Jake, you should know this: The Netherlands has two official languages closely related to English. They are Dutch and Frisian. English came from that part of The Netherlands called Friesland, making it the most-closely living Germanic language to English. Although being closer to German, Dutch also looks like English when spoken and written.

Is that so? 🧐. Since when have Dutchmen been obliged (obligated) to repeat the same brainless comment on any video we see about The Netherlands? Do you have an aim (eg promoting The Netherlands)? Or do you have an obsessive fixation on The Netherlands' colonial history? If so, it's kind of complimentary ... after all, why have you chosen The little Netherlands to spotlight? You do realise that the NL colonies or empire was a small one compared to others (eg British, Spanish and Portugese colonial empires were much bigger). The Netherlands was not the most brutal (Belgium colonialisation wins the prize there), and The Netherlands enslaved fewer African people than the British, Belgian or Spanish empires , etc. The French colonies were pumped of their blood from Morocco to Vietnam. And so on ....... Of all these, you do know that The Netherlands alone was itself once 'G E K O L O N I S E E R D' by Spain? So, as colonial empires go, The Netherlands was just "een kikkerlandje" that also ran. You flatter the Netherlands by giving its colonial history such an all powerful BIG IMAGE among European colonisers. Or is is personal? I wonder 🤔. Have you anything original to say? Or just 'colonised' all the time, like a 🦜parrot, as if no-one already knows that. WTF is your point, actually? Oranje boven! 🍊👍
