You are an inspiration to me. I haven't been catching you as much lately, and I found myself asking why. You said it! "How are you spending your time? You must invest in yourself." I know that's not your exact words, but if something is not right with you, go to God, and work on yourself.
I know people sometimes don't trust professional stylist but getting my hair nurtured and trimmed by a professional master stylist really help me. I was cutting off way too much and I even try to tell him when to trim lol But he patiently showed me when I was suppose to get a trim and how much. So my trims went from cutting a inch off every 3 months to getting 1/8 to 1/4 off every 4 to 5 months because I was shown how to properly care for my scalp, length and ends ❤
Hello! One of them that work for me was don't laden your hair with too much styling products. I was packing to much edge tamer on my hair. EVERYDAY. Unknownly, I was kinda dry rotten my ends. Now if I use styling product it's protein-free gels for me
One of the many reasons why I follow you , is because you always incorporate the wisdom of God in all that we do ❤ May He continue to bless you above all you can ask or think
My ends were hanging on for dear life, and I just swore I could hot-oil treatment and protein-treatment my way out of a trim. I finally gave in and trimmed it yesterday, but I WANT LONG HAIRRRRRR!!!
Convo much needed❤ I got a trim and felt like my length was gone but in reality it wasn't 🤣 I was trippin ‼️‼️ the ends needed to go....Also I had a revelation yesterday that coincides with your topic. I have unrealistic goals for my hair. I have been growing my hair to bra strap length but was frustrated I could never show off my length because of shrinkage. No matter what I did or how long it always ended in a puff😂 so my hair let me know I was the problem not her!!!! I am fearfully and wonderfully made🙌🏽 Afro puff it is😅
Hey Grace ,Idk why when u said indian matchmaker i got so hype lol , maybe i thought i was the only one watching it , so now I don't feel weird lol you are so right about trims. Tfs😊❤
I finally trimmed my hair last week and it feels SO much better. Feels like a whole new head of hair..I normally trim once a year but skipped last year. I wont do that again
I get more tangles and breakage without a trim. My styles don't look right. I always wear my hair out these days. So it looks raggedy if I don't trim. My schedule is 3-4 months. I trim at home.
I just trimmed my hair 2 weeks ago and omg I hated it😢. It took me 2 years to trim my hair, I’m glad I did it though. While I was trimming I thought about what you said nappyfu, “if you want healthy hair, you gotta do healthy things”. I’m like snip snip ✂️okay😢😂😂.
My plan is to continue being consistent with my hair care routine, including regular trims. At this point, I trim for the health of my ends but more so to maintain my current length. Currently, I don't want to grow my hair any longer. That could change in the future but for now, I have as much length as I'm willing to care for.
Ok wig!🤩 You nailed every point. On average I recommend every 3-4 months, some clients can go twice a year, especially if they don’t experience much tangling.
Hello there, beautiful! I normally get trims every 3- 4 months. Between time, I trim myself when I'm doing twistouts. It's time for a trim now, according to my schedule. However, I don't think I need it now. So I'm going to stretch it until next month. Thank you for all the needed inspiration, information, and scripture. "You are wonderfully and beautifully made!"
I thought I was doing enough by dusting my ends. I finally accepted that my hair requires frequent trims or the breakage will take me from bra strap to shoulder length.
Great video. When I have to trim/cut my ends, I use my wave formers, to let my hair dry, then when it's dry, you can clearly see the line of demarcation as to how much to cut. Also I cut/trim every 6 months
Yeah chiiile. I used to cringe too on my journey to longer hair but I know that it’s needed. I trim my own hair every 3 months and go to my stylist once a year. My hair is very healthy and my shape is great.
I watched this video and got an overwhelming felling to cut/trim my hair. I cut. I always wanted a tapered cut. I cut the sides and the back. offff. It was a marvelous thing. the shape showed up and the feeling of that hair after the cut. im going to the professional for a clean up
@@NappyFu im telling you that tapered is everything. I have not even gotten it professionally corrected yet and it does what it does every day. I am 103% wash and go so that self cut was perfect for me. I will caveat that it should be done by a professional
Girl, Alexa had me skurrrd when she/it said thanks for the thanks😂. I've never used Alexa and i think I'll stick with Google, cuz i ain't tryna have Alexa all up in my business 😆😆😆
I ruthlessly trimmed everything but the sides at the front. Years later ... that was the part that part was stuck at arm pit length bec of split ends mixed within the length.. Everything else grew easily to waist length. I had to suck it up and ruthlessly trim that hair. I lost so many years of growth needlessly.
I was getting my ends trimmed every 12 weeks for a couple of years. My stylist said we can move to 2x years because I didn’t need it and I always were kinky twist and do not wear my hair out and only manipulate it when taking down my twist . I also wash my twist and deep condition weekly.
Yep I was over bra strap went to the hairdresser to get a good deep conditioning and steam treatment, my ends needed a trim, she cut 3 inches off, back to just being at bra strap. ,it is much healthier tho, so still a win. I just wish she never cut that much.🤷🏽♀️😌
I was JUST going through this so I decided to do an experiment. I trimmed the right side and not the left. I'll sew what happens in 2 months to each side. (It seems the right side grows slower than the left
I don’t follow a schedule & just trim whenever my hair looks/feels like it needs it bc I get hella fairy knots at my ends if I go longer than 8 weeks. For me it’s easy to tell when I need a trim in mini twists bc I can see the knots or damage/inconsistencies. I trim/dust regularly & it seems like my hair adjusted to the routine bc it grows faster after a trim these days whereas before it seemed like it plateaued when I first started trimming.
Me too I get my hair assessed every month to see if a trim is needed and the consensus is I need a trim twice a year and my hair went from 1/2 in September 2019 to almost waist length
@@Neosoul_prima 😂😂😂 my hair grew longer and healthier because I take great care of my body and hair. I realised that I was trimming my hair far too often and I never saw growth. Now my hair is past my bra strap and thriving. The ends are enjoying life like never before 😂😂😊❤️❤️❤️
@@diboakale3461 lol you know people always know better than you about your hair! I been natural longer than most people have been alive and what works for me might not work for someone else but I do believe that everyone should get their hair assessed by a professional so you can have a general idea of the health and the next steps to get it where you want it (health wise)
My hair doesn’t break in mini braids, so I don’t trim anymore, I used to trim to get rid of thinning ends but I found the answer to stop my ends from breaking immediately and now I don’t follow the 3 month rule anymore, I dust as needed!
@@Slaymayasthe mini braids 😅 along with other long term protective styles (anything that includes cornrows so crochet, wigs. Long term for me means 8-13 weeks of wear) , I have hand in hair syndrome so I basically lock my hair up in these styles while maintaining the moisture with a grease, I oil my ends to keep them lubricated. My hair has no choice other than to retain length, because it’s left alone most of the time. My hands are my hair’s biggest enemy because of stress so this is a hack for myself.
Indian matchmaker- ye!! I feel completely exposed. How you gon do me like that after all these years. I have been trimming myself. I am trying to get my hair to grow. It is getting longer. I have bc’ed x 4 because of health issues. I feel optimistic. Looking forward to length retention for us both.
