Another great review. You go to all of these places that I have been to many times. Hershey Farm is good but my favorite buffet in Lancaster County is still Miller's Smorgasbord. Shady Maple is great as well. I know that you have been to both. My all time favorite though is Deinner's. Their food tastes just like home cooking. Have you ever done a review of Katie's Kitchen yet? It is right down tne road from Hershey Farm and it is owned and operated by Amish.
Apple butter & cottage cheese are delish together, as long as you add apple butter sparingly! It's so sweet, it can quickly overwhelm the cottage cheese. Love your videos! I can't get out as much as I did when I was younger- so I like traveling & having my meals "with you"! Thank you so much, great channel!
VAL - WOW WHAT A SPREAD, WOULD NOT KNOW WHERE TO START AND WHERE TO FINISH. WOULD LOVE TO TRY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE AND I LOOOOOVE CHERRY PIES OR CHERRY FRIED PIES. UNFORUNATELY I AM NOT A BIG EATER, SMALL PORTIONS MORE OFTEN FOR ME. I WOULD JUST TAKE WHAT I LOVE TO EAT THOUGH!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING ME ALONG, GOD BLESS, LOVE, VAL.
Thanks for showing us the Hershey Farm Restaurant. Looked like there was about anything anyone could want there. Glad you both enjoyed it! Have a great weekend you two! 😀
My favorite smorgasbord is Hershey Farms and Millers. Great video,I thought I was there with you both. Love the noodles, chicken and woopie pies.. Thank you, be well, be safe.
I was hoping for the rebuild and I’m sure they will make it bigger and better in the Amish way. I was shocked on my last visit there to see it gone. Did you ever stop in at the route 30 dinner in Ronk. Old fashion diner, great food.
The food looks so delicious! Several years ago my husband and I went to visit some friends in Ohio where they have a lot of Amish. Our friends took us to a lot of the Amish shops. Their workmanship is amazing!
Looks nice, I just can't eat much anymore so I avoid most buffets now. I like the option of ordering off the menu and just getting what I really want. Thanks for taking us along.
Another great review. I’ll be honest and say I would have overloaded on the pies: peach, cherry and shoofly. Also the whoopie pie and tried it alone but then gilded the lily with caramel sauce! 😂 You two seem like the nicest folks around and I truly enjoy your interactions with each other. Always look forward to seeing Bobbie’s manicure. Always looks fab! Thanks again!
Thank you for the nice compliment. John and I get along great and enjoy our time together. I do my own nails, so I appreciate the compliment. Unfortunately, this restaurant burned down in November last year. But they are going to rebuild. 😎😎
Hi you both!👋😊 I just discovered your Channel and am now looked! You're both warm and friendly and give wonderful, interesting and informative_ tours..thank's so much!😊👍 The Amish people are fasinating, are'nt they! Gorgeous scenery in Pennsylvania!
Glad you enjoyed it Deborah. We really appreciate you watching and commenting. We love the Amish areas and glad you do. And we really appreciate your kind words you left for Bobbie and I. Very nice of you 😎😎
Wow what a selection of food. I don't think I have ever been anywhere with that much to choose from. That is awesome. Looks delicious . Thank you for sharing this with us. 💕
Did they address the flies...The last time my family and I went, a lot of flies flew around... making the experience unenjoyable. This was about 3 years ago.
Great vlog. Food all looked so delicious. I'm like Bobbie I just cant eat enough to eat at all u can eat places. I like a one trip bar and it's not as high. Loved it though.
I’ve visited this area often. I’ve been in this restaurant but never eaten there. I’m going to have to try it. And now I’m starving and craving a trip to PA. Thanks!! :)
haha, i agree about a kid sticking his finger in the choc tree, as i was in a buffet in Fredericksburg, va, a few years ago and that happened and also a fly got in it. i watched it and watched it and boom, there he went. no more of that for me ever, lol
Thank you for subscribing... Thank you for the nice compliment. John works hard in editing our videos. He does all of it on his phone. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
just saw your channel show up on my home page and subscribed. im just starting to watch it but love how they have the bars up over the booths, in my opinion, it helps keep the toddlers from crawling on you, as many parents have no idea its happening, lol. ok, back to the video…
We appreciate you watching our videos. We just film with the phone and enjoy doing these videos. We watch you tube do we thought we might as well try it ourselves. Great idea about the kids and the bars. Thanks again.😎😎
You guys are so nice i just found ur channel, and i love the places you go to. I like how u go over each item and show us up close. Im afraid of that chocolate fountain lol
I'm from south of Baltimore, Maryland in Glen Burnie. But, I've been to this place a few times with my Church on trips to Sight and Sound theater!!! It looks like the buffet area has been renovated. It looks nice.
So sad this place burned down. I’m from Harrisburg & I’ve never been here. Also like you mentioned chicken pot pie in Pennsylvania is literally served in a pot like a soup. Usually they use large square noodles not egg noodles. They also add small pieces of potato mixed in. Something else is it’s not uncommon for someone to add a little vinegar or saffron to the pot pie as well. Saffron for the color specifically.
