@@GrimReader Yes. Mozart, Glen Gould, Hendrix, Coltrane, Prince. He deserves to be spoken of among such esteemed company. His musical talent was perhaps only exceeded by his charisma. He was one of those artists who seemed utterly possessed by his art. When he was in the "zone", you could tell that P. Rodgers Nelson was just *gone*. There was music, the performance, and the man-as-conduit. This isn't to downplay how much work it takes to get to such rarified, mountainous heights, but most of us mere mortals can do 1000 times the work, the study, the practice - and if we're lucky, we'll maybe get a little higher than base camp (to extend the mountain metaphor) & that's ok. As long as the joy remains, it's worth it. I'm no Nietzsche apologist, but when he wrote "without music, life would be a mistake", he had a hair of a point. I am, however, deeply biased. I'm an amateur musician:)
