Thanks for the review, my friend! As to set up the monitoring feature, please do the procedure below: 💫1. Plug the headphones to the 3.5 mm jack at the bottom of the mic; 💫2. Click "Playback" tab from the Sound Panel-Select "fifine Chat" or "fifine Game" as the default output device. Then you can monitor your voice mixed with the computer audio.
just finished shooting my video review. A no go on the headphone monitoring for my voice on both PC and Mac either. What I did discover is the headphone monitoring works for gameplay and chat audio coming in, just not your mic itself. Definitely for the gamers, not so much podcasters and livestreamers. C.O.D. players would probably want this where you want to hear game audio, chat, but don't want your own voice in the mix in your headphones. Still, great value at this price., especially a great one if your a FPS gamer.
Ehh, for a gamer that wants to chat with friends/during the game - sure, I also like the dial for mic/game, feature-wise this is a solid mic, I appreciate that as a gamer and if I wasn't interested in microphones, this would be probably quite high on my list due to these. But... sound wise - I don't really like it, to me it sounds very bright, borderline piercing so probably a de-esser or some shelf reduction in high frequencies would be necessary to me, even more if someone has higher voice, not a deeper one like you have Bark. To sum it up - as Obscure Tech product, targetted for gamers - good one, good features, good look, and sound better than 99% of headset or these attachable mics like ModMic. If it was on Obscure Mics I'd probably have a bit different opinion.
@@ObscureTech Yee, they are all good performing mics, it's only that for us audio enthusiasts, we prefer 'professional' mics without RGB and gaming stuff.
Pooey? For that price you get the k669 c or d and it blows this out the water. Cancellation on sounds underwater With it off its much better but a bit bright. Not talkin about the LEDs either.
Haha thank you for the favor of the K699C/D, but the AM6 has the chat mix feature that a K669C/D combination with SC1 can't achieve. Perhaps it's just down to the different users these mics aim at.
You can enable the mic monitoring by clicking into the "game chat" under "playback devices" of Windows and then unmuting the mic option. Since this mic is featured with the chat mix dial, you will hear game and chat sounds at the same time, it will be quite overwhelming you also hear your voice once you plug the headphones in, so we made it disabled and you can enable it depending on your need.
If the chat mix isn't a big deal to you and your voice isn't super bassy, then the AM8 with the future upgradability might be a better-value-for-money option to you.
