It’s been around 3-4 years since I discovered your channel. It was when I had a terrible tinnitus and your videos helped me fall asleep. I have recovered and I’m doing really well but came back to thank you for your work. Hope you are doing well sir !
Just realized that last two days i spent like 13 hours to watch 3 of your videos. And these days were awesome same as ur videos! Thank u very much. Keet it up!

+TheKnownWorld Try what I call "The Demo Challenge". The HoMM3 demo featured the "Dead and Buried" Small Map, with a time limit of 1 month to win. So try to beat "Dead and Buried" (Small Map) 200%, no grail (it only has a few fixed positions on the map), no modded features (like hero invite) in under 1 month. Anything else goes (DD, Town Portal, etc). I'm not sure it's even possible, but I'd love to see you try. :)
its just nice to see this game still beeing alive..when i think of this game i still associate my brother with tower, my good friend with rampart my neighbour with castle and me playing with stronghold ...and when i hear this gorgeous townmusic it teleports me right back in time :D
I know its a minor detail, but I'm just so annoyed by the in-town techno music (especially when the original music is so iconic). I usually love your videos though. Keep up the good work.
+Peter Hammerberg Ah, thank you for your input! I actually left the music without saying anything because I wanted to get some honest feedback on whether or not some of these music replacements were well-liked or not. ;) Besides, you can find the Stronghold music just about anywhere so I thought it might be nice to use something different for a change.
+TheKnownWorld I like the idea and the approach. Not a fan of this particular one, but as I said, I like your videos and I'm definitely gonna continue watching.

Stronghold! the faction of manliness and smashing things with your fists! a suprisingly intricate faction that isn't anywhere near as straightforward as one might think. their units for the msot part are above average offensively, but either squishy or lacking in movementspeed. getting the first strike and conserving your forces is something one has to master to command the full power of the mighty Stronghold. that said, they are fantastic as a faction and have many bases covered! goblins are a competent fast tier 1 for cheap money, a bit squishy for what they are, but a fair deal nontheless. wolf riders and especially raiders are glass cannons, quick and with unreasonably onesided stats in favor of attack, and raiders with their double strike ability retain damage potential even in the lategame, though they are hard to be kept in a sizeable amount for more than 1 or 2 real battles as they are a primary target for archers and spells thanks to their bad defense stat and low hitpoints. orcs are a somewhat average tier 3 unit, their ranged attack distinguishes them and gives them a nice role in stronghold. surprisingly tough for a stronghold unit, these guys are slow to compensate, ensuring that they will be phased out towards the end stages of the game. ogres have similiar problems, where their stats and hp are the stuff of legends, but their speed is jsut that poor. that said, ogres and especially ogre amgi sometimes find their way into slower moving armies, as their strength in combat is undeniable. then there are cyclopses. cyclopsi? anyway, i like them, but the consensus is: too expensive to tech into (their building is more expensive than tier 7), and not strong enough to be worth it. that said, a decent amount of these can be devastating, and they can turn walls into rubble if need be. and then there are tier 5 and 7 of stronghold. those 2 are prolly the reason stronghold has a strong hold on competitive for a non-necro non-conflux faction. rocs and thunderbirds are jsut an amazing tier 5 unit, strong, fast and with a powerful ability equipped. they are the core unit of any stronghold army, as their offensive capabilities are only matched by minotaurs and gorgons in the same tier. on that note, how come that tier 5 is either absolutely amazing (thunderbirds, minotuarkings, liches and mighty gorgons, hell lords for their ability) or absolute trash (dendroids, zealots, magma elementals, hell lords for their stats)? i guess there are genies, whicha re somewhat in the middle, but still. the tier 7 is of course the behemoth, who jsut is a great bruiserunit. high HPand the ability to reduce enemy defense makes these guys dangerous and competitive with any other tier 7 unit. they are on the slow side for tier 7 units though, and greatly benefit from having first strike. all in all, these guys are fantastic, and quickly teched into, and will surely make short work of all the units your raiders and thunderbirds couldn't finish off by themselves. so yeah, stronghold. i like them a lot.

