Hi, this is our compact sequential shifter showdown review between the Heusinkveld and Aiologs. Both are amazing and we're going find out which is the best in class. Enjoy the video. Please like and subscribe for more!
NOTE: In the review, I state the Aiologs shifter is shipped with either a table clamp or plate mount; and that you pick one of these during purchase. In actual fact, they provide both with your order now. I bought my shifter before this change, hence my statement. Sorry for the confusion.

2021 UPDATE: the AIOLOGS nowadays ships with the table clamp AND side mount, and from the looks of things, they now look a lot better than they did back when this video was shot. They have significantly improved their manufacturing processes. You can also choose different gear-shift knobs for a few dollars extra at checkout: Default knob, adjustable knob (which is longer), or adjustable knob with extender. The USB connection is not fixed as it is shown here nowadays: it has a USB "B" socket.

Thanks for the review dude - I've been looking for a meaningful comparison between the Heusinkveld and Aiologs.

For me the Heusinkveld would win as it’s the same price (when you factor shipping and import - Europe) and is actually better value because you get multiple shifter options with the shaft sizes/angles and the different gear knobs. Love the review style though as you go through in so much detail that the viewer can assign their own points to each section and get the best product for them. Really unique and it helps when looking at what products to buy.

I received my AIOLOGS this week. Really happy with it. The new version the USB cable is detachable and it has some RGB light inside too. It cost me including shipping £40 less than the Heusinkveld. It is a no-brainer!!

Really nice comparison and review!! I have been looking at the Ailog to get a sequential shifter on my right side as well.. :) But I can't really make a place for it to fit. The Heusinkveld though, man that one is small!! Have to do some measurements. :D

I own the Heusinkveld shifter. I have not tried the model by Aiologs, although I had their handbrake once. The build quality of the handbrake is amazing, as good as the products by Heusinkveld. However, they can't compared in terms of performance, simply because it's just feels like a hard spring, nothing like a true brake mechanism. As regard the shifter, I'm very happy with the Heusinkveld model. I have seen how the Aiologs shifter works and it looks equally fantastic, maybe a bit with a longer throw. The mechanical sound is nice, but I wouldn't be able to hear it with my headphones, so it's not something to consider in my case. On the other hand, the bent shaft provided with the Heusinkveld model is a very important advantage in my opinion. Once you try it, you can't go back to a straight lever. It just feels more ergonomic. Together with a cylindrical Mugen knob made of aluminum, it feels amazing. Finally, it's true that the Aiologs shifter is less expensive, but you cannot forget customs if you live in Europe. I had to pay extra 80€ to rescue my Aiologs handbrake. The process took several months and a lot of hassle, sending docs and exchanging many e-mails, also because Paypal got my money and never completed the payment. I even had my Paypal account temporally disabled. They considered that ordering something to Russia was illegal. I can't put the blame on this to Ailogs, but it's something to bear in mind.

I ordered Aiologs in Canada and was lucky to have great service from Dmitry. He even gave me heads up it would be a little wait so that I would get the next gen knob version/colour. But ya I can see how customs issues can arise. Paid a fair amount for my Demon Tweeks orders ha.

Great review! I was just comparing these and the Ailogs definitely appealed, you've confirmed my thoughts so will order ASAP. Interesting to see the ROTATIONAL differences between the shifter shafts when used, with the Heusinkveld notably dipping on the upshifts (towards you), and rising on the downshifts (away). Not keen on that.

You will be really pleased with the Aiologs. The pivot point on the Heusinkveld shifter is housed offset in front of the stick and not directly underneath as you observed, a very good point to make. Though you can't feel that in use, it's consistent in both directions so it's not a negative feature of the design.

So obviously there is a really long wait for the Aiologs shifter. Im a guy who likes mechanical feel/strong tactile feeling, with that being said im torn between the Husenkveld and the B.J. Sim Racing Pro sequential. Size is doesn't matter to me, the only thing that matters is the feel! With the ball plungers (behind the black pieces on either side) tightened up on the Husenkveld, does this help at all? In the end I guess my main question here is if the Aiologs didn't exist then which would you prefer, B.J. Sim Racing or Husenkveld???? Thanks!
@SimRacingCorner
@SimRacingCorner 4 года назад
@@michaelritch2045 You can't tighten the ball plungers further, it will bind the mechanism. I prefer the B.J. over the HE. But the Aiologs over both of those.

Aiologs seems less expensive at first look, but they add$100 DHL shipping cost to the price. So, it raises the total price to $280 which is way higher than they advertise their product. Heusinkveld seems a better option I guess.
@Sean-ps3ec

Performance doesnt include sound. The 'sound' has no bearing on how the shifter performs... I realize this is 4 years old.
@1984kylea
@1984kylea 5 лет назад
You mentioned you owned the Frex shifter (assuming the Frex + Sequential), could you provide your thoughts on that shifter, if you don't mind.
@SimRacingCorner
@SimRacingCorner 5 лет назад
Surething Kyle. The Frex Seq shifter uses springs for tension, along with a two-way toggle switch for shifting. It doesn't have a snap-feel action for shift engagement. You're just pushing against the spring resistance until activating the switch. You hear a click, but there's no added 'realistic' feel to the shifting. It's a bland feeling shifter, but it works just as well as any of these when it comes down to doing the job.

nice comparison, thank you. I just got my HE mainly because I live with other people, so I want to be as quiet as possible but it makes kind of squeaky sound in the first faze of a shift. As if it was rubbing against something. Is this normal?
@SimRacingCorner
@SimRacingCorner 4 года назад
Mine doesn't squeak, I'd say it's something rubbing. It's very easy to open the body of the shifter (it won't explode everywhere) and apply some lubrication to sort that out.

@@mmarkotan Good to hear. Indeed the squeak could have been the ball bearings, it's hard to tell when everything is so close to together. Lubricating all the moving parts is a good thing all the same.

I've had mine for 3 years and it's as good as I bought it. I don't use it every day of course, or for several hours in one go. Anything can wear out if it's abused long enough, certainly. You're describing a situation of being hammered at car shows by the public which isn't typical of normal use.

@@SimRacingCorner while I agree to a point, at £200 for a standalone shifter, I would expect it to feel tight for a very long time. And the company who's SIM rig was at the show, was only founded a year ago, so one year of use at probably a couple dozen shows at most.

I have had my HS over a year now and is as good as new, but i however do take care of my equipment. The nod for me over the aiologs shifter was down to the noise levels while using at night, late night actually up to around 3am, that clicking every shift would definitely get me in trouble.
