Hi this video goes over my opinion on hey Pikmin. I go over what I like and what I dont like While trying to see what went wrong to make people hate it. Thanks for clicking and I hope you enjoy it. :D
Because, much like Metroid Prime Federation force, it was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It released 2 years after the infamous "Pikmin 4 is Very close to completion" article and people wanted a traditional Console Pikmin game; Not a harmless, but ultimately not noteworthy 3ds spinoff
Another thing about this is that you can find Pikmin around the areas which doesn’t make sense in the other games because if all the species dies, then it’s extinction but in this game, extinction does not exist
It's hated because it's doodoo poopoo trash and deserves to be flushed down a toilet and then washed out until it's found by a treasure finder who will say it isn't even worth keeping and toss it back until a fish eats it and then it gets caught by a fisherman and the fisherman goes to prep it to eat it, find the game, and toss it in the trash. Then it will get picked up by the garbage men and brought by their trucks to the facility and then after a worker finds it will burn it because of the horrible shape it's in. (This is a joke comment)
I like when you finish the level and you get to see the Pikmin jumping around. They just seem so happy and oblivious to the many dangers they face every second
My big issue with Hey! is that it wants me to Perfect every level, while giving me an unreliable, loosely predictable, blindly suicidal pack of AIs to wrangle, all of which die in one hit, instantly, with no chance of recovering them, which is antithetical to the pattern set in every other Pikmin game of "Even if you get a bad deal from the game engine, we'll give you a short window to try to save the situation." Hey! Pikmin just spits on you, laughs, then demands you start entirely over, and watch all the cutscenes again, even skipping them slowing you down, attempt after attempt. Then the game starts throwing the same casual "LMAO, you were standing here when we arbitrarily decided you shouldn't be, 5 Pikmin died" obstacles that the later dungeons of 2 are infamous for, and what was a fun game for me for the first 3 worlds just steadily murked into a tedious slog where something off screen just ruins a quarter of your runs when you're 13 minutes into a level.
I feel like the fact that the game was 2d created a lot of issues like this. The AI I'm Pikmin 1 are incredibly idiotic but because of the 3d space there were ways to work around it and avoid unnecessary Pikmin deaths. Hey Pikmin just doesn't give you those workarounds. It's something that you just have to work through unfortunately.
@@nuzztheloser945 oh then I apologize. I honestly thought it was a sort of mini boss. But my complaint that the bosses suck still stands even if that one enemy isn't a boss.
Funny enough I actually more or less liked this game? Tho not for the gameplay reasons (which is obviously the most important part) but for the pikmin interactions. They have so much personality in this game that at least for me was what kept me going in hope to see more cute interactions. I think tho what I did hate the most about this game was the damn hitbox these enemies had.. in any other game a pikmin can at least "bump" into an enemy and live as long as its not attacked or eaten. Here one touch is instant death and god the fact that if you didnt aim precisely your pikmin, could mean certain death, especially just by the pikmin simply trying to walk back to you. I did my best to 100% this game but when I reached the last section it just became really damn tedious keeping all 20 og pikmins alive till the end so I just gave up and finished up the game.
This is one of the better takes I've seen in a while. The Pikmin are my favorite thing about this game as well. Something about how the game handled them just make them so cute and funny.
This game also thinks it’s fun when it refuse to not give me a area X I went on 100% on the game and it still didn’t give me one that this game deserves remaster on the switch
@@masontheredrabbid6611 I do agree that this game needs a remaster. I think if Nintendo went in and changed some things for the better they could end up giving this game an opportunity for redemption.
Yes pikmin 1 and 2 bosses are much better. Its just that I didn't have a capture card during the making of this video and the method i used for capturing video only worked for the switch and Wii U but not for the Gamecube which is why there is no footage pikmin 1 or 2 bosses. But yes I love Pikmin 1's emperor Bulblax and all of Pikmin 2's bosses way more than any Hey Pikmin boss.
@@LGRK321 If you want, you can buy them on the switch now. Nintendo made switch versions for 1 and 2. Only the ads were censored in pikmin 2 which is kinda sad but that's how it goes.