@@Berchh no need to be rude, right? It could be put up in more diplomatic way, e.g. "Hey, Kristian, good to know there is another HOMAM player. 👍 However, not sure, that this is the right place for self promotion. I suggest, that people here will be rather annoyed. Have you tried twitch or other platforms?"

+Fiodor Mianowski Thanks! And yes, to be honest, I also found it pretty hard to believe that I hit Behemoths on Week 1 myself (on 200% difficulty, no less!). I would imagine that this isn't very common though, and you need a fair amount of luck with the resources present on your map.
Hi! I have discovered your channel some weeks ago and I love it. I think i'd be interesting if in the next video you play as a non popular hero or someone without all the best secondary skills, something like that. I think it could be an interesting challenge. Thank you very much and continue like that!
+diego u Hello diego u! If you're interested in a video where I do this in, I have one in Fortress where I play Drakon. Perhaps this might interest you? :P Regarding the next video(s), I would personally prefer to play the mainstream heroes so that viewers learn what heroes are the most "ideal" and so that they can be seen in action. But allow me to give that notion some thought.
You are awesome Mekick, aside from the UBER-PLAYING-EXPERIENCE-IMPROVEMENT that is the HD-mod(Thanks!! I learned from it's existence watching this very video, it was the comments that spoiled it =)) Really man, watching your gameplays, not only you try to make it insightful and precise, but you are also LEGIT having fun/feeling pain while doing so, this game is just awesome, all you need is one bad fight, and the shit can hit the fan very quickly, you need to always be thoughtul of your every step, every piece of gold you find or spend, every move you make in a battle, trying to grasp for any advantage you might leverage, whilst abjudcating yourself from all mindless actions, there must be purpose to things, otherwise they shall not see the light of day(of the screen actually, lulz).

hi - ive been eatching many of ur h3 vids - ur wery good as a h3 player. im suprised there are sum players that actually play h3. i wish i could play h3 w u sum day. ty 4 making vids. keep it up ;3
+kristians šostaks Hello, and thank you for the compliment! However, I note that there are still far better players out there than myself (like Maretti0), so there's still room for improvement. Anyway, when I first started streaming Heroes III, I was surprised myself that so many people still played the game so you're not alone in that opinion. If you want to play Heroes III with me, you might be interested in coming to my Saturday streams where I play against viewers from time to time. And most of all, it's my pleasure to make the videos. So thank you for watching them! :)
+TheKnownWorld u know - im playing heroes for like 7 years. reallt like ur playstile. ill start watching ur channel more often. have i any chance to play w u one day.
Hi man. Interesting game you made. If you allow me to say another huge mistake is to go inside in battle with no upgrades Behemoths. Behemoth is very, very weak in comparison with ancient Behemoth. No Upgrades Behemoth is just free loses. Always upgrade Behemoth before you go in battles. If you ask me after you make Behemoth layer you start prepare for upgrade Behemoth layers. But anyway, 10x you make this great games! Always is pleasure to watch your matches.
I'm glad you liked the video! While ideally it would be nice to take battles with Ancient Behemoths over their basic counterparts, sometimes this just isn't possible (especially during the early stages of the game). Trust me when I say that I value the upgrade for Behemoths considerably since their upgraded counterparts are, as you've already stated, much stronger. However, as you saw from this episode, I barely managed to get a Behemoth Lair on Week 1. An upgraded Behemoth Lair was far too expensive until later on in the match. Cheers!
Stronghold is beautiful! Easily my second favorite faction overall! It is also one of the most viable towns in competitive pvp and doesnt get banned like Necro :'( CRAG SMASH

LOL I'm never sure if i LOVE that town background music or if I really HATE it XD It makes my brain go crazy trying to determine which one of them :D:D:D
The futuristic twist here and there in the stronghold castle-music makes me curious about what a ( well crafted ) heroes-III-clone-game would be like with various alien factions! :O What would the cities look like and the units / what would the heroes be riding :O ? Etc.
