Transform Your Garden with a Honeycomb Log Store and Bar. Needed a garden divider, a garden bar and somewhere to store my logs. So, I designed and build this Hexagonal shaped log store. It cost 75 euros and took about 12 hours to build. It is a great architectural feature in any garden.

Beautiful. It's nice enough to work as a stand alone garden feature even if you don't have a wood burner. It's natural, tactile & provides a bit of privacy even. Well done

Know what you mean about the block plane, with so many power tools in the shop using the plane makes you feel like a real woodworker. 😎👍

An excellent project JP - looks really great. Can't agree more about chamfering with a block plane - much more satisfying than a router.

An interesting log holder but I bet you now come winter you have another pile of logs for burning as the design looks so good filled.

I'd call the top covers joint a shiplap, but I could be wrong. And would give a thought to getting the middle bottom pile o logs off the concrete pad. Beautiful build Jp. Take care & stay safe, you and fam.

Hi Doug. Yes, it’s a shiplap 😊 I will remove the bottom pile once Bo decides not to trample Lynne’s Garden as they spoil the honeycomb effect. Regards JP

Reveal to us why you didn’t rotate the mitre saw (around the vertical axis) rather than tilt it (around the horizontal axis) - wouldn’t it then have the cut capacity?

Hi. No doesn’t cut 3” in that axis either at 30 deg (or zero) need the bigger capacity saw. The saw cuts more in the axis I show in the video. Regards JP

I have been looking for such a project. It has to be narrow enough to fit on my patio. This will work for me. Thanks. Can you tell me where you got the barrow/trolley that you used to carry the logs. Looks perfect for my needs, never seen one.