@ritadyer9295 They are but not sure when in will open. We will go and show it when it does. We saw it a month ago and it is bigger than the original one and looks very nice. 😎😎
Oh my Bobby I ❤ shoofly pie. Everything looked real good I Love ❤ Hershey. Oh that shrimp looked so delicious. Of course we can't go away with out Desert . They all looked good. Thank you for taking us along with you. So until next time God Bless you both and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear friends. 🍗🍰🦐
That's lot of choices. I would be rolling out of there. Lol. Chicken pot pie goes over the mashed potatoes. I eat cottage cheese with apple butter or with jams like strawberry and blueberry. Ham balls are like ham loaf, which is a western Ohio speciality. Thanks for the review.
Loved eating there when I came with a group that went to Sights and Sounds. We ate in the big dining room and we're served family style. We had ham, fried chicken, roast beef, corn, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls or biscuits. Desserts were apple, cherry or shoo fly pie with ice cream. Loved eating here many years ago. New buffet looks Great. Wish I could have been with Y'all and sampled a little bit of all the foods. Pork n saurkraut, noodles. Cabbage looked real good. Yum, Yum, Yum!!! Fantastic Everyone. Keep up the good work on your reviews. Love and Prayers from Miss Anna Williams from Pennsylvania. Amen ❤️❤️🙏🙏✝️✝️🇺🇦🇺🇦🌻🌻
You would have loved it. Like how they did the buffet and especially the shrimp. Sight and Sound is amazing. Sound like you had some great food when you were there also. Thanks Anna for comment. 😎😎
I'm surprised there was no meatloaf either. But we were here at dinner time so it may have been on the lunch buffet. The chocolate fountain was amazing. Thank for watching😎😎
It burned down yesterday, and the owner plans to rebuild. Praying they will come back stronger and better than before. No one was hurt, and there were no customers inside. The fire was caused by some repair work they were doing while they were being closed for renovations. So you guys may have to wait a while to go back. Here is the link to a video of what happened yesterday: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FmD54DVhVGQ.html Lancaster is an hour away from where I live with my parents, and we have taken trips up there since I was a baby,, and my parents had been going even before I was born, so I guess you could say Lancaster trips run in the family! We first started going to Shady Maple Farm Market way back in the 90's when they had a market and a cafeteria, and they had real Amish women cooking the food, which was really good; and you could smell it! Years later, the original owner passed away, and his son took over, and everything changed completely, and now the cafeteria looks more like a school cafeteria now, and teenagers are cooking the food. We stopped eating there after it changed. We went to a bunch of different places, and we found Hershey Farm to be the best one. The servers and staff treat us like family; three waitress who work there are friends with us. They have the best food there, and it was really yummy the last few times we went there. We were last there a couple weeks ago before the fire happened. Please keep everyone there in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks so much, J & B! I may have to subscribe to your channel since you guys visit my home state a lot! Best wishes from a proud PA resident, Dara
The steamed shrimp looked good. David prefers them hot. The dinner buffet is much larger than the breakfast buffet there. Lots of choices and everything looked fresh.
Unfortunately the restaurant burned down January 10th. The Inn is still there. They are going to rebuild. Prayers for the owners to stay strong. No one was hurt thank God. Restaurant was closed for the season while roof being replaced. Fire started on roof.
Did you try Dieners Restaurant while you were in Ronks? Also nearby Shady Maple? There used to be a bowling alley in Strasburg. Hubby was on a league & we ofen ate at Hershey Farms when you could order off menu. Also have you stayed at any B&B in Strasburg? A friend owns Limestone Inn B&B there. Denise is an excellent cook & hostess.
We did a video on Dieners about a year ago. And we have a Shady Maples breakfast coming out soon, and we did a video of their lunch and dinner about a year ago Never stayed at the B& B. Thanks for watching😎😎
Oh my, so much food, so little time. I would have been all about the peel and eat like John but do love me some stewed tomatoes 😉Those desserts. How do you choose? I just can't eat like I use to so, I am like Bobby and like to spread it out through the day. Best time to go when they have just opened. Things are fresh. Great review guys.
I love going to HF especially on my birthday. You can’t beat that deal anywhere. I am local and haven’t been there since before Covid. Now seeing all this good food I need to go. I miss the place and all of their great food & desserts!!😋😋
Hi John and Bobby. Just letting you know the Hershey Farm and restaurant caught fire yesterday. Billions in damage. So sad. (I was planning on going for my birthday next month)
Thank you for showing the restaurant. I wanted to go eat there someday. I like the whoopie pies. It looks similar to the korean choco pie with marshmallow inside I just hit the subscription button. Good luck with you guys!
I go in for my FREE birthday meal every year ! They pack up a whoopie pie with a candle . SO CUTE !!!! But a free buffet for your birthday ! So neat ! You mentioned the coupon on their site ? They also have a local card for local people . I think it is 10% off with the local card ! Great to see your fab video ! Loved it !!!!!!!!