With the world inspired by the medieval period of an alien civilization! Just like heroes 3 is inspired by fantasy and the medieval period for humans :D:D
lol, that would be a very interesting variation of the game indeed! I wonder what such a version of Heroes III would look like. Perhaps they’d ride on mechanical horses? :P
I've never been as big a fan of the stronghold music as many people seem to be (Tower for me, babeh), but I have to agree with those who say that this remix is just ":(". I mean it probably brings some novelty if you're sick to death of the original, but without that... ":("
+Sariel Ever It seems that they use that theme in HoMM6 as well as HoMM2's Knight town theme (which is where I originally picked it up). So yes, it is probably that theme you're thinking of! :P
+Sariel Ever The soundtrack used for Dynasty menu in Heroes VI is original from H3 (WinScenario) and H2 (PoL Knight town screen). Heroes VI features a lot of arranged music from older installments, particularly from Heroes 2 and 3.
+Alexandru Ivascu I replaced it temporarily since I wanted to see what the reception to the newer music would be. I like the old theme, but I rather enjoy this remix as well. :)
+Alexandru Ivascu My best guess is that he changed it to avoid RU-vid's automatic audio track copyright claims as I heard Meridian had some problems regarding that in the past.
Hey man, really love your videos! I have a question, you obviously use some kind of mod or expansion (seeing as you can split stacks fast, see how far enemies move, no popups etc). What mod is that and were can I find it? And does it work in hotseat? Me and my best friend was talking about playing again for some sweet nostalgia :)
Hello! The mod that you are looking for is the HD mod (not HD Edition), downloadable from sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/. This mod will work for Hot Seat, but I don't think that Replayable Quick Combat is available when you do so. Otherwise, you're good to go! :)

"I don't know how barbarians be be super strong spellcasters... themeatically it makes no sense to me." My friend, have you heard of the mystical, the powerful, the rage mage. Not only is it funny alliteration, but funny to think really mad barbarians stomp and slam the ground to make earthquakes happen.
Hi, I have subscribed your channel since I enjoy HOMM 3 a lot but I finally had the time and peace of mind to watch one of your videos. I was wondering if you are using any mods, since I have the Complete version and some stuff on yours seems diferent (Crag Hack info window on mine is much smaller, for instance). If you have answered this question on some other instance, I am sorry. I wish you the best for the next videos!
+Homem das Taças Yes, actually! I'm using the HD mod, which can be downloaded for free from sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/. The HD mod is responsible for most of the features you see in the video. Cheers!
Very good "showcase" of the Stronghold! I can't believe I watched the whole video...well,it is a mekick's video so everything is possible :) Btw, how did you add those new music effects? Like,in stronghold, the remix...do you download these from somewhere? PS: I am kakas :P
+Mrsupergaming z Thanks for your support, Kakas! And also for being one of the first to comment on something other than the music. ... And for watching the whole video. ;) To "add" new music effects, you need to go to your Heroes III directory and look for the "mp3" folder. In that folder there will be a lot of sound files (with befitting names, like COMBAT01 for example). Just rename the old sound files, move the replacement sound file into the folder, and rename it into the file you want. I was able to acquire the remixes via questionable methods, so I'll leave you to figure that part out for yourself. Does this make sense?
TheKnownWorld Yea,it kinda does...yea :D Thanks! Oh and another thing:when we tried to play heroes in your stream (it failed spectacularly),the gameranger method now works...I have played a lot of Heroes 3 with other guys in there.Well,in these phrases I mean: thanks for showing me the gameranger app,it is awesome! (When I joined a H3 game,a guy recognized me: Are you the one that played in mekick's stream? I felt great...)
Mrsupergaming z Well that's awesome! I'm glad to see you have other ways to enjoy Heroes III even considering this weekend's circumstances. Have a good week. :) By the way, do you happen to remember the name of the person who recognized you on GameRanger?
hey dude love your vids keep up the good work, I was just wondering; will you ever play other games then HoM&M or will you keep your channel only for HoM&M?
