Thank you for this video! I really wish these were phased out during the simplifications in 2017. The game is hard enough to learn as it is! Thank you for making these invaluable tutorials!

Very nice. Being placed from outside the game also means chamber can posion if he didnt move or placed by in game effect. Forgot the page but its in the rulebook
@TheTabletopTeacher
@TheTabletopTeacher 6 лет назад
Oh... that's odd. Because the ID Cards specifies that you "place the ID Character adjacent..", while Poison starts with "If this character hasn't moved or been placed..." . If you find that reference that circumvents the condition for using Poison with ID Characters, please share it. I've been judging this wrong if that's the case (it never occurred to me to look for a exception on this). Thanks!

Sidebar at top of page 12: "Placing a game piece onto the map from off the map (including at the beginning of the game) isn’t the same as the game term “place” discussed here. “Can’t be placed” effects stop Telekinesis, carrying, knock back, and any other effects that choose a character already on the map and place it elsewhere on the map, but do not affect “placement” from off the map onto the map."

What happens to a token generated by an I.D. character? If Ms. Marvel is called in and she generates a token, does the token also return to your sideline at the beginning of your next turn?
@samus88

I don't understand what's the point of the "inspiration" if most of them are effects that require an action, and the character adjacent to the ID character has to be given a power action to do the call-in the first place... so they will never be able to use the inspiration, say for example +1 to attack, if by the next turn, where why could be given a new costed action, the ID character will be removed and the effect gone. So either you have to call-in someone when you have two friendly character adjacent, or you need to specifically use a figure that can be given an attack at no cost, so they can use the inspiration even after having already be given a costed action that turn. It's a really weird mechanic that I just can't figure out.

So tabletop who's your most powerful heroclix figure?
@TheTabletopTeacher
@TheTabletopTeacher 6 лет назад
Really hard to say... A figure's power is only as strong as the team it's in. There are figures I just love because they're fun to play : Mr. Mxyzptlk (SMWW), colossal Dormammu, Rat King (the mind-controlling one from TMNT), ... I could go on forever!

+The Tabletop Teacher My best has to be doomsday himself.By the way I would like to also thank you for all the videos you've uploaded cause I was compleatly clueless when I started playing.First guys I ever got were "Iron man 3".Then I got a [LOS]booster pack and I got "Takion,Black manta,Lighting lad,Tyroc and Mister miracle.After that I was andd still is hooked with the heroclix.So in some way I blame the guys that got me involved with this game and I blame you for keeping me hooked into the best game I've ever played lol.And now I have over a hundred.Probbaly not as much as you but hey I mean I've never gotten a duplictate.Hopfuly I can talk to you again.And keep up the videos.

I have Jane foster from the mighty thor set and it says that when a friendly figure get's k.o. she becomes thor[the girl thor].So i was wandering how that works.Could you let me know?
@2mirandir
@2mirandir 6 лет назад
Here is a quick overview of how it works. When an adjacent friendly character is KO'd due to an opposing characer's attack and after resolutions you can decide to replace her with Thor. If you decide to do so you roll a D6 and then take the Thor figure from your sideline and turn it's dial to the click number matching the result of the D6 roll. Now remove Jane Foster from the map and place her on the sideline and then place the Thor figure on the map in the same square that Jane Foster was in. If Jane Foster had any action tokens then those belong to Thor instead now. Any Equipment that Jane Foster had equipped is unequipped. It does not pass over to Thor and so does pretty much everything else that applied to Jane foster. And since Thor is worth more points than Jane Foster then if your opponent KO's thor he/she will score 100 points for that rather than the 30 points that Jane Foster is worth. When a character is replaced there are threethings that carry over from the replaced character to the replacement character: 1. The action tokens. Including any action token that is placed as a result of the replacement. 2. If the replaced character has been given a costed action during the urn then the replacement character is also considered to have been given a costed action in that turn. 3. If the replaced character has been carried during the turn then the replacment character is also considered to have been carried. All other effects that applied to the character that is replaced goes away. You can read more about Replacemen characters on pages 31 & 32 of the 2017 rulebook.

+Johan Karlsson So do I have to pay the cost of thor before the game or does the point cost not matter?

This is a game element I personally hate. I just can't figure out how it's justified thematically, and so I refuse to use them. They are effectively REQUIRED for competitive play, but I don't care.
@TheTabletopTeacher
@TheTabletopTeacher 6 лет назад
Organous, I agree with you on this. There is something odd about having a heavy hitter, or any other type of character for that matter, come in to lend a hand in a fight for a couple of seconds and just go back to whatever he or she was doing. Thematically, it’s a little strange. I’m not a competitive player myself and rarely make use of ID Cards, but I think they can be a fun way to explore characters that are often left unplayed.

When ID cards first came out I didn't really get the point. I used one once to bring in a Black Widow that had Precision Strike so I could get through someone's Super Senses but that was in sealed, I rarely used them in constructed. I always thought they were just for when you were really injured and your stats had dropped a lot because otherwise why wouldn't you just attack yourself? The force blast thing is a nice example (nicer than calling in balls of fury anyway). I also felt kinda proud doing as well as I did at WKOs and stuff without ID cards or even a sideline at all. Comparing my team sheet to my opponents I tended to have three or four characters listed and they had about 10 counting all the ID cards and characters so I felt extra good beating them, showing that simplicity still works. ID cards can be really good at competitive though, which is kinda annoying because as well as having to acquire the SR figure you also need their con ex ID card for example. I have a lot more fun with them now there are more lower point options. I played a casual JSA team today and included a Green Arrow ID card, then the common 40 point Wonder Woman called him in to attack bombshell Supergirl who was too far away for her to get to, and the inspiration meant Sand could get +2 attack AND damage thanks to his own RCE. I got a Colossus ID card at a WKO as well and have an X-Men team ready to go that includes it. This got really long sorry but also wanted to include some of the funner ways I've seen them used are in more competitive games: I watched a game where someone called in Zatanna on their first turn to drop the John Constantine bunny who was then there for the rest of the game, and someone against me at a WKO last year brought in a Flash to inspire Mangog to have +3 movement to help him get to my starting area quicker.

Avengers ID cards really do fit thematically.
@alexkaspraksucks
@alexkaspraksucks 6 лет назад
I agree with most of what's been said. I think the problem is that they are so cheap, and the limitation on how many characters your force has isn't really that limiting. If they could be limited to one per team, or maybe were higher cost I think that could help without taking them out of the game completely. One idea I had was that the first one on your force was cheap, but as you add more they would cost more. Having said that, they really are great for filling in the last few points in a team. I'm currently building a few competitive teams, and whenever I find myself missing 5-8 points I'll add a card or two.

More often, with those figures have the Shifting Focus trait. Plenty of them in World's Finest, Deadpool and X-Force, Avengers/Defenders War...
