This is a vocal period that would never ever be reached again by absolutely no one, even Mimi herself, her voice at that time wasn't normal, it was just out of this planet!
what do you know about music and who knows singing -whitney houston and some other blacks singere are the greatest singers in the world and the billboard proves it ... No comparison possible
Not one singer of this caliber keeps their prime voice forever ! No Whitney, no Celine …no one . Current Mariah still sings MILES better than most singers when rested
@@smsyts I was talking about the Capitol hill Washington May 1996 performance which was a semi-note lower. So it would be easier for her to belt the G5 because in the original key it would be an A5, which she only belted ONCE in The One live 2002 Shining through the rain.
I do believe this is Mariah Carey’s best performance of this song. The reverb of the environment adds to the power that she puts behind her pitch-perfect vocals.
No comparison with whitney... See - Here's a look back at the many chart achievements that the gifted vocalist accomplished.. Whitney Houston is the best ever and you know it....ALBUM CHART QUEEN: no woman led the Billboard 200 albums chart quite like Houston. Houston is the only woman to have tallied reigns of more than 10 weeks with multiple albums. While no other woman has more than one such set STRONG SEVEN: Houston holds the Billboard Hot 100 record for most consecutive No. 1 charted singles, having tallied seven in-a-row from 1985 through 1988, for your information.
@@elicase1851 You know that Mariah has a lot more achievements than Whitney in general and especially on Billboard right? She's also ranked above Whitney in the rank of the greatest artist of all time . They are both Legends .
You can tell her this is 1994. Her voice changed so much since 1993, just like 1996 from 1995. You could blindfold me and I would be able to tell which year it was based on her voice.
This was around the same time she did Endless Love with Luther Vandross in Royal Albert Hall (RAH). Listen closely to all the falsetto "you's" that she does here. They are near identical to the ones she does in Endless Love in RAH. This time period, in my opinion, is her vocal prime.
What a beautiful, young and pure soul! Nobody can beat her at what she is doing best: belting out her ballads with heartfelt emotions. This is arguably one of her best performances of this classic anthem as it is simplified and purified to her very voice only without the glamour and glitz of her modern versions. MARIAH FOREVER YOU TOUCH ME DEEP DOWN INSIDE!
I agree. Music box and Merry Christmas era was definitely her true prime. She had the fluidity and ease of daydream but held onto her power and soul from debut and emotions.