+אסף אילי For the time being, the main focus of this channel is Heroes III-related content specifically. In the future, I may consider branching out videos for other games (Diablo II or Fallout II perhaps? :P). But taking into account the limited amount of free time I have, I would prefer to stick to Heroes III Complete and Horn of the Abyss.
+Veki AKA Trollface106 That's right. Don't get me wrong -- I've seen the comments. I'm just deliberately withholding Cove to be a tease. ;) The best for last.
Hi! Great work, I love your 1v7 series. Where to get sucha H3 version (u can divide units in a second and for e.g. u can see enemy unit movement range during combat)? I assume its HD version but u have it with expansions
+R SZ Hello! I'm happy to see you've been enjoying the series thus far. Your assumption is not entirely true. I am actually using the original version of Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death (NOT Ubisoft's HD Edition for Restoration of Erathia on Steam) along with the HD mod, downloadable from sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/.
You’re right in that I consciously made sure that the other faction videos have alliteration-based names and perhaps I should've done the same with this video, but I particularly liked the title “Extremoth Behemoth” when it was suggested for the Stronghold playthrough. ;D
I guess, good reason to break a stream! Btw inspired from your videos, I started researching math in HOMM3, found a lot of interesting stuff, maybe will someday make a videos myself about that! What you think? Would the community like it?
To be honest, I’m not too sure how to respond to your question regarding whether or not the Heroes III community will like your videos. I suppose it depends on how correct and well-presented your findings are. :P Keep in mind that numbers don’t always tell the full story when it comes to each of the different factions. For example, I’ve seen people try and pit factions up against each other based on weekly growth alone, which obviously doesn’t consider factors like Necromancy in such comparisons. I think you should give it a try! At the very least, making these types of videos would be a nice learning experience for yourself. Even if your videos aren’t well-received, you can exercise your creativity and knowledge in Heroes III.
I'm kind of itching to play this game (Again), and your version seems to have some presentational differences that I can notice at a glance. Are you playing a modded version, and if so, what are you using?
Hi MeKick! Just picked up on your videos, am loving it so far :D will you potentially do a Cove 1v7 FFA sooner or later? Just tried out HotA myself and dig the faction, and would like to see your take/comments on it :)
+WeeMando101 Hello WeeMando101! I'm happy to see that you've been enjoying my videos thus far. :) To answer your question, it isn't so much that I will "potentially" do a Cove 1v7 FFA, but I am fully intending to and am saving it as "the best for last." So you have something to look forward to in the near future! Cheers :P
hey, i really like the different music you added there, can i listen to it somehow? i know i am a bit late, but maybe i can get an answer :D nice video! subscribed
Hello! Although this video came out quite some time ago, I do still reply to comments on my older content ;) To answer your question, yes, you can listen to the music I used elsewhere. I wrote a link in the description of this video to the RU-vid channel where I originally got this from. In case you didn't see it, you can find the original source from ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mQsLyNC8Vek.html. Thanks for the sub!
What version of H3 SOD has the option to quickly create stacks and transfer artifacts from one hero to another? I saw MEKICK did that in the first battle.I need this version. Tks
These are features that come with the free Heroes III HD mod. You can find the HD mod at sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/. With the HD mod: CTRL+Click creates a 1-stack ALT+Click groups up all units of one type SHIFT+Click splits a stack into two halves CTRL+SHIFT+Click fills up all empty slots with a 1-stack of the selected unit I hope this helps!
If there was an artifact that would allow a hero to store 600 unused movement points for the next day, what class would it have to be in order to be balanced?
That's a good question, actually. When taking into consideration the existence of Boots of Speed (Minor), I think that an artifact that stores movement points would be safe as a Major-class artifact, depending on which slot it would occupy.
I tried changing the StrongHold with the remix version, and when I tried to test it out, all I heard when visinting the town was silence & loud crackles. So I tried to download HD Mod again (Since im on a new PC), and I can't even get to launch the game with HD MOD, nor can I see a tutorial video of it. (Update: I was gonna uninstall & re-install Heroes 3 Entirely, and I can't even find a place to download the game itself. Im taking assumptions that you can't just download the HD Launcher in order to play the game.)
