A Grey Heron launches an aerial attack on a Great Egret to drive it away. Grey Herons are known to be very aggressive when defending their feeding area. This Heron has just returned to a favourite spot to find a Great White Egret there. The Heron really doesn’t look happy with the arrangement and the situation quickly escalates.

Heron's beak looks like it could do some damage, probably wise of the egret to relocate! Interesting footage, didn't know they were that territorial.

I was watching a video about the Blue Heron last week, I can see why you would enjoy watching them. Very rarely one reaches the UK, I think 2 in total, so I don't expect to see one any time soon :)

Egrets are just herons. But egrets are just the land version of herons, egrets mostly stay on grasslands and they follow and perch on cattles. And egrets are more social, they hunt in flocks and migrate in flocks, you'll see them standing on grasslands in flocks and they perch on cows and horses. Herons are loners, they prefer to hunt alone and migrate alone, you'll see them standing alone on lake and river shores but sometimes they are with their partners.

This isn't your style of video, but you could have played "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" theme at 0:17. Looks like the Heron is the fastest draw in the west (side of the pond).

Too be honest it did cross my mind. I have a wide shot of them standing back to back at opposite sides of the screen. if they had both turned round to face each other it would have definitely been a western themed movie :)
