OMG my whole family still play Heroes 3 on a weekly basis after all these years. I've even gotten friends and neighbours into it, and they've become obsessive fans of the game as well.
Great video! I would recommend that you try the PC game it's really fun. The best version of the game is to get horn of the abyss expansion. There is online multiplayer with simultanious turns, also there are 2k players online daily. Besides that campaings are really fun and there are great single scenarios since game features map editor and communitiy makes wonderful maps e.g the devil is in the details map
Oh, I thought I mentioned it during the video but yeah, HoMM3 is one of my all time favorite video games! Still have my original CD and box from '99. I started playing the series with HoMM2! Absolutely love it. I've never actually tried HotA before, but I do enjoy the HD modded version with auto-battles, etc. I've been playing through the Tarnum campaigns recently, which is the only stuff I never played back in the day. I've also played 4 and 5, but never played 6 and 7. Looking forward to Olden Era!
Thank you for that extensive unboxing. Honestly, was watching it to make myself up about whether I should back this game. And if so which version, the big box or separate stack. And... I kinda still don't know. Do not get me wrong they look beautiful, like each box with their art is magnificent but I cannot possibly imagine preparing the game opening 6 boxes to get all my components... This is riddiculous... On the other hand the big box also looks like a collectors gimmick, you can't possibly move that... And putting everything on the table, with same faction minis mixed on different levels of insert is like a chore... After all, maybe that's what it is - a collectors' gimmick and nostalgia baby product. How much of the game is in that game?
It's a good question, and yeah, I suspect a lot of the success of the campaign (and the new one that just started) is notalgia/collectors. HoMM3 is one of my all-time favorite games, so I'm certainly not immune to it! The game is is long and fiddly, with some questionable balance toward resource gain. On the other hand, I like the spells/skills/artifacts transformed into deckbuilding, the map tiles are greatness, and the minis are wonderful, even if they're technically optional unless playing with the Battlefield expansion. I'll say this: it's not a game I'm going to play very often, but I enjoy having it on my shelf.
I do think it's coming to retail, or at least through Archon Studios. I think they mentioned that new expansions will be retail instead of Kickstarter, for example.
I'm very leery about using any music that's not explicitly royalty-free in my videos. I do absolutely adore that HoMM3 soundtrack tho (HoMM2 is great too!).
some board games better to play on pc(if they are exist for pc e.g. catan, carcassonne...), heroes better to play on pc, someone just decided to earn money on boardgames players
The board game is quite fiddly, it takes awhile, and the rulebook is a mess, but there's a lot to love here, and the minis and map tiles are fantastic. I'm looking forward to that new HoMM PC game, too!
