Today video looks at the comic history of The Boys first miniseries Herogasm. Herogasm was an interesting comic as it poked fun at the massive crossover events that have plagued major comic publishers for almost 3 decades now.

This might be a controversial opinion... But the show is so much more well written than the comics. Ennis is a decent writer but much of the boys is just brazen disregard balanced with some close to petty parody. The show does a better job at introducing shades and tones and not being vantablack all the time...

Ngl the comics have another purpose and it's strictly satire lol. The lack of Character developpement is a result of that, we're not supposed to focus on the heroes themselves but the ideas of superheroes doing bad stuff. The show is more compeling because we're ALSO getting attached to them.

Best part of Herogasm in the comics was actually not the Herogasm itself not even close, but the grand conspiracy since the in universe 9/11 attacks, Vought has been pushing, which starts to get revealed at that point in the comics. I hope they bring that plotline into the show
