Editors Note: at around the 4:20 Mark, I accidentally said the shifter used a "Ball Bearing Rocker" style method for shifting. It is actually a "Ball Spring" method. Sorry for the confusion! This is my first "on-camera" video utilizing my new Panasonic G85 camera. I would love some input/thoughts on how the video looks! :D

Actually, it does come with a multi-directional desk clamp plus hardmounting options (sideways and from below) so it is immensely versatile in mounting options. A great tip when hardmounting it is to release the tension on the ball plunger first, otherwise it could push the shifter apart. After mounting, don't forget to tighten them (William!) and you're good to go! Thanks for the mention anyways 😁

Nice review. One feature that is rather nice, but maybe not frequently utilized, is the ability to plug the shifter directly into a Simucube board, the HE pedals controller board, or any USB joystick controller board (like Bodnar) and not have to use it as standalone USB. It then becomes two buttons on an existing controller. For example, I made up a simple cable with Dupont connectors from the shifter to the USB controller for my HE Pros. The pedals and shifter now work as a single device. This would work for any system or controller that supports button inputs.

Hey William, nice review as always! You should also try out the DIM Sim Shifter made from a really nice guy from russia. I simply love it and its only around 120 dollar even though it's made of metal.

William, you seem to forget that this thing does not need to be hardmounted with screws and the "wingman" thingy. You can just use the C-shaped clamp and fasten it to any ledge or flat surface on any given rig. With that configuration it is literally just as easy to mount as a TH8A, except the clamp sits below and can be turned either way, which affords more mounting options than the TH8A. Given it _can_ be hardmounted to extruded profiles as well, this is a _lot_ more versatile for mounting options than most other shifters out there on the market. I really don't see any reason to complain about fitting cockpits and mounting solutions.

So, basically your complaint is that the shifter is too small and that is why you don't feel it works on most cockpits?

@@riman8493 the complaint isn't that it's "too small", it's that it's "too short". I know you can mount it on just about any Cockpit. The problem is that the shifter, even in it's tallest configuration, likely won't reach a decent ergonomic position, hence why I said you may want to get an extension for the shifter.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I felt that "doesn't fit every cockpit" was a bit ambiguously worded, which triggered my reaction. Makes sense now.

This shift is so small, so you will probably be able to fit it beside your wheel base on your rig. That's what I did, I drilled two holes on my GT Omega Wheel stand and put it beside my Fanatec CSW 2.5.

I've completely ruined my DFGT's sequencial it takes like 15mm to upshift and 1mm to downshift so i get mis shifts all the time. This shifter with a newer fanatec wheel would be a nice combo. Coming from the god awful non clutch dfgt pedals that is what im looking forward to upgrade the most.

As someone who upgraded to fanatec(pedals) from dfgt I can say I heavily recommend upgrading. I can never go back to non load cell brake pedals such is the difference

Do you have a list for your racing setup? I just use a Logitech g25 set and it’s not really up to par with what I want. It feels kinda delicate and hollow if that makes sense. Where did you get the mounts for your wheel etc?

Using a taller shift knob will just increase the leverage and throw required so is hardly a “fix”.

Hi Much better but aiologs shifter is now better. Depend hox Much you want putting inside you have psl. aeron simulator.simworks..... Depend also of car class rallye dtm gt3 lmp....But more expensive

it's actually quite cheap for this quality. you get what you pay for. Finally having high quality equipment makes you ask youself "why didn't I get this much earlier?" :-D

173 USD - 160 EUR for something you can make YOURSELF with an Arduino controller, some swtiches, a salvaged gearstick and an aluminium tube? The whole assembly doesn't cost more than 30 EUR! Sometimes I really do get why the non-initiated think that we in the community are fucking NUTS for spending this much: I can get it for the wheels up to a point, but these ancillaries? Hell to the fuck to the nah.
