I tried the Superbeam version of Force Shield and I have to say it looks great...but after wearing it one day I had all these clogged pores and forming pimples all over my chin/jawline area. I'm not very acne prone but I sometimes do break out in that area of my face. I thought it was maybe a fluke because the product was marketed for acne prone skin...so I kept using it for about a week to make sure. My skin just got far worse and it got much better after discontinuing it. It's weird because I don't have sensitive skin and rarely react to any products. I guess the moral of the story is to never assume a product can't cause acne just because of the marketing!

My eyes hate sunscreens, especially mineral. Only two, the Bondi Sands, and e.l.f. Holy Hydration spf have worked at all anywhere near my eyes. I am always scared to try new products since I don't want to cry all day! 😭

I tried hero bc of this vid and IT IS THE ONLY MINERAL SUNSCREEN THAT DOESNT BURN MY FACE!!!!🙌 It even makes my skin look better. Just wish the spf was a bit stronger but it does pretty good for an hour of direct sun with no shade. I actually put this on my face first THEN put Cetaphil mineral screen spf 50 over it because the 50 protects my face but burns my skin. The hero creates a safety layer from the 50. Thanks for this vid.

Thank you for this review. As someone with dry, mature and acne prone skin, I was interested in this sunscreen. As I'm wearing a pimple patch right now, I was looking for a more acne friendly sunscreen. But my skin loves the illiyoon ATO Ceramide Concentrate Cream both day and night, and I can not deal with pilling. 💖💖💖
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole 2 года назад
Yeahhh tbh I was confused when I went to buy this, as some reviewers were SCREAMING at us about how good this is (🤣) and others were saying the pilling is awful? I fully believe the reason for the discrepancy is: the moisturizer used under this one matters - a lot!

Surge! A blast from the blast, I’m 32 definitely remember that. Also I am a guy with facial hair, this was one of the worst sunscreens. I also have dry skin and it pilled with majority of my moisturizers and when reapplying. My dry skin could use this only in the summer. Still using and loving the Tatcha! I got a few on sale so I am not exploring other options right now.

Thanks for sharing! I had a feeling but it’s hard to confirm with only these teensy brows lol! Whew I get it - the Tatcha IS the best mineral sunscreen I’ve ever found. But it’s also $60 ahaha…😅

Picked up that SPF in Ulta's sunscreen sale with 10x points! As a fellow dry-skinned person who's prone to breakouts, I've enjoyed it. I haven't noticed it drying out my skin, but I ALWAYS use moisturizer first and...well... it's summer. I'l probably pick it up again if I see it on sale.

Random comment for this video, but as a generalized FYI the Osea ocean cleanser mixes really well with no scent or bad scent cleansers to level up the experience. I know you found it drying which isn't something I'd experience, but I'm finishing off my current bottle in conjunction with the Stratia cleansing milk and you put maybe 1/4-1/3 Osea in and it dramatically improves (IMO) the experience at a much smaller cost compared to buying Osea on is own. I think having the pH normalize may also reduce the drying effect you experienced since it may nullify the exfoliating acids.
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole 2 года назад
Interesting! That’s a good call. I was just on the Stratia site debating buying another cleanser. It’s so basic, but so good…I can see adding another cleanser to it really improving the experience!

I've got quite a few videos to catch up on but wanted to pop in and say hi🤗. I do like this sunscreen but I don't know if I will repurchase it. Some reason the second application just doesn't work out most the time, it ends up being too dewy for my liking(maybe bc I'm combo/more oily prone). Love the shirt, I don't know about you but I'm beyond done with summer and it's giving me the fall vibes I so desperately need🧡🍁🎃

@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole 2 года назад
Oh yeah, yep that was in my speed reviews - it’s a very hydrating product, but in a thicker consistency than most toners I’m considering a full 2-week+ review of that line indeed - i’m thinking it might not make for any kind of an intense results situation, but rather overall healthy skin?
@cunty
@cunty 2 года назад
@@AliceintheRabbitHole that personally would be very helpful to me. looking into that line to provide more hydration for my skin because i'm just starting adapalene at at a 0.3% concentration while simultaneously moving to a colder climate in a little over a month. my toner and moisturizer(s) right now just aren't cutting it for my already dry skin. hope you do!

Hallo, oh very interested in this review. I use 50 mineral on my face. Is 30 okay ? I also saw a RU-vid video saying zinc (?) Cream Should be applied under mineral sunscreen. I am very confused. I figured you were the perfect person to ask. Love your channel! Thank you ❤️
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole 2 года назад
Mineral sunscreens almost always contain zinc oxide (and some add titanium dioxide) as zno is far easier to make broad spectrum. But you wouldn’t need to add extra zinc oxide; it’s more important to apply the sunscreen itself in an even but thick enough layer (1/4 tsp for the average face, but possibly more if you’re also coating ears/hands at the same time) I do believe spf 30 is adequate for most people for most days, yes. Hope that helps! ☺️
@tamizilla
@tamizilla 2 года назад
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yes , thank you so much. I was very confused. Leah from skinBeautiful RX said on her post yesterday (one and only one I have seen) said to put a layer of Zinc on before mineral sunscreen. I was baffled. Thank you so much for helping me and taking the time to answer my questions. Really appreciate it. I was only picturing a mess on my skin if I did that. I really love how you explain products. I almost always leave understanding and better informed. ❤️

i really wanna try this sunscreen but im scared that it will peel. i used a gel mineral sunscreen before and all it did was peel really bad. right now im using the tinted mineral sunscreen from sun bum. i really like that one but i would like a non tinted sunscreen
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Год назад
It’s all right but tbh I have some mineral sunscreens I do prefer. I really like the live tinted. it’s tinted, but it’s…eh. It’s hard to explain, but it’s not the usual “foundation” like tint. Instead I suspect the tone is from the sea buckthorn in it, and it kind of disappears into my skin. I also like the axis-y sunscreen (k-beauty), though it’s a bit more for oily skin types than my own. And finally, the good molecules sunscreen is $12 and shockingly nice? I didn’t expect to like that one as much as I do. Hope that helps!