Stronghold + Crag Hack is so damn fun. How do you walk back through a portal/underworld gate without moving like at 55:51? Also what is your opinion on Heroes 5?
Indeed it is! You need only press the Space Bar key to step on the same square that you're currently on (this is not available in the Steam HD Edition). I've only tried Heroes V once, but I can't say I enjoyed it very much. The 3D sprites combined with the birdseye view of the game gave me a rather confusing and disorienting experience overall. Oftentimes, I missed resources hidden behind certain objects and just generally wasn't sure what was going on most of the time.
Thanks. That's a shame. I sincerely hope you give it another try sometime. The makers of HoMM V did a absolutely brilliant job by building upon the mechanics of Heroes 3. I even dare say that they did a lot of stuff flat out better that 3DO,simply because they could learn from 3DO's mistakes. I really can't think of a single useless skill in 5,for example. All of the towns also stand out a lot more, with each and every one having at least one unique mechanic and skill tree tied to them. It ain't Heroes 3,but damn it's close. The only thing I outright hate is the lack of snuggly bears, which were by far my favourite unit in Heroes 3 for the reasons the video above showcases.
Oh,and I think I found a possible fix for your camera issues. In options, there is a setting to change the camera angle to "HOMM Classic". It could be of some use.
Uncle Skull,14'th Panonian Regiment of the Imperial Guard I'll take that option into consideration if I do end up playing Heroes V again in the future.
Hey Mekick,I want to ask you something. I know this is completely off topic but if you could help I would appreciate it. I am playing with the HD mod but I dont have the invite hero feature in the tavern. I see you dont have it either. Do you know how to enable it or something? Thanks :)
The HD mod (downloadable from sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/) will allow you to select certain templates and give information about the available number of players and sizes for each template. Also, if you search around on Google for certain Heroes III-based websites (i.e. www.heroes-iii.com/indrantempp.htm), you can get more information as to how the map template actually looks when generated. However, I'm not entirely sure how the naming convention for each template works, except possibly that the "8" in "8XM12", for example, might refer to the number of expected players. The naming conventions could just be arbitrary as well but I'm not certain about that. Beyond this, your guess is as good as mine. I hope this helps!
+puffpeter Yes, absolutely! The Dungeon theme replacement is the Warlock theme from Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty. ;) Hope this helps!
With the HD mod (downloadable from sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/), I use CTRL+Click to create a 1-stack and CTRL+SHIFT+Click to fill up all remaining empty slots with a 1-stack. For a full list of hotkeys that can be used when you have the HD mod, check out sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/eng/description/extended-ui.
Hey MeKick, wouldn't Gretchin be a decent starting hero for Stronghold, given her ability to have up to 75 goblins on day 1, which can the be upgraded to hobgoblins, for early clearing power?
+Giant Rubber Chicken Yes, Gretchin would be pretty decent as a starting hero considering her specialty. However, I'd say that Crag Hack's Offense specialty is more relevant in the long run, and that Gretchin's Pathfinding secondary skill isn't always useful by the late game. Besides, I was trying to be greedy in this video and highlight the brutality of Crag Hack and Behemoths as much as possible, so I went with that start instead.
+TheKnownWorld Yeah, I kinda thought about doing the same thing as Castle-Valeska, where you try to get an early clearing force and bank on getting a main hero later. Plus, Gretchin is still a barbarian, so she could technically serve as a main if no better options arise (especially on Jebus, for movement in the desert)
Giant Rubber Chicken I usually do start with Castle-Valeska, but a lot of players often go Castle-Caitlyn for the +350 Gold specialty. This is especially since there's no top tier main *starting* hero from Castle (in other words, try to find one from another faction). But yes, Gretchin is still totally viable as a main hero. And yes, I'm aware that Pathfinding can be quite useful on Jebus, but I'm not playing Jebus here. :^)
+ODee No, I am only doing one faction. You guys will forever have to search the Wastelands of Fallout II to find the other one. I'm just kidding, of course. I will be doing both within the next two months, but you will help decide which of the two I will be playing first. ;P
