We lived in Gelnhausen and Lieblos for 8 years. While we would get bored and want to return to the USA, at times, there are times, now, when I wish I could return!!! My Dad was stationed at the Coleman Kaserne, with the 2nd of the 6th Artillery, from 1965- 1969, in Gelnhausen, Germany. We lived in the apartments for American dependents, during this time, right across the highway from the German soccer field. I was in elementary school during this time, but this didn't keep us from spending a lot of time on the military base, though we did spend a lot of time in the town of Gelnhausen, since my mother was German!!!
+George Black .....Dito...I still live in Gelnhausen. As you can see in the Video, it has changed alot. The Buildings you have lived in across the Soccerfield, it is called "coleman Center" with a big shopping mall spread over the area
Nur schade, dass die Szenen mit der vollen Innenstadt nur während des Barbarossa- und/oder Schelmenmarktes gedreht wurden. Denn jeder Ortskundige weiß, dass die Stadt seit Jahren tot ist. Lediglich am Bahnhof spielt sich für die jüngeren Generationen noch das Leben ab.
Genau so ist das. Ich liebe Gelnhausen und bin stolz drauf. Das Video ist positiv OK. Nur was ist mit dem Bahnhof ? Das ist Bewegung was gut ist. Nur ist schon klar für das möchten wir nicht sehen nur das schöne und gute ist klar. Schade !
