Hernia Repair Surgery - What to Expect 

Hernia surgeon, Dr. Michele Loor, covers what to expect before and during your hernia repair surgery. Patients will be informed of any pre-surgery requirements, such as fasting and pre-operative shower. You will have a chance to go over the details with your surgeon and meet the surgical team prior to your surgery. The length of your surgery will depend on the complexity but can range from 1 to 6 hours. There are two primary approaches to hernia surgery: open approach and minimally invasive. The latter option includes only a few small incisions, promoting less post-operative pain and shorter recovery.
