I cried for 2 weeks , kept contacting my doctor with questions, and searching online for comfort. I recently received a colposcopy and thankfully it didn’t hurt. A week later I got my results and they said I had CIN1 abnormal cell which usually clears out of the body with 12 months. Going through this process along with other things has been a challenge. Stuff like this makes you not want to be intimate at all. It’s honestly not worth it .

Thank you for your video, I had my first smear test and I was petrified. I went for my colposcopy and my results came back normal. Smear test does safe lives.

This helped a lot! I’m 27 and just got one done and my doctor pushed my follow up by 3 weeks, so I can’t imagine my results are clear. Scary, but this helped ease my anxieties a bit

It definitely hurts lol the pressure I had my first one at like 21. I had to get the smaller ones and I started to bleed smh. I guess we get ours earlier in the US. I’m 27 now and it doesn’t hurt as bad now.

I went to my second gyno appointment last week and came back with it a bit more elevated than last year so I need a colposcopy.... I’m going Monday to get it done. It’s so hard not to freak out especially when I have a history of cancer in my family. This is always so hard for me.

Ladies: if you have burning or pain at all during sex, or bleeding, it is NOT NORMAL! I was told it was normal and i now am on the verge of cervical cancer because my concerns were brushed off and not taken seriously. Listen to your body and BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE!

I needed this guy's. I go back on the 23rd at 9 a m and I'm freaking out. My results were HPV positive and abnormal cells. I've been with the same guy for 8 years. :/

When i was 20/21 I was lucky the Dr decided to do a smear test because after examination they saw the mass - luckly it was a benine polyp that got lazered off - just turned 25 and had my 2nd smear and its come back abnormal. I needed to investigate to ease anxiety because I hoped the removal of the origional polyp was enough

What is the advice around being scanned for other cancers if you are hpv positive? Cervical cancer is only 1 of all sorts hpv can cause..

i had my first pap smear two weeks ago and my doctor called me yesterday to tell me that i tested positive for hpv but have normal cells. my mind is still trying to process all of this information and now i gotta do all this research.. im a major hypochondriac and it’s not helping any. trying to stay as positive as possible. i don’t have anyone to talk to so it’s hard to go through this alone. it kinda makes me feel icky.. i’ve only ever been with one guy sexually & i should’ve known better. 😔 my mind is all over the place. now, i’ve got to wait a year to get another pap.

Girls, I'm amused by the standards of UK on pap smears, in some countries you can have pap smears as soon as you are sexually active and it's recommended to do it every year! I wonder how many young girls are unaware of their health status due to this standard :(

How long between your need for a colposcopy to actually getting this done did you wait? At the moment there are significantly long waiting times (over 8 weeks) and I’m debating going private? I wonder if you would wait or not.

Why would they wait until you’re 25? Here in the U.S. poor little girls are getting them as early as 12. I had my first smear at 18. The doctors seem eager to get us in there for smears now. I had one doctor schedule another pap for me 6 months after she invasively performed one without my consent while I was lying there for, what was supposed to be, a visual exam. I told them NOT to schedule me in 6 months, but then got a reminder for my upcoming appointment nearly 6 months later. I had to call them back to cancel. Wtf. 🤦‍♀️

My sister had hers removed and said it was the most painful thing she’s every experienced.

I have a colposcopy next week and they are making me come in for blood work to be cleared for surgery! I thought it was a simple procedure? And they said I have to be sedated and have breathing tubes put in! What is going on?!

Dr told me I was hpv negative but had atypical cells when I got my Pap smear done.

Why would they not let you have a smear test at 21?? In other countries in Europe it's totally normal to start having smear tests at 18 or earlier.

Just got bad new that I need a colonoscopy for a second time. Been in tears and keep thinking what if it gets to the worse case. Like I want to be here my children. Only 26 years old and I'm worry so much about. If it could get to worst stage. Maybe me feel a little better watching this video.

But I don't get this odd statement "U R not allowed to have PAP smears unit 25",what a nonsense! Do U live in some kind of Amish society?? Or did You mean 'PAP smears are not refund until 25? (but You still can have paid ones). I had my 1st paps when I was 19 and I dont remember exsctly but I think it was for free. I could have it earlier of course... I think when You have it below 18th birtshday You just need to have a parent's permission. I live in a different country in Europe, but still it cant be that different. O.o
