We try to post the videos in chronological order as much as possible. But I really want to place some more recent videos. Sorry it causes confusion. But because we made so many beautiful videos in the summer. I would like to continue to post them.

Poor Eefje is a bit more sensitive to her surroundings, got a little spooked, probably sensed the excitement in everyone, and tightened up so her movement wasn't what it might be. From one sensitive soul to another, you're a star to me, Eefje.

Yay Hester & Stal Goëngamiedan on becoming a STAR MARE!✨🌟 Very exciting, and surely everyone is proud of her. Eefje having such a successful & charismatic sire & dam (Friesian King Jasper 366 Sport Elite preferent & Our favorite Queen Uniek Crown Sport) one would assume she'd have star status in the bag! I guess things don't always turn out how we'd like, and that's ok. Eefje is a stunning mare who I'm sure has won the hearts of her new family the same way she has ours. Really happy overall! This was quite informative. From what I understand, when it is time to breed Hester, a stallion will be chosen that has the traits or qualities that will help correct any flaws or low scoring areas found during her inspection in order to produce a superior foal.

I love Eefje, but comparing her with Hester, her walk is a tiny tad weaker and her trot, too. So, I get why she did not make it. But as she has a good home now, too, she will probably live a happy horsie life and she won't mind not being a star mare. She will be a star in her own world.

I agree whole heartedly. That was not fair to Eefje to compete in the rain. I find that unacceptable and she paid the price.

I like her "short" reaching trot...won't ever worry that she steps on herself and trips. I don't blame her one bit about not liking the rain...the handler didn't like it either and seemed to lean on her a bit and not take full strides...possibly afraid to slip and fall for both of them🤷‍♀️ but I like her "smaller" looking build...vary light and dainty compared to some of the heavier built body types. Vary elegant carriage horse built for a lady. I know I'm a sucker for heavy body horses but she has the lady vibe all through her!

@@RedHybiscus Eefje is sickle hocked, a conformation fault (i.e., born with it) that you don't want passed on in a breeding program. The weather had nothing to do with her skeletal issues.

Hester’s trot is perfection. Great … Star Hester … what a beautiful horse. Eefje is also a beautiful horse. I think she has a gorgeous trot too. I think Eefie should have gotten the Star rating. She is beautiful and did an excellent job, plus it was pouring rain. I hope she was sold to a good home and is very happy. I would love to have gotten her.

@FriesianHorses #Friesian #Horses #Followtheherd #FriesianHorses I’m no a professional but the judge mentioned that her hind legs and back is a bit tight(16:28) , and when you touched her back before she was shown she had a “shaky spot” on her back and that usually means that the vertebrates are locked and not moving properly, that also leads to muscle knots. So I would strongly recommend that you bring a chiropractor to your stables and let them check her whole body. Maybe there are other spots too that needs adjusting. After the chiropractor she should move her hind legs and back much more “springy” with longer strides and more flow. Just some advice from me. ❤️ Love your stables, your horses and my cousin is also breeding Friesians (in Sweden). Good luck!! 👍🏻

I really enjoy the architecture of the beautiful large Friesland estate homes…. One does not see that type of architecture in the USA . The barns that some people have are enormous. To own Friesians in Friesland is not for the financially meek. Last but not least throw in the cost of the friesians. The surface that they did the inspection on was perfect. That is a very handy little horse transport vehicle. I would have had one when I had my stable to transport the horses. But some vehicles that are sold in Europe are not sold in the USA. I could not make out the logo on the. Steering wheel. Beautifully translated and edited as always yvonne!!!… what a dream to own one of uniek’s mares or stallion’s

Yes that's what I meant at the right speed her trot is perfect. They're so easy going I think they watch out for the handler but when they get going her trot is perfect. Also in the film you can see, as they explain it, the back leg has to come up almost to step in the print of the front leg but EEFJES' beautiful when she trots.🤩🥰

Eefje is one of my favorites because of her beautiful color, great hair growth and she looks to be smooth and comfortable to ride. Her large stature is a plus for me. Neck and head are held lovely when she moves. I think she should be trained over some low jumps to get her to loosen up and gather herself more balanced when she pushes off from her hind legs into her gait. I wish I could afford her. You really breed lovely stock.

Rick gore's chanel Think Like a Horse is another one who gives excellent honest advice and information about the horse!!! He recently lost his 24 year old mustang and his gelding Buddy who was raised by Rick and his mustang Tanner or Mr T has a new pasture mate. I could go on but there's not enough space. While Hester"s trot is beautiful, I do think Eefje's trot feels lighter somehow. A shame she didn't get a star grade, though she did seem a little tense despite a beautiful demonstration. I'll certainly miss seeing her, she's a lovely horse and will bring a lot of joy to her owners!

Eefje had a few tiny minor points they thought. Nothing was said of her being happy, alert, sporting her tail high. There should be points indicating the horses' health between the ears. If that was the case Eefje would have gotten a double star at least !!! (^8

A bit unrelated: We have a two year old pony stallion at the stable and he is supposed to go to inspection in winter. When I asked how he is doing, the owner told me that he is very well behaved, does everything perfectly. I answered: "Sadly that is nothing they will judge during inspection ..." You can have the nicest horse, but if they are not moving well, it will come to nothing. There should be more awareness of character imo.