Didn't know that had those things. Candle and whoopie pie that's awesome. Free buffet is great also. Hope to go to the whoopie pie festival this year. Appreciate you watching. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills I miss the whoopie pie festival each year ! Hope to spot you guys this year ! Just saw you have more vids ! I got to watch them also ! Great you are doing them !!! 😃
Really enjoyed your video! John and Bobbie, just fix me a plate and hand it to me through the screen, 😂! That Hershey's cake looked so yummy and delicious and so did the whoopie pie! And so did yours Bobbie. Your food looked so good!
@@jbinthehills Hi again, it was so kind of you both, to_ take time out of your busy schedule to answer me, especially with so many others, that you answer. I'm 71yrs.old and my husband and I don"t get to travel as we used to, so watch you two on your interesting tours is a delight! So thank's for everything and God bless and protect you both.and family!💚
Ah my old stomping grounds! I'm originally from Lebanon County PA! Palmyra/Annville to be exact! Graduated from Palmyra Area High School in 2005 and worked for the Hershey Foods Corporation from 2007 to 2010! Started at the H.B. Reese plant on the miniature cup & Big Kat lines then transferred to the main Hershey Plant on the Kiss line for 2 years! Great place to work until they sadly closed down when Mexico bought the company! Moved to Central Florida in 2013 and have been a devoted Floridian ever since! You guys need to hit Quaker Steak & Lube and take the Triple Atomic Wing Challenge they have there! I took and passed the challenge twice! You also need to hit Tony's Mining Company and the Blue Bird Inn both located in Cornwall PA!
That's terrible about the plant. We lost our jobs recently along with 3000 others when they moved the largest generic pharmaceutical plant in USA to India. Bobbie had 35 years there. Very sad like you. Have to try those places if we go back up to the Hershey area sometime. We are 4 hours away. Really appreciate your comment and you watching. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills Absolutely! I definitely enjoy your vlogs! Yes definitely do try both Tony's and the Blue Bird! REALLY GREAT PLACES!!!! I noticed years ago you visited Fred Roger's grave site! If you ever get back towards Latrobe you should vlog the Fred Rogers Center where many of the original puppets and props reside as well as the entire history of Mr. Rogers!
@@theincredibleimpression We hope to do that at the college. That is on our list and a update on the grave. We are for sure going to do that. Thanks Zach😎😎
This place is not affiliated with the chocolate company. Maybe this place puts stuff in local stores but I've never seen it. It has a in store bakery.😎😎
Hello New Castle. Back in the 70's I stayed in New Castle for a few days while visiting a friend while working in the steel industry. New Castle and Beaver Falls were both quaint little towns. Had a good time.
Lol We figured the video would be to long. Our videos are long because we try to show as much as we can. Sometimes I cut out 5 to 10 minutes of them just to shorten them because we know nobody will watch that long. Glad you enjoy them we appreciate it. 😎😎
Shady Maples is a better deal. But if you go to the Sight and Sound Theater Hershey's restaurant is right beside it. And we did enjoy our meal . Thanks for watching 😎 😎
@@jbinthehills I remember going to Hershey Farm and Sight and Sound forty years ago, when it was in grade school. The restaurant looks completely different now.
j&b watching y'all's video on the way to Guthrie Kentucky this morning Amish country go up about once a month the food y'all had looked really good the desserts also look really good you can never go wrong with Amish country going to pick up some homemade breads and pies and actually the men have a furniture store up here where they make homemade furniture looking at a couple of rocking chairs that I'm probably will end up buying but hey guys great video till next one God bless
They make the best furniture. Maybe have to film one of them. Have safe trip Jeff and tomorrow we have a Amish Market video coming out with chicken pot pies you might like. 😎😎
WENT HERE YESTERDAY I AGREE A LITTEL HIGH PRICED BUT IT WAS GOOD FOOD CHICKEN WAS A LITTEL OVER FRIED BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT BEAUTIFUL DRIVE THERE FROM MARYLAND COUNTRY SCEANARY ABOUNDS FOR THE HOUR DRIVE
FYI Huge fire today (Tuesday 1/9 @ 11:30 AM @ Hershey Farms Restaurant w/ about 50 pieces of equipment responding. Restaurant was destroyed. Fire started on the roof. A workman was using some glue and a heat gun and there was an explosion and the fire started. Owners say they plan to rebuild.
I've been there before it's pretty good when I went and saw the light and sound show when I went to the Hershey Park Hersheypark Hershey Place pretty good food
I've been there before a long time ago I haven't been there recently looks like a good place I would love to go back I recently went last year to the smorgasbord buffet for my dad for Father's Day and we went to a couple other buffet places that was good
I couldn't wait to try shoofly pie 🥧. I am a sweetaholic, but the pie was absolutely disgusting 🥺. Tastes like syrup with brown sugar on top. We do want to eat at Hershey soon. The pie was at another restaurant, but I assume they are made the same way.
