finished i was very excited for that. The build is looking amazing as always, i wish I could be even 1% as good as a builder as you. With the transportation of materials from impulse, i pressume its going to go to the dock, then onto a ship for further trade. Possibly if you or/and impulse could build a few ships on the sea near your dock, filled with with materials collected and maybe some sea bandits (pirates) are trying to get that loot and each ship is kind of at war at each other. Something that came in my kind whilst watching anyway. Very happy for a new gem Hermitcraft episode.
I would love a 10-30 minute aesthetic video of just scenes from around your base and the ambient noise (like the last few seconds of this video) in the style of those "____ to study/relax/sleep" haha. Like what Joe did with the fish geyser!
I remember you saying a while back that you wanted to add a boat floating a little way out from the docks. Now that you've got the custom ambiance music discs you could include one for that boat when it's built to add rope and wood creaking sounds to the other dockside ones you've already done
So ... use glass pane posts high up to suspend chickens over the harbor to be your seagulls? Or dangle them on leads like at zedaph's, maybe make some elfy-esque flying ships to give them height and to hide the fence posts? Or just tall masts and rigging to hang them from?
I really enjoy the duels somehow. Generally not the PvP person. But having this random shenanigans while procrastinating on building is relateable and refreshing. Just something i really appreciate about your videos. It occasionally gets hard to watch timelaps after timelaps, and have things just be there. much love
So I just told Impulse the same thing, these are my favorite kind of episodes. Multiplayer interaction with the other hermits is why I like watching HC. Congrats on a fun episode
the bird sounds are epic, especially with all the trees and structures, really just ties everything together. I wish i was good at building in Minecraft to be able to do things like that in my world, but sadly i am not. I cant envision the buildings, and I feel like looking at others for inspiration would just end up me copying their build block for block and I don't want that. One day, I will.
Really thought the too quiet would have been about the big crane and elevator motors and chains clinking, but the bird are nice. Some village noise or rpg starting village music would be a cool touch. Something a bit grander for the castle for that full rpg experience.
Hmm….seems like seagulls should be manageable with armor stand magic….couple or three quartz crystals for wings and tail, circling over a boat on the water….