It should not be overly weighted on the side of movement. Her sickle hocks are a significant conformational defect, and could cause problems later.

@@lisajoyaslanis - Who knows? Yvonne has spoken often about deformities and other problems due to inbreeding during the time Fresians were so rare. Although every effort is being made to breed out those things, some genes may lie dormant, and pop up from time to time. One of the Stall G mares had a foal with a deformed jaw - that I assumed was put down - just last year, I think. Another foal born a few years ago, only lived a few days, and Myrthe lived several months, but had to be destroyed because of a neurological problem. So even though the very best mares - Star and Crown - are being bred to the very best approved stallions, defects are still happening, but every attempt is being made to breed them out. They seem to have come a very long way in a relatively short time. I saw a video recently of a rescue - in Switzerland, I think? - who brought in an aged Fresian stallion, who still had a beautiful head and neck, but was very deformed with swayback. The center of his back was way below the level of his hips and shoulders - and I read somewhere that used to be a big problem with Fresians, so we can see that problem has been corrected. They will just continue to get better with careful breeding.

Great for Hester!! As to Eefje...she is lovely. But...I will say that the "flaws" are probably more from the Stallion's side. It's why stud books are maintained and why we look at pedigrees from both sides and the rankings that are given. We breed best to best. However that being said beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Again she is lovely and how could she not be? Uniek is her mother! She will make someone a wonderful mare. She is sweet and tried to give everything she had without complaint and in the rain besides! I think she did a great job!

I hope she becomes star mare so that she doesn't have to be sold. Hester is a beautiful young mare - very elegant looking and light on her feet. Any more so and she almost wouldn't look like a typical Frisian to me anymore - but I guess, that's just where the breed is going. Not much demand for heavier looking, baroque type horses, these days. She'll have very pretty foals, that's for sure. I'm not surprised, Eefje found a new home so quickly, either. She's lovely and I'm sure, her new owners will adore her as much as we!

@@LindaEll89 can a horse be reinspected, for example, if the horse had a bad day or movement and presentation would benefit from building up muscle and more fitness? I don't really understand the judging process of course but it some of it seems arbitrary for a young horse that's still developing. Eefje is spectacular, but I see the difference between her & Hester. Eefje is all one could ask to pull a small parade type buggy. More that than dressage, I think, to bring out her show qualities. Two very willing horses. I’m sure Eefje’s buyer was glad she didn’t get the star, & they had a chance to snap her up! Such a sweet horse!!!

Hester was beautiful and deservwd her Star. Eefje has always been a favourite of mine and is gorgeous. I'm so glad she has gone to a lovely home. She deserves that for sure. ♥️♥️♥️

Congratulations to Hester becoming a star mare. I am so sorry that Eefje has left the herd because she couldn’t get her Star. Makes me sad, competition for breeding is rough. I hope we can see how she is doing. This herd isn’t stable to become attached to any one horse. It’s a business in livestock it’s just hard to stay attached sometimes. Love two legged Yvonne.💕😊👋🏼🇺🇸

For newer viewers to channel, I add my perspective. Hopefully Yvonne will not feel I am presumptuous (aanmatigend) to interpret. When Yvonne says "it is a pity" it is not to feel sorry for Eefje. By all standards, she is very fine Friesian mare, and bright future ✨with new owners to including Studbook approved for breeding if they wish. Yvonne is disappointed they will not keep at Stal G. as they saw potential. They spend extra time and resources to give Eefje 2 chances for Star rating. In the end, they must make best choice to further improve the breed and goal of best possible quality Friesian horses.

I remember being told a gallop is when all feet are off the ground for part of the stride. Hester is off the ground a lot with her beautiful trot. I learned something new today!

At the right speed, her trot is perfection - Par excellence!! Her head is up, her neck and chest is straight, (Are, means plural, two. Chest and neck are... Is, refers to one. As when she is trotting, her chest and neck is straight - like one, not two) - and then her head is up. EEFJE, at approx 12:05, her stance looked perfect! EEFJE was comfortable with the rain but I believe that's because of you guys - you make their temperaments, easy. Your Friesans have the best temperament of any stables!❣ Her trot was beautiful when she can get the correct speed but they're big and I believe they consider the size of their handler - so once the horse lets go her trot IS perfect and she does well with the handler around the curve or corner. I would die to be able to keep EEFJE. I love hearing her hooves/legs/body, thump on the soft earth. Oh, man - a gorgeous transport van, the most beautiful Friesans and THE best weather ❣❣❣ I love the rain, I love the Friesans and the farm. Congratulations for your HESTER, STAR MARE. EEFJE is no problem - I'll take her home 🌬

Thank you for showing us the April inspection, Yvonne. Brava! Hester, to attain Ster status. :) And wow, her big brother Teun is breeding some gorgeous foals of his own! I used to hope that Eefje would remain in your stable to carry on Uniek's line. Whoever bought her is very lucky to own such a beautiful mare. Will she ever have another chance at inspection?

I'm so proud of Hester. She's matured from one of the shaggy yearlings to Star mare!! Eefje is no less beautiful, and is surely loved at her new home. Rinske and Yvonne are gorgeous as always!
