Honestly I really like how they took the multi-segment finale idea from the OE and flipped it on it's head. You're not escaping, you're infiltrating. You're not in danger, you _are_ the danger. Edit: it's werid seeing this no longer being called "rocket 2"
I think they might be in the upcoming one It was kind of repetitive hearing the same 2 songs each match but I think they might add this and the rocket 4 song to Splatfests and have the 3mix for finalfest
@@inklingplush7592 Listened to Smash's selection and an Off The Hook concert for a couple years, but I mainly listened to the vocal stuff. Happy to say S3 has my favorite OST in the series (at least from everything I've heard). love Love LOVE the way this game uses and treats its music
@@SackMan039 someone ripped the entire ost that we have atm i believe, and ya i agree 3's music is so much just. more. its more layered and is inkredible how much detail is put into it
Shark Bytes hits a lot harder and it's way less crowded but I get what you mean. I like the bit where they sing together similarly to just Marina in the beginning of Shark byes.
Agent 3 climbing their way up the Rocket to this song, made me realize just how absolutely badass they are, unstoppable by all waves of enemies. Imo probably the strongest Agent to date, so far! They literally saved the planet!
Playable Agent power tier list, 4 we’ve barely seen anything with her, 8 she is extremely smart and is also a poet she’s also a part of the army, she was able kick inner agent 3’s ass, new 3 saved the world and is a master of parkour and has survived in the dry desert wilderness with her lil god in a bag, Captain 3 there’s a reason why 8 dreams about her sheer badassery
Climbing through the NILS Statue was a huge highlight of Octo Expansion so I'm totally fine with them doing it again for 3. Getting those little bits of [villain]'s plan and the reveal of Deep Cut's motivation in between segments was really cool too
I really like the Octo Canyon/Valley and Octo Expansion hybrid feel they went for Return of the Mammalians Especially how they brought back the big multi-phase mission leading up to an ultimate showdown at the end
Not gonna lie the beginning part of this song gave me serious early 2000s vibes and made me think of those songs you would hear in those old video game demo kiosks
I agree so heavily. All those tons of racing games that have this exact genre of music from way back when. It feels like a callback and then it twists it even more
If there's one memory that this song brings me back to, it's the memory of charging right through the enemy-filled gates of the second section with all of those Specials. It's like grabbing hold of your rage, your raw determination to save the world, and manifesting it in only some of the most powerful and devastating forces possible. And this is just the kind of music to support that vibe too. Good job, Nintendo.
Love the Alterna Mission Clear motif in here. Reminds me of how the Mission Clear motif of Octo Expansion levels and getting thangs was included in Fly Octo Fly.
There's going to be a Splatoon 3 concert on October 8-9 in Japan. I hope this song is played along with the one played in the 4th phase of the Rocket levels. Edit: So they only played this song for the concert. Hopefully they include Rocket 4 and Till Depth Do Us Part in the next concert.
There are a lot of cool details in this song. A lot of people have already pointed out that it uses the Alterna mission clear leitmotif, but something that hasn't been mentioned yet is that the concert version also incorporates the Grizzco guitar riff and is exactly 3 minutes and 33 seconds long.
Spoilers This whole final segment really reminded me of Portal, with the puzzle solving, the whole 'huge, bottomless futuristic facility' setting on the hangar, heck, even with the final battle ending in space.
I've been listening to this track for weeks, and it wasn't until I was humming it to myself that I realized this is what the level clear jingle is based on.
Ah yes, the song of me tearing up so many enemies with specials in a quick fashion, it just feels so badass tearing through all the fuzzy octolings with this at your back
To be honest, I feel like "Hide and Sleek" fits this more than "Raid Under Storm and Stress" because when this song plays in one of the rocket levels of story mode, you're literally playing "Hide and Sleek" with the enemies because most of them are either hiding in their ink, or some of them come out of nowhere, and you're trying to look for them to kill them, so you can go to the next rocket level, but if y'all like "Raid Under Storm and Stress," Then that's fine too, it's just a little observation I made while replaying the rocket levels.
I swear after playing the hero mode this track was stuck in my head for 2 weeks(specifically the 2:24 part) but I never could find what it was called and at some point I just thought I made it up.
I just realized that this song is a remix of the regular mission complete while the other one is a remix of the boss complete theme Thats actually pretty cool
Hot take, despite how much everyone compares this to Shark Bytes, I actually think I prefer this one over Shark Bytes honestly. Shark Bytes never grew on me really, and it is good, but I think I just prefer the overall feel and especially the chorus of this over Shark Bytes. Both are good songs, but I personally prefer this one.
I've always enjoyed final level music like this. I can physically feel myself do better as if music itself is unleashing an extra level of potential in my accuracy and speed.
recent comments are reminding me when bomb rush blush's english name was revealed, we were calling it "tokimeki bomb rush" for months and a lot of people hated the official localization at first xD coincidentally, in both of these cases the official name halved the syllable count of the conjectural name, from 6 syllables to 3... weird LOL
Raid Under Storm And Stress is the official name of the song according to the live concert. Edit: I guess the official title is Hide And Sleek now. First name was better imo tho
