Hernia Repair - Open Surgery Simulation ( HeROSS ), is an e-learning simulation application simulation a full open repair of a direct hernia.
The user uses a computer mouse to select tools and manipulate the anatomy. During the simulation the user will be given input and feedback. The simulation has two modes, an interactive mode ( demonstrated here ) and a non-interactive mode, in the interactive mode the user has full control of the tool selection and manipulation, in the non-interactive mode the user only controls when to move to the next task, the simulation then selects the appropriate tool and performs the task for the user.
