Still a little bit damp in the low lying parts of Norfolk, then Leasa. Hopefully, when the cuckoo's arrive in just a few weeks time, they'll bring some drier weather with them and you'll be able to leave your 'wellies' in the car... 🙂
Used to be one of our favourite overnight mooring and fishing spots when it was a broads authority controlled mooring. You could watch the bird life during daylight hours and I could fish in the reflection of the pub lights after dark. But we don't stop there now because of the high cost of mooring. We now try and get in at Cockshoots dyke, last year I tried the path from Cockshoots back to the carpark but could only make it about 50yards before the path was blocked by trees and other vegatation. On the occasions that we were land based and I drove down there it was fun driving back in the dark with the road flooded and the reflections in the water. I wonder if this is the Heron that tried to steal my fish when we stayed at Horning Marina, that one would come nearly to arms length from you to try for the fish if you dropped one and you had to watch your hand when you tried to retrieve it. Very nice video as usual even without lots of boats.
I wonder if that is the Heron who came to see me? He came back yesterday morning again but this time he was tapping on the window. The cheek of it. Was he expecting the full breakfast! I would have just quietly walked past him and I do not think the heron would have been bothered. They do seem very much used to us humans. I was planning on doing this walk but as it has been so wet it has not yet happened. One day I shall make it here. Thank you for taking us along on your walk.
I wasn’t scared of him, simply wanted him to search in the water in peace. He said he was looking for apricots but the nice lady up the road wouldn’t open her window today , so he was having to search here instead for frogs. 😉
